Impact Wrestling opened with AEW Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis entering the Impact Zone.

Impact recapped the last few weeks of Impact activity.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo (with Susan) vs. Jazz (with Jordynne Grace)

They locked up and Jazz backed the champion into the corner but broke free.  Purrazzo hid between the ropes to former the former WWE Divas Champion to back up.  Purrazzo was able to take her down to the mat and locked on a front facelock.  Jazz slipped out and went for a hammerlock.  Jazz controlled her on the mat but Purrazzo kept kicking out of pinfall attempts.  Purrazzo lost her cool and charged but was taken down again.  Jazz continued to control her with strikes and took her down with a right hook.  Purrazzo tripped her into the ropes, where Susan tried to get involved but was popped in the mouth.

Purrazzo hit a leaping pump kick on Jazz and then drilled her back with a series of knees.  Purrazzo peppered her across the chest with clubbing blows, scoring a two count.  Jazz made a comeback with a series of forearms.  Purrazzo whipped her into the corner but missed a charge and drilled the ring post shoulder first.  Jazz and Deonna battled back and forth with forearms.  Jazz whipped her into the ropes and nailed a series of clotheslines and a back elbow.  The story was that Jazz was out-striking the champion but Deonna kept kicking up at at two.  Jazz covered Purrazzo but Susan put her foot on the ropes.  Grace went after Susan but was knocked into the ring post.  Susan channeled her best JJ Dillon and nailed Jazz with a shoe, setting up Purrazzo to get the win.

Your winner, Deonna Purrazzo.

Solid match.

Backstage, the Good Brothers are trying to tell their war stories but it's not getting the usual reaction.  Eddie Edwards walked in and said a few weeks ago, they were too good to be with everyone else but now they are trying to hang out with the rest of the boys.  He told them to go elsewhere and they aren't welcome.  The Good Brothers said they were going to go hang out with Kenny and Don anyway.  As they left, they passed Decay, who mocked them for losing the belts and their locker room popularity.

They aired a video piece on Johnny Swinger opening his underground casino thanks to the money he stole from Hernandez.   It was pretty damn awesome and slimy.

Rohit Raju was wandering around backstage and nearly tripped over a sleeping Fallah Bahh, who was sleeping in the studio as if he was homeless.  He admitted he's hit a rough patch.  Raju said he looked and smelled bad and is a gambling addict.  He told Bahh to get himself together because his entire life is a rough patch.  Bahh threatened to put his fist down his throat and said he'll see him in the ring.

Matt Striker and D'Lo Brown ran down the lineup for tonight.

X-Division Champion Ace Austin (with Madman Fulton) vs. TJP

Some very nice back and forth wrestling early on.  TJP tied up Ace but Austin slipped out.  They went to a test of strength but Austin drilled TJP with a kick and took him back to the mat.  TJP uses a spinning headscissor to take Austin back to the mat.  They went back and forth with counters until TJP nailed a dropkick.  Austin nailed a nice springboard kick for a two count.  He sent TJP into the ropes but missed and went through the ropes as he charged.  TJP nailed a pescado to the outside.  Austin rebounded and scored with a series of kicks.  They battled to the top, where Austin nailed a top rope Gourdbuster, sending TJP crashing to the mat below.

After a commercial, TJP was trapped in a single-leg crab but the champion made it to the ropes.  Austin cut him off with a kick and a knee strike before using a modified armbar while scissoring the body.  They continuing battling back and forth. Austin was sent into the buckles.  TJP scored with a series of pinfalls.  He went for the Detonation Kick but Austin fired his way out with elbows and hit a spinning kick.  Austin came off the top with a leaping legdrop off the top for a two count.  Austin took the fight to TJP, beating the hell out of him with rough strikes.  TJP caught him with a variation on an exploder and locked in an Octopus.  Fulton tried to push the ropes towards Austin but TJP shifted him away.  TJP dove off the ropes to nail Fulton and went to the top but Fulton distracted him.  TJP went for the Mamba Splash but the distraction allowed Austin to recover and he pulled him into a forward roll for a two count.

The battle continued.  Austin escaped a Detonation Kick and nailed a double stomp.  He charged but was snapped into the Detonation Kick.  TJP nailed the Mamba Splash and covered him but Fulton broke up the pinfall and beat the hell out of TJP.

Your winner, TJP by DQ!

