STRONGHEARTS SIGN THE DOTTED LINE, NEW JAPAN CUP, NARUKI DOI RERURNING AND MORE FROM JAPAN

GLEAT held a press conference today to announce the signing of #STRONGHEARTS members CIMA, El Lindaman, Issei Onizuka and T-Hawk.

GLEAT announced it will hold two shows in Shinjuku FACE on May 26 and June 9. The May 26 show will be held under professional wrestling rules while the June 9 show will be held under UWF rules. GLEAT’s show on July 1 in Tokyo Dome City Hall will be a mix of professional wrestling rules and UWF rules.

It seems GLEAT’s roster will be split into two divisions. Although it is far too early to make assumptions, it would appear GLEAT’s smaller tour shows will be dedicated to one division while bigger shows will have matches from both divisions.

GLEAT’s first show in October last year had two matches under UWF rules and three matches under professional wrestling rules.

New Japan Pro Wrestling

New Japan Pro Wrestling held its seventh New Japan Cup tour show today in Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium.

The full results were:

KENTA defeated Minoru Suzuki in their New Japan Cup first round match. He will face Shingo Takagi in the second round, who defeated Hirooki Goto in their tournament match today.

New Japan will hold its eighth New Japan Cup tour show tomorrow in Baycom Gymnasium. The full card is:

Masaaki Mochizuki and Takashi Yoshida will attempt their first defense of the Open the Twin Gate Championships against Kenichiro Arai and Yasushi Kanda at Dragon Gate’s Memorial Gate 2021 show on March 27 in Wakayama Prefectural Gym.

Naruki Doi will return from ulnar nerve surgery at Dragon Gate’s third The Gate of Passion 2021 tour show on April 9 in Korakuen Hall. He will team with Dragon Kid and YAMATO against HipHop Kikuta, KAI and SB KENTo.

Also on April 9, Bokutimo Dragon will face Diamante in a máscara contra máscara (mask versus mask) match.

Dragon Gate will hold its sixth Glorious Gate 2021 tour show tomorrow in Onomichi Bingo Sports Park Health Sports Center. The full card is:

Big Japan will hold another show in Niigata tomorrow.

Yoshinari Ogawa will not compete on the show as previously scheduled due to a high fever. However, he has tested negative for COVID-19.

HAYATA will take Ogawa’s place in the singles match against Junta Miyawaki but the match order has been slightly reshuffled to give HAYATA a break before his tag team match teaming with Susumu against Daisuke Harada and Kai Fujimura.

Seiki Yoshioka will attempt his first defense of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship against Atsushi Kotoge.

Yoshioka defeated Harada to win the title at Destination 2021 on February 12 and Kotoge challenged him afterwards.

Keiji Mutoh will attempt his first defense of the GHC Heavyweight Championship against Kaito Kiyomiya in the main event.

Mutoh defeated Go Shiozaki to win the title at Destination 2021 on February 12 and Kiyomiya came to the ring afterwards to signal his intent to challenge Mutoh. The match was made official on February 15.

Kiyomiya also faced Mutoh at NOAH the CHRONICLE vol. 3 last August. Mutoh was victorious.

All Japan Pro Wrestling will hold its third Dream Power Series tour show in Korakuen Hall tomorrow.

Shunma Katsumata will attempt his second defense of the DDT Extreme Championship against Chris Brookes in a barbed wire casket deathmatch.

Akito, Kazuki Hirata and Shota will attempt their third defense of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championships against Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo and Yuji Hino.

Yuki Ueno will attempt his fourth defense of the DDT Universal Championship against Yusuke Okada.
