Southern Underground Pro “Are These Our Lives”

3/24/12 - Streamed on IWTV.live

SUP hasn’t been seen since The Collective last October, and even longer on their home turf. Righteous Jesse is back to his mic-free all-screams announcing duties. Wrestlers are at ringside to provide some ambience and shouting. Dylan Hales, Johnny Mosely and Righteous Jesse are on commentary.

Match 1: Violence is Forever(c) (Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini) vs Bitcoin Boiz (Mikey Montgomery & Eric Taylor) (for the SUP Tag Team Championship)

Bitcoin Boiz attack before the bell. ViF doesn’t let that last as they wipe out Taylor with an Eric Stevens choo choo running clothesline and a popup chop. ViF takes this as a cue to batter and torture Eric Taylor with really stiff kicks and chops. Dom gets trapped in an octopus stretch but Ku powerbombs a MF’er into a MF’er to break it up. Mikey stuns Ku and the Boiz hit a Gory Special/Flatliner combo for a close two. Dom powerbombs Mikey into a Ku uppercut. The Bitcoin Boiz have a lot of creative double team moves but Ku and Dom keep kicking and punching them REALLY HARD. ViF with a Chasing the Dragon and this is definitively over.

Winner: Violence is Forever

This was all energy. Loved it. ViF are murder machines and the Bitcoin Boiz were very entertaining meat bags. Feeling pumped up for this show.

Match 2: Damyan Tangra vs Adam Priest

Adam Priest is used to slaying giants but Damyan Tanggra is VERY technical and keeps wrapping the Hoss tournament winner into terribly painful situations. Tangra cut off on the top rope, Priest chops him up and side slams him onto the top buckle. OH GODDDDD. Priest’s ribs are taped so he’s trying to make Tangra feel what he does. Priest with a frog splash attempt but eats a spinning gut buster and a snap suplex to the buckles. Priest with a enziguri and a german bridge for two. Tangra fights out of a sharpshooter and wraps up a STF but Priest gets the rope. Tangra with forearms, misses a big boot on the top rope. Priest with a dropkick to the back and vertical suplex....he gets all of that frog splash to the back for the pin.

Winner: Adam Priest

I’ve been locking Priest and Tangra every time I see them. This was NO different. J-Rose is in the back to interview the victorious Adam Priest, who says he wants to go straight to the top and calls out Bonestorm champ, AJ Gray.

Match 3: “The Suplex Assassin” Alex Kane vs “Wildheart” Cole Radrick

Kane drags Cole to the mat immediately. Cole is able to escape his grasp but Kane with his first suplexes and strikes to follow. Cole with some shots out of desperation but Kane stomps him (and his hopes down). Big backbreaker for two. Big back corner elbow and a running hip attack crumbles Cole again for two. Radrick with a series of shots to the gut, kicks to the leg and a running forearm chops Kane down finally. Cole flips out of a german, dodges another and hits a springboard stunner! Cole grabs an ankle lock but Kane throws him to the buckles. Kane hits a german and another....but his ankle is hurting. Cole gets the ankle lock again and lays back into it. Kane deadlifts him out and hits a huge cradle back suplex (The Mark of Kane) for the pin.

Winner: Alex Kane

This ruled. Like a better, faster version of a “Brock vs a small person” match. Radrick is hard to beat but Kane is such a beast.

Match 4: Derek Neal vs EFFY

Neal powers Effy right to the top rope but lets him back down. Neal wraps up Effy’s ankle but Effy grabs a head scissor....Neal to the rope. Effy with a hammerlock into a deep headlock . Neal tries to power out but Effy holds on, flips through and stays on it. Neal out with a huge shoulder block and avoids Effy at crotch height. Effy with a questionably low shot and a pair of arm drags. Neal keeps trying to power out but Effy is not letting go. Effy goes to the top for an old school.....Neal tosses him down from there and Effy’s in trouble now. Effy with a slap and Neal clubs the heck out of him, northern lights suplex for two. Effy hits a leg lariat that keeps Neal down for two. Effy wants a sleeper but Neal throws his body back to break it up. Effy with a blockbuster for two. Neal with a big butterfly throw for another two. Effy with a belly to back suplex and a running senton for two! Effy wants that sleeper but Neal with a running cannonball into the corner to break it. Neal comes running but misses a dropkick in a gross crash. Effy with a yakuza kick and famouser in the corner but Neal gets a leg on the rope. Neal with a sudden brain buster and Effy goes limp for the pin.

