THIS YEAR'S WWE HALL OF FAME CELEBRITY INDUCTEE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD

WWE announced today that iconic Star Trek actor William Shatner will be the 2021 Celebrity Wing inductee into the 2021 WWE Hall of Fame Class.  The announcement was made via USA Today.

"It's very much the same, the approbation, the joy," Shatner told USA Today. "The enthusiasm the wrestling audience shows toward its favorite people is not dissimilar to the enthusiasm 'Star Trek' fans show." 

Shatner has made numerous appearances on WWE programming over the years.  In 1995, he appeared on Monday Night Raw in an in-ring King's Court segment where he nailed Jerry Lawler with a monkey flip.

Shatner also hosted an episode of Raw in February 2010, which provided the world with this great vignette:

Shatner also inducted Jerry Lawler into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2007.
