OSPREAY VS. SABRE JR., SANADA VS. NAGATA & MORE: 3/14 NJPW CUP RESULTS FROM HYOGO, JAPAN

3/14/21 Results for the New Japan Cup 2021 From Hyogo, Japan:

Yuya Uemura, Yota Tsuji and David Finlay vs. Toru Yano, Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI.  Ishii pins Tsuji after a lariat.

DOUKI, Taichi and Minoru Suzuki vs. Chase Owens, Bad Luck Fale and KENTA.  Owens pins DOUKI after a Package Piledriver.  Suzuki and KENTA continued their battle from last night.  If their feud continues, that would be awesome.

SHO, Kazuchika Okada and Hirooki Goto vs.  BUSHI, Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi.  SHO pins BUSHI after a Shock Arrow.

Toa Henare, Juice Robinson and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Yujiro Takahashi, EVIL with Dick Togo and Jay White with Gedo.  Tanahashi pins Takahashi after a High Fly Flow.

New Japan Cup 2021 Round 2 Match:  Yuji Nagata vs. SANADA

The match began with headlocks and arm locks.   They battled on the floor and SANADA hit a Piledriver on the ring floor.   Nagata makes it back in before the count out and SANADA goes for headlocks.   He working on the neck for Skull End.   Nagata fights back with striking kicks.  SANADA hits a dropkick and a TKO.   SANADA hits a Magic Killer, but misses a moonsault.   Nagata tries to rally but he is shaking his head.    Nagata with an Exploder Suplex on SANADA from the top rope.   Nagata applies a crossface submission.   SANADA gets to the ropes to escape the hold.    Nagata hits a Magic Killer of his own.  Two count.   SANADA reverses out of a suplex and locks in Skull End.   Nagata breaks the hold with an ankle submission.    Both men throw elbows to their heads.  SANADA locks in Skull End again.    Nagata was about to submit when SANADA let go then jumped to the top rope and hit a moonsault.    SANADA pins Nagata.

SANADA moves on in the New Japan Cup 2021.   

Good match.   Nagata still can perform at a high level. 

New Japan Cup 2021 Round 2 Match:   Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Will Ospreay

Ospreay was wearing tape on his right shoulder due to the attack by ZSJ last night.

Match starts off fast with Ospreay hitting several aerial moves and tried for an early Oscutter.   Too much to recap here.   Both men know each other so well.   Ospreay got his nose bloodied during the match.

Ospreay hits a Storm Breaker for the pinfall win.

The referee got a towel to cover Ospreay’s bloody nose for COVID-19 protocols.

Great match.  Both men wrestled like heels and beat the hell out of each other.

Ospreay will face SANADA in the next Round.

The New Japan Cup 2021 continues tomorrow with the following Round 2 matches:

David Finlay vs. YOSHI-HASHI
Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Jay White