Austin retains.  TJP was being beaten down but Josh Alexander made the save with a steel chair and ran them off.

Matt Cardona sat down with Gia Miller for an interview.  Cardona said the only thing he ever wanted to do with his life was being a pro wrestler and he can't wait to team or wrestle everyone in the locker room.  He loves being in Impact.  He said you have to be always ready and that's the way he lives his life.  You have to be hungry at all times for the business and even when you hit rock bottom, you have to stay in love with the business.  Cardona was asked about Brian Myers saying that Cardona was riding his coat tails and followed him here.  Cardona said it's just a coincidence.  They've been best friends since they were 18.  They have a podcast network but he's not here for Brian.  He's not here to team with him and he's not here to fight him.  If Myers wants to fight, he's issuing a challenge for them to face off and win, lose or draw, when it's over, they are done.

Backstage, Trey Miguel got into it with XXL over disrespecting his bag.  Tommy Dreamer broke up the argument and told them they have an exploding barbed wire ring match at Hardcore Justice.  XXXL told Dreamer it went well.  Dreamer said people love sparklers.  Trey said he wants a fight.  He wants to fight Acey Romero tonight.  Dreamer tried to get him to calm down and said he had someone get in his head and it changed his career forever, obviously meaning Raven.  He warned Trey not to let it happen to him.

Rohit Raju vs. Fallah Bahh

The story early on was that Raju kept avoiding Bahh's moves, including a high cross body.  Raju worked over Bahh and controlled him on the mat with a wristlock.   Bahh shoved him off and nailed a palm strike, then nailed a big slam on Raju.  He pulled him into the corner for a Banzai Splash but Raju slipped out of the way.  Raju came off the top with a double stomp for a two count.  Raju charged but was drilled with a headbutt.  Bahh set up for an Avalanche but Raju leapt out with a leaping knee strike.  He went for a sunset flip but Bahh held on and went for an Earthquake splash.  Raju moved and rolled him up, hooking the tights for the pin.

Your winner, Rohit Raju!

Gia Miller tried to interview AEW Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis but they blew it off.

Omega and Callis joined Tony Khan  and Tony Schiavone for the AEW Paid Ad.  Omega said there was no chance Matt Sydal can beat him and they walked off to disrespect Khan and Schiavone.

AEW Champion Kenny Omega and Don Callis went to the ring to cut a promo.  Omega complained about the mic not working.  Don said he can fire anyone he wants as they are do for a house cleaning.  Callis said Omega will soon have the title that represents this company.  Callis said he spoke with Rich Swann last week and told him how great he is an athlete and as a human being.  Callis said you have to be a good person to work here and Swann is a great person.  Swann can make all the money, have a beautiful family and make a miraculous recovery from a broken leg but the one thing he can't escape is the one-winged angel.  They said it will be a highlight for the company ever and it's going to be trapped in Swann's head forever.  Omega said no one has ever kicked out of that move and Swann is no exception.  Callis said that Omega needs more gold and after he beats Swann for the Impact title, he's going to be bigger than a bunch of names.  Omega said, "Bigger than Ibushi!"  New Japan fans just leaned forward.  Callis said they want the best here.  Swann wants the best.  Callis said he will suck every drop of blood from every talent and every person in this company if it helps Kenny Omega.  Swann may be great but it's going to all come down to the one-winged angel.

Callis revealed a video piece on the "greatest finishing move" in the history of pro wrestling, the One-Winged Angel.  After the video, Callis asked Kenny if Swann liked the video.  Omega said from the second he came here, there was a fear in the locker room because the greatest had arrived in Impact.  There was no reason for him to come beyond the title Swann holds.  Rich wants to have his name etched in history but he'll just be a footnote.  He said the day he arrived in Impact, it was the greatest thing in the history of Impact but it was just another Tuesday for him.  He said the fears of everyone is true - no one can step up to him and unless he slips of a bananna peel or gets a virus, he will hold the titles until he's cold and dead in the ground.  He said that he's coming for Swann and he's coming for the titles.  He said that it's about history.

Don Callis said that at Rebellion, they are going to do what they have been planning for 27 years - they will make history.  Hell of a promo!

We went to a video piece on Violence by Design.  This was a tremendous video revealing a more psycho version of Rhino.

