3/20 NEW JAPAN RESULTS FROM SENDAI, JAPAN

From Sendai, Japan:

1 - Yuya Uemura and Juice Robinson vs. Great O-Khan and Jeff Cobb

Cobb pins Uemura with a Tour of the Islands.   

2 - SHO, YOSHI-HASHI and Toru Yano vs. Jado, Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale

Yano hits a low blow on Jado and rolls him up for the pin.

3 - BUSHI, SANADA and Tetsuya Naito vs. DOUKI, Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi

SANADA locks Skull End on DOUKI and he taps out.

Really good tag match.  SANADA and ZSJ always wrestle well against each other.

4 - Kazuchika Okada, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kota Ibushi vs. Yujiro Takahashi, KENTA and Jay White, with Gedo

After all men arrived to the ring to start the match, there was a pause in the match and the event due to an 7.1 earthquake which hit the area.   The epicenter of the earthquake was apparently in Sendai, in the eastern area of Japan.  The officials needed to check the structural damage and safety check the building.

The wrestlers exited the ring and waited.   Fans remained in their seats.   There was no panic. Everyone was patient until the officials gave the “all clear”.

The announced that there may be aftershocks but they would continue with the event.

Bullet Club returned to the ring.   Jay White had stolen the Double Championships and the NEVER Openweight Title, and brought them all back to the ring.   Tanahashi and Ibushi attacked Bullet Club as the got in the ring.

Okada was battling Takahashi but he refused to tag Ibushi.   Ibushi did not look happy.   Ibushi tagged himself in and Okada did not look pleased.

Ibushi hit Kamagoye on Takahashi for the pin and the win.

Okada left ringside immediately.    They are teasing a potential conflict between Okada and Ibushi.

5 - New Japan Cup 2021 Semi Final Match:  David Finlay vs. Will Ospreay, with Bea Priestley 

Both men are aerial wrestlers and they are flying around the ring.   Too much to recap here. Great match.  Finlay went for an Acid Drop but Ospreay threw him over the top rope.  Finlay immediately grabbed his ankle.   The doctors came to check on Finlay as the referee counted him out.   Finlay makes it back into the ring at 19.   Ospreay applied a Figure Four leg lock.    Ospreay took off his boot and started twisting his foot around.   Finlay makes it to the ropes.   Ospreay went for an Oscutter but Finlay hit a stunner.   Finlay goes for an Acid Drop with his bad leg.   Ospreay blocks it and hits Storm Breaker.   Ospreay pins Finlay.

Will Ospreay moves onto the Finals.    

Coming after an earthquake scare, both men performed well.   Finlay refused help and walked to the locker on his own power.

6 - New Japan Cup 2021 Semi Final Match:  Shingo Takagi vs. EVIL, with Dick Togo

Togo interferes quickly in the match distracting Takagi.    EVIL throws Takagi into the guardrails and suplexes him onto a stack of chairs.    Togo took off the turnbuckle and EVIL throws Takagi into the steel bolt.   Takagi counters with a shoulder block and a lariat.   Takagi hits a Noshigame and a sliding lariat.    EVIL blocks a Last of the Dragon and hits a back breaker.

EVIL hits a superplex and applies a Scorpion Death Lock.    Takagi makes it to the ropes.   Takagi hits his own version of Everything is Evil.  They both trade elbows and lariats.   Togo jumps in the ring and EVIL blasts Takagi with a chair.   EVIL hits a lariat.  Two count.   EVIL hits Darkness Falls.   Two count.    Takagi with Made in Japan.  Two count.    EVIL pushes Takagi into the referee who goes flying.    EVIL hits a low blow on Takagi and a Magic Killer with Togo.    Two count.    Takagi flattens EVIL and Togo with Pumping Bombers.    

Takagi blocks a low blow and hits another Pumping Bomber.   Takagi hits Last of the Dragon.   Takagi pins EVIL.

Shingo Takagi faces Will Ospreay in the New Japan Cup 2021 Finals tomorrow night.

Shingo takes the mic and thanks the fans for sticking with them tonight.    He said he is beat up but he will continue to fight tomorrow against Ospreay.    Ospreay comes to the ring.

Takagi tells Ospreay that at the Best of Super Juniors in 2019, Ospreay won.  Tomorrow, Takagi says he will will this time.

Ospreay attacks Takagi and tries for Storm Breaker.    He reverses out and knocks Ospreay from the ring.   Takagi tells Ospreay that he will beat him tomorrow night.   A frustrated Ospreay leaves the ringside area.   

Tomorrow’s Finals match should be awesome!
