COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2021-02-24 20:10:00

It's Wednesday and you know what that means.

It's time for AEW Dynamite, we're still at Daily's Place in Jacksonville Florida, and our announcers are Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone.

We start with Jon Moxley on his way to the ring.  They also let us know that Paul Wright has signed with AEW.  Already in the ring is Ryan Nemeth, and we have an inset of him saying he will be a winner tonight.

Jon Moxley vs Ryan Nemeth

Ryan starts by going for a headlock and is tossed off by Mox. He locks in a headlock on his second attempt and Mox tosses him into the ropes and slaps him when he comes off the ropes.  Mox then grabs Ryan and hits a series of crossfaces on Ryan.  Ryan is able to reverse a chop by Mox and hits a series of strikes until Mox hits him wit6h a backdrop suplex.  Mox stomps Ryan's hand and then snaps his fingers in the corner.  Ryan is able to get a boot up when Mox charges him in the corner.  They trade quick corner attacks and Mox ends the match by hitting Ryan with a paradigm shift and covers for the three count.

Your winner: Jon Moxley

Mox has a mic and says that he would do whatever it takes to get his title back.  He says he was willing to crawl through barbed wire to get the tit;le back and that's what he has to do.  He then asks what comes to your mind when you hear exploding barbed wire death match.  He goes over the horror imagery of Japanese wrestling magazines. He asked if you are turned off or get a sick thrill.  He says that he is an addict to being in the ring and the blood sweat and tears of being in the ring. So, the thought is too attractive to him and it pulls him in even if it is a trap.

He says Omega is part of a long line of guys who tried to take him out. Win, lose or draw, we will know that he gave us everything he has. And if it comes to an end at Revolution, it seems like a perfect way to go out.

Strong promo from Mox.

They then show a video recap of the feud between Mox and Kenny Omega.

The announcers give the card for the night. Backstage are Rey Fenix and Lance Archer talking about a qualifying match for the multi-man match at Revolution.

Lance says that he will beat Rey Fenix in the qualifying match. Rey talks Spanish and the announcer says that Rey said Lance is the worst partner he's ever had.  They then start fighting and we go back to the rundown of the card.

We then get a recap of Sting being powerbombed by Brian Cage last week.

We went to commercial and came back to the Inner Circle beat down by the Young Bucks last week, and we see when the Bucks arrived with their parents earlier today.

Back at the arena, the Varsity Blondes, Brian Pillman J. and Griff Garrison are on their way to the ring. Team Taz is out next to the chorus of boos.  Brian Cage and Ricky Starks will be working the match. Tax sits at the announce table and will be doing commentary through the match.

Brian Cage and Ricky Starks vs The Varsity Blondes

We start with Pillman and Starks and they tie up collar and elbow and Pillman is able to turn it into an arm bar.  Starks reverses and Pillman gets out with a series of rolls and a kick to the face.  Griff tags in and they work the arm again. Pillman is tagged in and they keep working the arm.  Starks is able to break free and they run the ropes, ending with Starks being tripped and going out of the ring, and Pillman follows up with a drop kick onto Starks on the floor.

They return to the ring and Pillman is able to roll up Starks for a two count. They work the corner, Starks is whipped to the opposite corner, and when Pillman gets on the apron to leap onto the ropes for a leaping attack, Starks knocks him off (although it looks like Pillman just didn't land on the ropes properly).  Cage picks up Pillman and tosses him into the post and lands on the steel steps.

Pillman is tossed back in the ring and Starks tags in Pillman, who works over Pillman on the small screen as we go picture in picture.

When we come back, Cage tosses Pillman backward over his head.  Starks is tagged in and Pillman starts to fight his way out.  Starks cuts him off and is able to hit him with a drop kick and covers for a two count. Starks picks up Pillman and tags in Cage, who nails Pillman with an uppercut. Starks tags in and hits s anp mare, then charges and punches Griff.  Pillman uses the opportunity to go for the tag, and Starks grabs the ankle and rolls him back. Pillman is able to move before Starks and follow it up and tags in Griff, who then cleans house on Starks and Cage.

