WWE NXT UK REPORT: SATOMURA VERSUS RAY, DRAGUNOV IN ACTION, AND MORE

We start off with a video package for the Kay Lee Ray versus Meiko Satomura NXT UK Women’s Championship Match.

We are in London, England and your announcers are Andy Shepherd and Nigel McGuinness.

Match Number One: Ilja Dragunov versus Sam Gradwell

Gradwell slaps Dragunov and Ilja figures that it is now on. Ilja with a kick to the leg. Dragunov avoids a slap and he takes Gradwell to the mat and applies a head lock. Gradwell blocks a hip toss but Dragunov takes Gradwell to the mat and applies a head and arm choke. Dragunov with another take down and he wants to punch Gradwell but he doesn’t. Gradwell punches Ilja and then kicks and chokes Dragunov.

Gradwell with a double underhook but Dragunov with a back drop and wrist lock. Dragunov with a chop. Dragunov with a running knee into the corner followed by a waist lock but Gradwell escapes. Ilja with a knee lift. Gradwell asks if that is all he’s got and Ilja with a jumping boot to the head. Ilja goes to the turnbuckles and connects with a knee drop. Ilja goes up top again.

Gradwell hits the ropes and crotches Ilja. Gradwell with a forearm and Ilja chops Gradwell to the mat. Gradwell slaps Dragunov off the turnbuckles to the floor. Gradwell with a forearm to Ilja on the apron. Ilja with a forearm from the apron but Gradwell with an STO. Gradwell gets a near fall. Gradwell with a forearm to the back. Gradwell with boots to the head. Dragunov goes for the leg but Gradwell stays on his feet.

Gradwell with a punch and he gets a near fall. Gradwell with a butterfly suplex for a near fall. Gradwell with a reverse chin lock. Gradwell traps the arms and Gradwell says something to Ilja about letting his family down. Ilja with a head butt and a clothesline. Dragunov stomps on the arm and then he picks up Gradwell and kicks Gradwell in the chest and chops Gradwell’s back. Gradwell slaps Ilja and Ilja with a German suplex and he holds on.

Gradwell with elbows but Ilja holds on to the waist lock and he hits another German suplex. Ilja returns to the waist lock. Gradwell backs Ilja into the ropes and Gradwell with an elbow and slap but Ilja with an enzuigiri. Ilja goes up top and hits the back senton. Ilja sets for Torpedo Moscow but Gradwell drops down and Ilja hits the turnbuckles and the turnbuckle pad falls off. Gradwell chops Ilja in the back and connects with a forearm. Ilja with elbows to Gradwell and he gets Gradwell in a crucifix and Ilja continues with the elbows and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Ilja Dragunov

After the match, Ilja stops but he does not release the grip and he resumes with more elbows.

Officials come to the ring and Ilja threatens to punch the referee until he is talked down. Ilja apologizes for what he did.

Gradwell tells Ilja ‘Well done’.

Ilja tries to apologize to the referee but he is told to go to the back.

We see Kay Lee Ray in the back as she gets ready for her match against Meiko Satomura.

We go to a video about Lucky Kid. Can you believe that a man who fought much harder than everyone else be able to provide for his family. He says he would fight for his family. It is not about how rich you are. It is how hard you fight to get people to honor and respect you. It is how far you will go to get people to be afraid of you. He says he is Teoman.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Xia Brookside and Aleah James are having a snack and Aleah is a little thirsty. Xia gets Nina to make some tea. We see Nina prepare the tea and she puts something in it and Aleah leaves so Nina’s plan is foiled.

It is time for the SuperNova Sessions with Noam Dar.

He says with all of the love and praise he has gotten, he wants to share.

Noam brings out his guest, Tyler Bate.

Noam asks Tyler if he thinks he needs a haircut and Tyler says he looks okay.

Noam asks Tyler about his new attitude. He asks who is Zen.

Tyler says he wants to be able to have a deeper understanding of himself because a true understanding of yourself is true power.

Noam asks if it means no matter how hard someone tries to push all of your buttons, you won’t react.

Noam asks Tyler how old he is and Tyler says he is 23.

Noam brings up all that Tyler has accomplished and about the career he has had. Noam asks if two vegans fight if it is still called a beef.

Noam says he has prepared a nice vegan meal for Tyler and he drops Noam’s broccoli. Noam says no meal is complete without garnish and he puts it on the broccoli. He asks Tyler if he is feeling pretty zen.

Noam asks if Zen helped him against A-Kid.

Tyler says he does not feel bad about his loss because we lose only what we cling to.

Noam brings up Tyler’s match next week against Dave Mastiff.

Tyler says he has had his sights set on the Heritage Cup. He faced A-Kid and lost. One bump on the road will not stop him. He says next week’s match will be under Heritage Cup Rules. Tyler says where fear ends, life begins. Tyler gets up and Noam falls back onto the couch when Tyler teases a punch.

Tyler says he is no doormat.

We take a look at Ben Carter training at the Performance Centre. He is asked about how he has been doing so far in NXT UK. He says he started his career in the US so he never learned the ‘British’ style. He has a legend helping him with the techniques. He is loving life right now.

We have a video package for Aleah James. She says she would watch the women’s matches. Her favorites were Mickie James and Melina. She says she started training at 18 and found it was difficult, but she enjoyed the challenge. She says that she knows that she will need to improve and get better. She says she can bring what other women cannot bring. She can bring a different style. She never expected this opportunity to come to her so early.

We go to commercial.

We are back with Isla Dawn and she is using a Ouija board. She reveals “chaos” on a mirror.

We see Meiko Satomura preparing for her match against Kay Lee Ray.

