WWE ANNOUNCES NEW FINLAND TV DEAL, NEW PEACOCK-WWE JOB

WWE announced the following:

MTV OY AND WWE® ANNOUNCE BROADCAST PARTNERSHIP IN FINLAND

 STAMFORD, Conn., April 9, 2021 – WWE (NYSE: WWE) and MTV Oy today announced a new partnership to broadcast highlights of WWE’s flagship programs Raw® and SmackDown® on free-to-air television for the first time in Finland.

Beginning tonight, a one-hour version of Raw will be broadcast each Friday night and a one-hour version of SmackDown will air each Saturday night on MTV Oy’s free-to-air channel SUB. The weekly programming will air 52 weeks a year with original English voiceover and Finnish Subtitles.

“We are pleased to launch our weekly flagship programming for the first time in Finland and look forward to delivering WWE’s unique blend of action-packed, family-friendly entertainment to our passionate fans in the region,” said Andy Warkman, WWE VP, General Manager, Europe and Sub Saharan Africa.

“We are happy to partner with WWE and bring great action entertainment to WWE’s Finnish fans. Sub is Finland’s third largest commercial channel full of entertainment, comedy and action. Raw and SmackDown are a great addition to our popular weekend programming,” said Iina Eloranta, Channel Director MTV Oy.

Freelance Production Assistant – WWE YouTube (Part-Time)

Responsibilities

This is a part-time project / limited term position with an estimated duration of up to 6 - 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.

Role Purpose

The Video Production Assistant, WWE & YouTube is part of the core video production team, reporting to the NBC Sports Director, Digital Content & Strategy. The role primarily focuses on the editing of highlights for WWE’s flagship shows including RAW, NXT and Smackdown. Additionally, this role will also manage the publishing of that content to the WWE on USA YouTube channel.

Responsibilities

  •     Produce and edit original digital video across all of WWE’s properties
  •     Edit highlight packages from WWE’s flagship shows in real-time
  •     Publish highlights to the WWE on USA YouTube channel in real-time
  •     Create compelling thumbnail images using Adobe Photoshop
  •     Proactively pitch and execute new original video concepts

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  •     Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience
  •     Strong knowledge of WWE and sports
  •     Minimum 2 years’ work experience in television production, and/or digital media production
  •     Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an editing environment
  •     Creatively proficient in Photoshop
  •     Must be able to work nights on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays as well as the occasional Sunday night for live WWE events on Peacock