Griff is able to leap over the top onto Cage, he comes in and gets a variation of an atomic drop on Starks and covers for a two count, broken up by Cage. Pillman leaps into the ring and clotheslines Cage. Cage is rolled out and the Blondes hit a drop kick from the top rope into a power bomb and Griff is able to cover for a two count.

Pillman is tagged and when Starks is tossed to the ropes, Starks gets a blind tag and Cage comes in and clotheslines Pillman as Starks spears Griff.  Cage follows up with a drill claw on Pillman and Cage covers for the three count.

Your winners: Ricky Starks and Brian Cage

The lights go out and we see a black and white video of someone being dragged behind a car, and Darby Allen emerges from the body bag being dragged with a smile.  Then, we get snow and it's time for the THE MAN CALLED STING!!! dragging a body bag. Sting opens the body bag, and Taz's son Hook is in the bag. Darby comes down from the rafters with a skateboard and attacks Starks as Sting attacks Cage

String hits a Stinger Splash and a scorpion death drop on Cage as Taz stands next to his son on the stage and just....kinda....watches and then points at Sting.

We point at a bunch of commercials and when we come back, we see a pre-tape with Miro, Penelope Ford and Kip Sabian with Tony Schiavone. Kip recaps how his wedding was destroyed. Miro says he will destroy Orange Cassidy, but he liked Charles the Butler for what he did as his butler. Miro says Charles can come back and be responsible.

Tony is handed a note, sadly, not from Britt Baker, but from the Best Friends, asking if they will fight them at Revolution.  Miro says his note is childish and being with Orange Cassidy is making him childish.

Back at the arena, Brandon Cutler is on his way to the ring. Next out is Jake Hager on his own. No Inner Circle with him.

Brandon Cutler vs Jake Hager

Cutler starts with a big right hand and then whips Hager to the corner and rains down blows. He tries a sunset flip, but Hager picks him up, nails him with a Casadora and a suplex. Hager hits a second wheelbarrow suplex.  Hager puts Cutler in the corner and works him over with body blows.  Hager then hits a Hager bomb and follows up with more body blows. Hager tosses Cutler to the ropes and sets too quick, so Cutlet is able to land a kick and follows up quickly.

Hager is sent to the outside with a low bridge and Cutler hits a pair of topes to wear Hager down. Hager is tossed back in the ring. Cutler tries to leap onto him, but Hager catches Cutler and slams him. Hager turns him inside out with a running clothesline and covers him for a three count.

Your winner: Jake Hager

The Inner Circle comes to the ring and keeps up the attack on Cutler.  The Young Bucks hit the ring and clear it, calling for Jericho and MJF to come down and fight them, right here and right now.

Jericho's music hits and MJF and Jericho are on the Big Screen on the stage. They say they don't need to fight them now, and they have found their dad, beaten and bloody and ask if it belongs to them. The Bucks run to the back and Jericho slams their dad into the truck they are in front of. They leave before the Bucks arrive.  Matt chases after their car ads MJF and Jericho drive off.

We run off to a commercial and come back to a recap of the Bucks' dad getting beat up.

Papa Buck gets an ambulance ride.

The announcers give us a package about how we got Jade Cargill and Shaq vs Cody and Red Velvet.

We come back as Isiah Kassidy and Matt Hardy are on their way to the ring. TH2 comes from the other entrance and stands on the stage with them. Adam Page is out next and he made some new friends.

Isiah Kassidy vs Adam “Hangman” Page

Kassidy attacks Page as he enters the ring, and Page is able to fight back and drops Kassidy.  Kassidy runs into Page and Page tosses him in a standing suplex.  Kassidy goes outside and Page follows. Kassidy gets back in the ring and tries to get the drip on Page, but Page is able to keep control with strikes and a clothesline. Page glares at Hardy as Kassidy struggles to get up.

