From Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Japan:

EVIL forces Tiger Mask to tap to a Scorpion Death Lock.
3 - Master Wato, Satoshi Kojima and Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Great O-Khan, Jeff Cobb and Will Ospreay, with Bea Priestley

4 - New Japan Cup 1st Round Match: Toru Yano vs. Bad Luck Fale
Yano had a long ring introduction as the announcer listed everything Yano was selling. Fale slapped the KOPW trophy out of his hand and broke it again.
Yano pulled out all his tricks but Fale’s power wore him down. Fale tied Yano’s hands around the ring post. Yano was able to low blow Fale and kick him into the guardrails. The referee was counting. Yano was trying to figure out how to get back in the ring. He spun his body around the ring post and slid his legs into the ring, with his arms still tied. The referee counted to 20. Fale was counted out.
Toru Yano moves on to face Great O-Khan in Round 2.
5 - New Japan Cup 1st Round Match: Hirooki Goto vs. Taichi
Zack Sabre Jr. accompanied his partner to ringside.
Taichi stalled at the beginning. He baited Goto into making a mistake and took the advantage by throwing him into the guardrails and choking him with a electric cord.

Hirooki Goto will move on to face the winner of Kazuchika Okada and Shingo Takagi.

Both of these men were in tag teams for most of the past year. In these tournaments, Goto and Taichi can really show what they can do as singles competitors.