Winner: Derek Neal

Hard hitting classic wrestling to start here. Effy was tenacious, not letting Neal go and wearing him down. Neal was the bigger man but he had to work every step of the way to put down Effy. Solidly excellent matchup here and a fire final minute or so. Derek Neal makes some allusions to mothers who let their children grow up to be cowboys...

Match 5: BSTRD Cassidy vs Bret Ison

Time for two large men to beat the F*** out of each other. Testing with shoulder blocks, chops and forearms. Ison with a chop and Cassidy slams him right down. Cassidy raining down meat fists to the chest but Ison headbutts free. Giant gutwrench suplex from the big BSTRD. Cassidy with more chops but Ison wants more. Ison firing up with a spinning kick to the gut, corner boot wash. He goes for a ripcord but Cassidy with a lariat that turns Bret inside out. Cassidy tells Ison to get up. That may prove a mista—yes indeed, Ison hits a back suplex. Cassidy is up and they are trading back to back suplexes! Double clothesline, double down. They stagger to their feet and trade loud slaps. Cassidy catches a kick, makes Ison eat a knee and lands a popup powerbomb for two. Ison back to his feet and hits a pair of spinning backfists that put the lights out on BSTRD Cassidy.

Winner: Bret Ison

I wanted King Kong vs Godzilla and that is exactly what I got. These two went to warrrrr. Loved this.

Match 6: “Number One” Jaden Newman vs Arthur McArthur

Arthur is an old timey strongman. Jaden Newman recently lost a loser leaves town match in Action so I’m glad someone is putting a roof over his head. Arthur does some poses at the bell. Jaden thinks his poses are better. They aren’t. Arthur slaps him in the back of the head, tries to pose again but Newman with a crucifix pin attempt. Arthur is very vocal through this match...he likes muscle puns. He is also very powerful, crushing Newman with a big clothesline, clubbing blows and choking him out on the second rope. Newman is done with the puns and gets into a strike battle with the strongman...Arthur crumples him with a European uppercut for two. Arthur with a bow and arrow and a giant german turns Jaden in side out. Arthur landing shots but Jaden with a huge pump kick and a low-angle powerslam for two. cravat suplex from Newman, missing a splash off the top and walks into another uppercut and a backpack stunner for two. Jaden with a rolling kick and locks in a cravat STF....Arthur won’t tap so Newman puts him to sleep.

Winner: Jaden Newman

I’m used to hating Jaden Newman so I’m not emotionally ready to being happy for him in this way. Arthur McArthur was a power but he was so bloody annoying that you had to cheer for Newman, who worked his ass off to get this W. Good fighto here. Newman calls out Bret Ison in the post-match interview with J-Rose. That way lies folly, sir.

Match 7: Allie Kat vs Cabana Man Dan

Dan is so angry and aggressive these days (see his match with Ashton Starr in Action last week). CMD is in Allie’s face, dropping her into a pin from a test of strength. Allie tries to speed up the sequence but CMD with an arm drag and pulls at her limb. Dan with a backslide pin attempt, he gets a fireman’s carry but she lucha throws him. Big shoulder block from Kat but Dan with a leg lariat and goes right back to the arm and shoulder. CMD with a hammerlock bear hug, owwwww. Kat out to land a couple of straight rights but Dan with a trap pin into a Fujiwara armbar. Kat with the jaw jack and a seated senton, hip attack and cannonball to the corner. Kick out! Kat wants the piledriver but Dan with a sunset flip pin attempt. Kat wants a heat seeker piledriver but Dan kicks her back and hits a springboard Code Red for two. Dan wants Surf’s Up but Kat with punches and a pump kick, Dan rebounds with a flying headbutt for two. Kat wants the piledriver but Dan rolls her up for two. Kat reverses the roll up and the ref counts the three. CMD thinks it’s a two but the ref backs him off as a shocked Allie Kat takes her victory.

Winner: Allie Kat

These two were all fight and no bs in this one. Photo finish on the pin, these two had a LOT of fight in there. Loving CMD’s level of aggression lately.

