AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2021-02-17 20:05:00

It's Wednesday and you know what that means. It's time for AEW Dynamite, coming from Daily's  Place in Jacksonville, FL.  Our announcers are Jim Ross, Excalibur and Tony Schiavone.

We start with Adam Page on his way to the ring and we are told  he recently hired a shady legal team in his screen title. He is followed by Big Money Matt Hardy.  We get a recap of Matt and Adam's win two weeks ago and last week's contract signing. Already in the ring are TH2.

Adam Page and Matt Hardy vs The Hybrid 2 (TH2)

TH2 attempt to go after Page, who is able to take them both out. Angelico is tossed from the ring and Page then tags in Hardy to work on Jack Evans.  Hardy hits Evans with a neck breaker and gets a two count cover. Page is tagged in and he hits a standing shooting star press for a two count.  Hardy is tagged back in and they hit a suplex on Evans, and as Hardy hits a BT Bomb, Angelico gets a blind tag so that he can work over Hardy in the corner.

Evans tags in and leaps off the top to hit a double stomp on Hardy who is being held by Angelico. Evans knocks Page off the apron and then covers Hardy for a two count.  Angelico is tagged and then Hardy tries to fight his way free, but TH2 double team him.  Matt is rolled up by Angelico for a two count, and they struggle back to TH2”s corner for another tag. Evans goes for a back handspring into Hardy in the corner, but Hardy dodges it and hits a side effect on Evans.

They both are slow to get to their feet, but they both tag at the same time.  Page cleans house on Angelico. Page ends the sequence with a suplex on Angelico, a tope onto Evans, and when Page comes back in the ring, he hits Angelico with a suplex and a two count. Angelico tags out and runs at Page, Page catches him and hits a pop up powerbomb. Evans comes in and is powerbombed only Angelico.

Page sets up for the buckshot lariat and Hardy tags in and is tossed into Page. TH2 hit a neckbreaker/headbreaker combination. They go for the phoenix splash and a cover for a two count. They go for a double team move, but Page hits a buckshot lariat on both of them.  Hardy hits a twist of fate on Angelico and covers for the three count.

Your winners: Adam Page and Matt Hardy

Hardy has a mic and says that Page is going to make a lot of money, and he says he gets 30% of it. He says Page made the right decision.  Page grabs the mic and says that he should have paid attention at the bar.  He says he had an extra set of papers in his jacket. He then says that someone from the Jags need to bring the papers out. The Jaguars mascot comes out with the contract and Matt starts to read it.

Matt then says that it's not a talent representation contract, it's a contract for Matt vs Page.  And if Matt loses, Page gets all of Hardy's earnings for the first quarter of 2021. Hardy asks for Page to put something on the line, the same stipulation. Page says they have a money match. We then find out that Isaiah Kassidy is in the costume, and Hardy calls in TH2 to get $700 each to kick Page's ass. They start the attack and the Dark Order come out and drive them off. Page hits a buckshot lariat on Matt and the Dark Order leaves him to stand strong.

Alex Marvez is with the Inner Circle to ask Santana and Ortiz about their match for the titles tonight. They talk about how they have been in the company for 18 months and now they have their chance and they didn't get their chance because everyone is scared of them. MJF says that Sammy attacked him without any evidence. Jericho says that MJF was goading Sammy for weeks. He says some of it is MJF's fault and most of it is Sammy's choice. Sammy made bad choices, because leaving the Inner Circle means he is dead to him and he never wants to hear Sammy's name again.  Jericho says Santana and Ortiz will bring gold back to the Inner Circle.

The announcers go down the card for the night.

We go to commercials.