Match Number Two: Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan versus Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter

Williams and Carter start things off and Carter with a wrist lock and Williams escapes. Carter with a sunset flip for a near fall. Carter with another near fall. Carter with an Irish whip and a running kick into the corner followed by an arm drag. Williams misses a few kicks. They shake hands and Williams goes for the leg but Carter escapes.

Smith tags in and Carter trips Williams and Smith with a running shoulder tackle. Smith with a forearm and judo throw. Jordan tags in and applies a side head lock and takes Smith to the mat. Smith goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Jordan lands on his feet and returns to the side head lock. Jordan with a cross body for a near fall. Jordan with a reverse chin lock. Smith with a knee in the corner and Carter tags in and punches Jordan in the midsection.

Carter with forearms and European uppercuts. Jordan with a forearm and Carter with a forearm of his own. Carter with a sunset flip and he passes Jordan into Smith and Smith drops Jordan on Carter’s feet. Smith with a clothesline for a near fall. Smith with a chop and he tags Carter back in. Carter with a forearm and chops. Carter with a back elbow and he gets a near fall. Carter gets another near fall. Smith tags in and Jordan with chops and Smith responds with a European uppercut. Smith with a forearm to the back and another forearm but Jordan with a back slide for a near fall. Jordan with an enzuigiri and Williams tags in. Williams with forearms and a springboard back elbow and a drop kick to knock Carter off the apron.

Smith catches Williams on a springboard move and tries for a power bomb but Williams counters with a Code Red for a near fall. Williams sends Smith to the floor and Carter is sent to the apron and Williams kicks Smith and Carter off the apron when they go for Silly String. Williams and Jordan with stereo suicide dives. Williams sends Smith back into the ring. Jordan tags in and Williams with a victory bomb and Jordan with a swanton for a near fall when Carter makes the save. Carter with a cannonball to Williams. Carter tags in and Smith propels Carter onto Williams with a 450 splash for a near fall. Williams with a pescado to Smith. Jordan gets a near fall. Williams breaks up a cover by Carter and Jordan gets the three count.

Winners: Amir Jordan and Kenny Williams

We take a look at the history behind the first Mixed Tag match in NXT UK history. Piper Niven says Jinny has Joseph Conners in her corner. Piper mentions how Jinny has cost her the NXT UK women’s title. Joseph says that he feels bad for Jack Starz for being pulled into this match. Jinny says that she pities Jack and says he is a nothing. Jack says you will underestimate them.

We go to commercial.

We are back with Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan celebrating their victory and they are asked about their win. Kenny says they are going to face Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster next week. Jordan says they are going to be contenders for the tag titles.

Match Number Three: Meiko Satomura versus Kay Lee Ray for the NXT UK Women’s Championship

They lock up and Ray backs Satomura into the ropes and gives a clean break. Satomura wants a test of strength and Satomura with a wrist lock and take down. Ray with a hammer lock. Ray sends Satomura shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Ray continues with the hammer lock. Satomura with a back body drop and Ray goes to the floor.

Satomura with a wrist lock and kicks to the chest. Satomura with a knee drop for a near fall. Ray with chops and a drop kick for a near fall. Ray goes for a suplex but Satomura blocks it and Ray with a rolling mare and kick to the head for a near fall. Ray chops Satomura and Satomura with a back heel kick. Satomura misses a round kick but connects on a second kick. Satomura with an STF. Ray crawls to the ropes to force a break.

Satomura with a kick to the hamstring and thigh. Ray kicks Satomura away and Ray with a gourdbuster into a Koji Clutch. Ray with a kick. Ray with a seated abdominal stretch. Ray with kicks to the chest. Satomura blocks a kick and Ray slaps Satomura. Satomura with a spinning heel kick. Satomura with kicks in the corner. The referee warns Satomura. Ray trips Satomura as she comes off the ropes. Ray hangs Satomura over the edge of the apron and Ray sets for a hanging DDT onto the floor and hits it. Ray kicks Satomura on the apron and she returns to the ring. Ray goes back to the apron and she tries for a Gory Bomb onto the apron but Satomura escapes the hold. Ray with punches. Satomura with a Death Valley Driver onto the apron. Ray rolls back into the ring at nine. Satomura with a kick and DDT. Satomura with a round off into a knee drop to the back. Satomura goes for a Saito suplex but Ray blocks it with elbows. Satomura with a Saito suplex and Satomura gets a near fall. Satomura tries to get Ray up but Ray blocks it. Satomura with a kick to the chest. Ray with a tornado DDT for a near fall. Ray reapplies the Koji Clutch but Satomura rolls Ray up and gets a near fall. Ray returns to the hold and Satomura gets her foot on the ropes to force the break. Ray goes to the turnbuckles and Satomura kicks Ray and hits a bicycle kick and Satomura gets Ray on her shoulders for a Death Valley Driver for a near fall. Satomura goes up top and Ray stops her. Ray with a punch to Satomura. Ray sets for a superplex but Satomura goes to the apron and she kicks Ray off the turnbuckles. Satomura goes up top and goes for a frog splash but lands on Ray’s knees. Ray with a thrust kick and she gets Satomura up and hits the Gory Bomb but she takes too long for the cover and Satomura kicks out.

Ray cannot get Satomura up off the mat. Ray with a forearm to the back. Ray pulls Satomura into position. Ray goes to the turnbuckles and misses a swanton when Satomura moves. Ray blocks a Scorpion Kick and Ray tries for the Gory Bomb and Satomura counters with a Code Red for a near fall. Ray with elbows and a super kick. Satomura with a Pele Kick. Ray with a rollup for a near fall. Ray with a Gory Bomb for the three count.

Winner: Kay Lee Ray (retains championship)

After the match, they shake hands and bow to acknowledge each other followed by a hug.