Backstage, Neveah and Havok talked up going for the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Titles but Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz showed up and dared them to step up.  They acted like there was no way they win.  The champs walked off.  Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb With A K showed up and and Dashwood tried to again get Neveah to side over to their side as Dashwood's partner.  The idea was that she was stirring issues between the two friends.

Acey Romero with Larry D vs. Trey Miguel

Miguel went right after Romero but could hardly budge him.  Romero caught him coming with a big uranage.  Trey went to the floor.  Romero went for a sliding kick but missed.  Trey nailed a dive.  He came off the ropes but was caught and slammed.  After a commercial, Romero was working over Trey.  Trey fired back but had his legs taken out.  Romero splashed his back.  Trey barely kicked out.  Romero went for a power move but Trey slips out and nailed several kicks.  He nailed a jumping neckbreaker off the ropes.  Trey began drilling him with a series of kicks and strikes.  He nailed an enziguiri on Romero for a two count.

Miguel went for a springboard but was hit with a Pounce.   Miguel came back with a series of kicks to take Romero down and hit a springboard cutter.  He then came off the top with a Meteora and scored the pin.

Your winner, Trey Miguel!

Larry D attacked him and XXXL worked over Trey.  Sami Callihan "hacked" in and attacked Romero with a baseball bat.  Callihan grabbed D.  Trey superkicked D.  Sami turned off the lights and disappeared, leaving a seething Trey in the ring.

Gia Miller interviewed Impact Champion Rich Swann.  He joked that showing a highlight video and some jive talking weren't going to get in his mind.  If they do, they don't really know him.  He's been fighting his entire life.  Fighting broken legs.  Broken backs.  Early retirement.  If they think a little talk is going to scare him, they are wrong.  He said every time they stepped into the ring, he had the best of Omega in every situation.  All he has to do is watch out for the one-winged angel and he has a few tricks to defend himself from that move, but what's Omega going to do to deal with him?  He said he's ready to go all night long.

Gia then interviewed James Storm and Chris Sabin.  He's had 999 matches in Impact.  He's going to make the 1,000th match special with a bunch of beer.  He said Violent by Design is trying to run things here.  He said he has done it all and challenged Eric Young to take him on any time.  Scott D'Amore showed up and said he heard what they were saying.  Next week, it's Storm vs. EY in the 1000th match in the main event.  Storm told Young he was sorry about his damn luck.

Announced for next week:

James Storm vs. Eric Young.

AEW Champion Kenny Omega to appear.

Knockouts Tag Team Champions Fire N' Flayva vs. Havok & Neveah (non-title)

Ace Austin & Madman Fulton vs. Josh Alexander & TJP.

Eddie Edwards vs. Karl Anderson

They noted this was the first-ever meeting of the two in the ring.

Some nice back and forth wrestling early on.  Edwards nailed an inverted atomic drop followed by an clothesline.  Edwards nailed a dive onto Anderson and Gallows as they went to commercial.

When they returned, Edwards continued the assault in the ring, working over Anderson with chops.    Gallows and the referee had words so Gallows sat in a chair outside.  Anderson sent Edwards into the ring post, then sent him back into the ring, covering him for a near fall.  Anderson was all over Edwards and whipped him hard into the buckles with authority.  Edwards was trapped in a chinlock and worked over on the mat for some time.

Anderson wore down Edwards for a long time as Edwards kept fighting to survive.  He finally fought to his feet and tried to punch his way out but was whipped into the buckles  Edwards exploded out with a clothesline and began drilling him with hard chops.  Edwards lifted and tossed Anderson with a gourd buster.  Edwards nailed the Backpack stunner for a close two count.  Anderson fired back but was caught with a Blue Thunder Bomb for a close two count.

They meet in the middle of the ring, firing back and forth with right hands and forearms.  Anderson cut off Edwards with a stiff European uppercut.  Edwards fired back with a headbutt but Anderson charged with a running push kick for a close two count.  Anderson went for a stunner but was shoved off and Edwards nailed a roaring elbow.  Gallows tried to get involved, distracting Edwards.  Edwards rolled up Anderson, who kicked out.  Edwards was sent into the ropes where Gallows nailed him with a steel chair.  He staggered into an Anderson spinebuster and was pinned.

Your winner, Karl Anderson!

On the video screen, Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions FinJuice sent their regards from Japan and talked about big wins in major cities.  They said they were going to have a few drinks in The Good Brothers' honor, mocking them.
