NEW JAPAN CUP FINALS, YOH RETURNS, NEW NOAH GHC NATIONAL CHAMPION CROWNED AND MORE FROM JAPAN

New Japan Pro Wrestling held its thirteenth and final New Japan Cup tour show today in Xebio Arena Sendai.

The full results were:

YOH returned from injury during the show and challenged El Desperado and Yoshinobu Kanemaru to a IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships match on behalf of SHO and himself.

YOH tore his ACL during his New Japan Cup match against BUSHI last June. He and SHO held the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships at the time but SHO was forced to vacate the titles.

Will Ospreay defeated Shingo Takagi to win the New Japan Cup. As a result, Ospreay will be Kota Ibushi’s first challenger for the new IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at Sakura Genesis on April 4.

Ospreay hit an OsCutter on his girlfriend Bea Priestley after the match.

Pro Wrestling NOAH held its NOAH The Infinity 2021 show today in Korakuen Hall.

Nioh challenged Atsushi Kotoge for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship. The match will take place at NOAH’s show on April 18 in Korakuen Hall.

Kaito Kiyomiya came to the ring after the first match. He did not wrestle on today’s show due to a concussion he suffered unsuccessfully challenging Keiji Mutoh for the GHC Heavyweight Championship on March 14 at Great Voyage 2021 in Fukuoka.

Kiyomiya announced he will return to NOAH at its show on April 3 in Yokohama Radiant Hall and he will still compete at Pro Wrestling ZERO1’s show on March 27 at the Yasukuni Shrine in Tokyo (where he will team with Junta Miyawaki against Kinya Okada and Yoshiki Inamura).

HAYATA and Yoshinari Ogawa made their fourth successful defense of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against Daisuke Harada and Miyawaki.

Ikuto Hidaka and NOSAWA Rongai attacked HAYATA and Ogawa afterwards and posed with the titles. The match will take place at NOAH’s show on April 29 in Nagoya.

Kazuyuki Fujita defeated Kenoh to win the GHC National Championship in the main event. Takashi Sugiura challenged Fujita for the title afterwards and the match will also take place at NOAH’s show on April 29 in Nagoya.

NOAH has announced the full cards for its show on April 3 in Yokohama Radiant Hall, April 4 in Act City Hamamatsu and April 18 in Korakuen Hall.