Kassidy is able to get to the top, but when he leaps to Kassidy, Page is able to kick him to roll out of the ring. Page leaps onto Kassidy outside the ring, and then Page confronts Hardy.  Page rolls into the ring to break the count and Page clotheslines him over the barricade.

Page drags Kassidy to the ringside area and tries to put him through a table, but Kassidy is able to escape and get back in the ring. Page gets on the apron and while Kassidy is distracting the ref, Hardy holds Page's foot to prevent the buckshot lariat.  Kassidy is able to snap Page on the rope and Page drops to the floor where Matt shoves him into the post.

John Silver and Alex Reynolds come out and tell the ref to eject Matt from ringside. Kassidy goes back to work, stomping Page's arm injured by the ring post.  Kassidy hits a snap mare and locks Page in an arm bar as we go to picture in picture.  Kassidy keeps working over Page during the commercial.

When we get back, Kassidy has been trying to pin Page and work on the injured arm.  Page is lifted onto the apron by Kassidy and Page is able to snap Kassidy's arm in the ropes. Page gets on the apron, and Kicks Kassidy when he charges.  Page starts for the buckshot, but Kassidy is able to strike Page first.

Page is able to get into the ring and stops a charge by Kassidy with an elbow strike and covers Kassidy for a two count.  Kassidy is able to get a step up kick on Page.  Kassidy goes for another movie and Page is able to hit a Death Valley Driver.  Page is able to charge into Kassidy in the corner and misses a sliding lariat. Kassidy gets in some quick strikes, but Page counters with a brain buster and covers for a two count.

Page charges in and Kassidy hits an enziguri and a poisonrana and locks in a leg bar. Page gets a rope break. Page and Kassidy battle in the ropes and Kassidy is able to guillotined over the top rope. Kassidy goes for a destroyer, but Page is able to hold on and turn it into a Dead eye and covers for a three count.

Your winner: Adam Page

Matt's voice comes over the PA and says that because he chose the Dark Order over him, he will hurt all members of the Dark Order.  Matt comes out and tosses Five, Allan Angel from the stage to the table.

In the back, Alex Marvez finds Kenny Omega and Don Callis working on the Moxley Extermination Chamber.  They chase him off and get back to work with hammers and grinders.

When we get back from commercial, we get an update on the Women's tournament.

On her way to the ring at this time, Nyla Rose without Vickie Guerrero. She is followed by Britt Baker with Reba.  Rebel.  Um, whatever her name is this week. OK, the graphic says “Rebel not Reba.”

Nyla Rose vs Britt Baker

They tie up and Nyla shoves Baker back.  They tie up again and Baker puts on a headlock and Nyla throws her off, shoulder tackles her down and Baker picks up Baker and slams her.  Baker rolls out of the ring and walks through  the crowd, tosses garbage cans and then heads back to the ring to kick Nyla. Nyla is able to hit Baker with a Samoan drop and then works her over in the corner.

Nyla sets Baker up in the corner and goes to charge, but Rebel pulls Baker out of the way at the last second.  Baker goes to the top and Nyla grabs her, carries her on her shoulders and then drops Baker to the mat.  Baker rolls to the outside and is able to pull Nyla's arm into the ring post.  Baker is able to keep up the fight on the outside as we go picture in picture. Baker is able to get in off fence on the small screen working the shoulder from the attack using the ring post.

When we get back from commercial, Nyla is able to hit a superplex off the top, but Baker is able to switch it up and suplex Nyla into the corner. We are shown that Baker pulled the padding off of a turnbuckle.  Baker keeps striking Nyla with elbow strikes to keep her down until Nyla is able to get to her feet and attack Baker.  Nyla climbs to the top and Rebel gets on the apron so Nyla hit her with an uranage.  Nyla then hits Baker with a neck-breaker and a two count.

