3/9 NEW JAPAN RESULTS FROM OKAYAMA, JAPAN

From Okayama, Japan:

1 - Yuya Uemura, YOSHI-HASHI and Toru Yano vs. EVIL, with Dick Togo, Yujiro Takahashi and Bad Luck Fale

EVIL forces Uemura to tap out to the Scorpion Death Lock.

2 - Gabriel Kidd, Tomoaki Honma and Satoshi Kojima vs. Great O-Khan, Will Ospreay and Jeff Cobb

Cobb pins Kidd with a Tour of the Islands.  

3 - Toa Henare, David Finlay, Juice Robinson, and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Chase Owens, KENTA, Jay White and Gedo

Henare pins Gedo with a Death Valley Driver.   

Toa Henare beating and pinning Gedo gives more heat for his Round 1 match against Jay White tomorrow.

4 - SHO, Hirooki Goto and Kazuchika Okada vs. BUSHI, Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi 

Goto hit the GTR on BUSHI for the pinfall win.   

Hirooki Goto and Shingo Takagi have words after the match.   Their Round 2 match should be great.   Goto will be looking for revenge, since Takagi beat him for the NEVER Openweight Title last year.

5 - New Japan Cup 1st Round Match:   Yuji Nagata vs. Yota Tsuji 

Good match.   Best match Tsuji match I have seen.  Nagata hits Tsuji with wicked strike kicks and elbows.   Tsuji counters with Lucha style moves which is amazing for his size.  

Nagata pins Tsuji with a back suplex with a bridge.

Tsuji gets a nice applause as he leaves ringside.

Yuji Nagata faces the winner of Tomohiro Ishii vs. SANADA in Round 2.

6 - New Japan Cup 1st Round Match:  Tomohiro Ishii vs. SANADA

Both men traded headlocks and armlocks early in the match, trying to feel each other out.   Soon it becomes a slugfest with kicks and chops.  Ishii was winning this battle.   Ishii hit SANADA with chops in the corner.  The referee tried to separate them but Ishii pushed him to the ground.  SANADA came back with elbow attacks of his own.  Ishii tried to hit a release german suplex on SANADA into the turnbuckle.  SANADA hit the turnbuckle and bounced off and landing on the chest of Ishii.   Ouch!  Ishii hit a superplex for a two count.  SANADA hit a TKO and locked Ishii in Skull End.   Ishii gets to the rope for a break.  SANADA hits a Magic Killer with Ishii's feet on the top rope.  Two count.  SANADA with a Tiger Suplex for a two count.   SANADA hits a moonsault but missed a second moonsault.   They reverse out of each other's finishers.  SANADA hits a pop-up TKO, then a moonsault for a pinfall win.  Great match. 

SANADA wins and advances to Round 2 to face Yuji Nagata.