Match 8: KOBK (Nolan Edward & Hardway Heeter) vs Lost Boys (Hoodfoot Mo Atlas & Chase Holliday)

Both teams head to head and in each other’s faces until the first bell. Chaos right from the start, who cares about rules, these teams wanna punch. Hoodfoot takes Heeter head off with a haymaker. Lost Boys putting Nolan to the test with strikes, clotheslines, sentons and a seated lariat. Hoodfoot with a flying crossbody to the outside to KOBK. Nolan and Hoodfoot trading slaps on the outside. Heeter finally recovers enough to stun Atlas. Heeter with a reverse chokeslam and a corkscrew neckbreaker to Atlas. Heeter says “I’m sorry”as he  uses Edward as a weapon and suplexes him onto the Hoodfoot for two. Chase back in while Nolan recovers, devolving to a fist fight at ringside. Hoodfoot backdrops Nolan to the apron. Lost Boys isolates Heeter and throws him into a support beam at ringside. Nolan dives out at them and throws his partner back in the ring. Heeter almost hits a piledriver.....Nolan makes the assist to powerbomb the big man. Nolan gets caught coming in. Chase crumples Heeter, Lost Boys with a lariat sandwich. Chase throws Heeter into the arms of Hoodfoot for a powerbomb. Heeter tries to kick at two but his shoulders stay firm in the stack for the three count.

Winner: Lost Boys

Great big fight energy here. These teams tried to kill each other in the name of violence. And it’s fitting, since that is who the Lost Boys clearly want a shot at in the near future.

Main Event: AJ Gray(c) vs Manders vs AC Mack (for the SUP Bonestorm Championship)

Gray took the Bonestorm title from AC Mack last October at “Swing of the Axe”, after the former champ had made a successful (but dubious) defense of the title. Mack is furious that this is triple threat because Manders doesn’t deserve to be in this ring. Manders decks Mack and goes to town on him while Gray hangs back, amused. Gray breaks up the pin because he’s not THAT amused and gets himself into a chop fight with the big cowboy. Manders with a body attacks and shoulder blocks. Mack is back but eats a shoulder. It’s worth noting Mack has yet to remove his entrance gear. Mack lets Manders and Gray fight it out before throwing Gray through the corner to the floor. Uggggggly landing. Mack finally gets his gear off as he hits a running dropkick to Manders, keeping the current champ in frame. Mack getting too hot at the commentary team and Manders slaps himself back into the driver’s seat. Mack with a flying body block for two as Gray makes it back into the contest. Gray’s lariat-throwing arm is clearly hurting him so he drops Mack with a rolling back kick. Gray chopping off Mack’s chest off, AC avoids the lariat and hits a flatliner for two. Manders caught coming in with a small package. Manders back with a doctor bomb for two on AC. More chops to the Mack of all Trades. Gray back into it, pulls Manders off the top from an electric chair for a pin attempt. Mack off the top with a double stomp and Gray is screaming about his arm. Mack is showing why he held the Action Championship and SUP Bonestorm belts in tandem, hitting shot after shot on both his opponents. Manders and Gray got too worked into a chop fight. Mack with a superkick to Manders but gets lariated out of his boots when he focused on Gray. Manders with a moonsault to Gray but Mack breaks it up. Series of face kicks from Mander and a back suplex to Mack. Manders wants to hit the Oklahoma Stampede on Mack but Derek Neal is out with Manders cowbell and lays him out with it. Neal and Manders fighting around the ringside area and disappear into the locker room. Mack and Gray are one on one finally. Gray and Mack trading shots, Gray with a back kick, wants to go for the big lariat. Mack with a blatant low blow and sets up the Mack-10. Gray tries the lariat, Mack dodges again but eats a rolling kick in the corner. Mack whiffs a Yakuza kick on a whip and Gray lands the big lariat that definitely brings AC Mack down for the three count.

Winner (And Stilllllll): AJ Gray

Backstage, Manders is furious that he’s been screwed over in back-to-back title matches. Manders ain’t letting what Derek Neal did go.

Epic main event war that picked up right where we left off in October. Mack was desperate to get his belt back. Manders was fighting for his fair chance at the title. Gray was fighting to keep his arm intact. Good hard hitting triple threat here. All sorts of wild energy throughout this thing.

And that’s it for “Are These Our Lives”! S.U.P. has made their grand return to the rebuilt Basement East in highly entertaining style. The editing of this show was as frantic as the energy of the matches....or the screaming of Righteous Jesse. Never a dull moment through this, everyone was bringing their A-game (and their potty mouths). This was nine blistering matches in just under 2 hours. Everything delivered, just watch all of it. :)

S.U.P. returns in a few weeks as part of IWTV’s Showcase of the Independents on Mania week, running a co-branded show with ACTION Wrestling, “Have Fun, Be Sad”. The main event is SUP Tag Champs Violence is Forever vs Impact Tag Champions FinJuice. Gimme. That. Until then!