Baker is able to escape a power bomb and then is handed her glove by Rebel.  Nyla is able to choke slam Baker, and Rebel gets into the ring and is tossed into the corner. Nyla follows up with a cannonball onto Rebel.  Baker is able to use the distraction to slam Nyla's head into the exposed turnbuckle and then tries to get the lock jaw on Nyla. Nyla struggles to stop it, but Baker gets the arm hooked.  Nyla picks Baker up[ and slams her to the mat and covers for a two count.

Baker is able to get an inside cradle and a two count on Nyla. Baker  follows up with a pair of thrust kicks. Baker hits a crucifix bomb for a two count, and Baker goes for the lack jaw again. Nyla fights her way free, hits a beast bomb on Baker and covers for a two count. Nyla is able to hit a second beast bomb and covers for a two count.

Your winner and moving on in the Women's Tournament: Nyla Rose

The announcers give us matches for next week, and we get what happened for FTR vs Jurassic Express to lead to their match next week. They also run down the card for Revolution.

After commercials, it's time for the main event. The winner gets a berth in the Ladder Match at Revolution.  First out is Lance Archer with Jake Roberts.  Lance has forgotten he is to drop a jobber on the way to the ring, I guess.  Next out is Rey Fenix.

Rey Fenix vs Lance Archer

Rey hits a few slaps and kicks and is able to get a few blows in.  Fenix is able to take down Archer with a head scissors and Archer answers it with a slam on Fenix.  Archer takes over, slamming Rey face first into the turnbuckle and then manhandling.  Archer is sent outside with a low bridge by Fenix and Fenix leaps onto Archer outside the ring.  Fenix goes to the top and Jake is able to grab his feet and pull him down onto the entrance ramp.

Fenix is able to recover and leap over Jake's back onto Archer. They brawl outside the ring with Archer able to take Fenix down with chops.  We go to picture in picture and Archer maintains control on the small screen.

When we get back on the big screen, Fenix is trying to fight from underneath, but Archer is able to take the chops and kicks.  Archer drops Fenix with a strike and when Fenix gets up he hits a series of ineffectual strikes.  They battle to the corner with Fenix on the apron, and Archer clotheslines him down.  They go to the floor where Archer tosses him into the barricade. Archer is able to dominate as he keeps working over Fenix outside the ring.

Fenix is tossed into the ring and Archer suplexes him across the ring.  He places Fenix on the top and sets up for the blackout, but Fenix escapes and shoves Archer to the corner, spinning through the ropes to kick Archer at the same  time.  Fenxi then leaps off the top for a stomp on Archer back, covering for a two count.  Fenix tries to pick up Archer and Archer instead hits a release German suplex onto Fenix.  Archer pulls him to the corner, walks the rope and clips off the ropes onto Fenix for a cover and a two count.

Archer takes Fenix to the corner again and wraps him around a rope and clubs him a few times.  Fenix is able to escape and gets a few strikes in before Archer tosses him into the turnbuckle.  Archer charges into Fenix in the corner and with the second charge, Fenix gets a foot up. Fenix gets a few more kicks in and Fenix is able to keep up the attack with his own rope walk ending with a kick to Archer.

Fenix covers for a two count. Fenix goes to the second turnbuckle and hits a flipping cutter and covers with a two count.  Archer is able to get up and toss Fenix to the corner, then hits a fisherman's buster on Fenix, covering him for a two count.  Archer goes to the second turnbuckle, pulls Fenix to the top and Fenix is able to hit a Spanish Fly on Archer and covers for a two count.  Fenix hits a flurry of kicks and strikes, but Archer hits a shoulder block and follows with a chokeslam and a two count.

Archer drags Fenix to the corner and sets him up for the black out.  The black out is hit, Archer covers, and the ref counts three as Lance Archer wins.

Your winner and going on the ladder match at Revolution: Lance Archer

Archer picks up Fenix and they fist bump as we are out of time!
