TANAHASHI TALKS, JUN KASAI, KAWAKAMI HEADING TO GLEAT AND MORE FROM JAPAN

Big Japan Pro Wrestling and GLEAT held a joint press conference today to announce Ryuichi Kawakami will join GLEAT at the end of the month.

Kawakami will finish his remaining commitments in Big Japan, singles match against Yuji Okabayashi on March 20 and Daisuke Sekimoto on March 28, before joining GLEAT on April 1.

Last month, Kawakami unsuccessfully challenged Yasufumi Nakanoue for the BJW Strong World Heavyweight Championship and lost the BJW Tag Team Championships, formerly held with Kazumi Kikuta, to Fuminori Abe and Takuya Nomura.

Kawakami will join Daijiro Matsui, Kaz Hayashi, Minoru Tanaka, Souma Watanabe, Takanori Ito, Yu Iizuka and #STRONGHEARTS quartet CIMA, El Lindaman, Issei Onizuka and T-Hawk on GLEAT’s growing roster.

All Japan Pro Wrestling

All Japan Pro Wrestling will hold a show with only one match on the card for the first time in company history tomorrow in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring.

Jun Kasai will attempt his second defense of the GAORA TV Championship against Shuji Ishikawa in a deathmatch.

The show will air live on AJPW TV tomorrow at 7pm JST, 10am BST, 6am ET.

New Japan Pro Wrestling

New Japan Pro Wrestling has uploaded the forty-seventh edition of Hiroshi Tanahashi’s Ace’s HIGH autobiographical interview series on its website.

Topics discussed include his Tokyo Dome match against Katsuyori Shibata in 2006, Shinsuke Nakamura and Yoshitatsu’s heated rivalry, his thoughts on Hiroshi Nagao leaving New Japan for HUSTLE and more.
