3/29 NJPW ROAD TO SAKURA GENESIS 2021 IN TOKYO, JAPAN REPORT

3/29/21 Results for Road to Sakura Genesis 2021 from Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Japan:

Gabriel Kidd, Yuya Uemura, Yota Tsuji and Master Wato vs. BUSHI, Shingo Takagi, SANADA and Tetsuya Naito.  SANADA pins Uemura with a roll up and bridge.   

Naito attacked Tsuji after the match, putting him in a Boston Crab on the ring floor.  While Los Ingobernales de Japon saluted each other in the ring, Yota Tsuji stared down Tetsuya Naito.    Interesting.

Ryusuke Taguchi, Tiger Mask and SHO vs. DOUKI, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado.  Desperado trapped Tiger Mask in Numero Dos and forced him to tap out.   

YOSHI-HASHI, Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto, Toru Yano and Kazuchika Okada vs. Taiji Ishimori, Yujiro Takahashi, Bad Luck Fale, KENTA and EVIL, with Dick Togo.  KENTA came to the ring with YOSHI-HASHI's Bo Staff, which he stole at the New Japan Cup Finals.    When the match spilled to the floor, it was hard to keep up with what was going on, with so many wrestlers in the match.   The camera did keep focusing on KENTA and YOSHI-HASHI fighting on the ring floor.  Togo slides the Bo Staff into the ring to KENTA.   KENTA knocks Goto in the head with the Staff.  KENTA hits YOSHI-HASHI in the face and off the ring apron with the Staff.   Ishimori, the legal man, hits Goto with the Bloody Cross to get the pin.  KENTA continues his attack on YOSHI-HASHI after the match.  CHAOS tries to go after KENTA but get stopped by the referee.

Satoshi Kojima, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Jado, Gedo and Jay White.  Kojima comes off the ropes with a lariat, but misses and White drops him with a Sleeper Suplex.   White hits a Bladerunner and pins Kojima.  White tells Tanahashi that he will be coming for his NEVER Openweight Title.

Tomoaki Honma, Yuji Nagata and Kota Ibushi vs. Great O-Khan, Jeff Cobb and Will Ospreay.  Ospreay was beating down Honma, when Ibushi tried to make the save.   Cobb speared Ibushi and trapped him in a half nelson on the mat.   Ospreay hit a rolling elbow to the back of Honma's head.   Ibushi watched as Ospreay pointed to him and he lifted up Honma into a Storm Breaker.  Ospreay pins Honma.  Ospreay stares down Ibushi as Cobb releases him.   Ospreay has a wicked smile on his face.    Ibushi has a look on his face like he will have a problem with Ospreay.   Ibushi stands and Ospreay quickly calls Cobb and O-Khan to protect him.    Ibushi leaves the ring.

Ospreay takes the mic and says that he does not care of the lineage of the IWGP Heavyweight or Intercontinental Titles.   He just wants to be the best.   He tells Ibushi that he has five days left, until they meet in Ryogoku at Sakura Genesis 2021.   He says that he take the Title from Ibushi.   He blames the fans for his change in attitude.  He said there is no God (in reference to what Ibushi has said in the past).   He will be the Guy that kills Gods.    He passes the mic to O-Khan to translate.

In the interview area, Ospreay repeated that he does not believe in God, nor people who call themselves "Gods".   He berated those who believe in Ibushi.  He said he will win the IWGP World Heavyweight Title and he will reshape New Japan into his own image.   Quite an ironic statement.

Jeff Cobb in the interview area says that a change is coming to New Japan.   He said Ospreay will be the New IWGP World Heavyweight Champion.  He and O-Khan will be next.   He teased a new member of the United Empire is coming.
