2/16 NJPW ROAD TO CASTLE ATTACK REPORT

2/16/21 Results from New Japan’s Road to Castle Attack From Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Japan

Jeff Cobb, The Great O-Khan and Will Ospreay, with Bea Priestley vs. Yota Tsuji, Satoshi Kojima and Hiroshi Tanahashi.  Tanahashi and O-Khan paired off and O-Khan attacked the leg of Tanahashi with submission holds.   Good match between big men.  Cobb pinned Tsuji with a Tour of the Islands.  Tsuji is a big dude and Cobb threw him around the ring like a Jr. Heavyweight.  Scary.

El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori and Yujiro Takahashi vs. SANADA, BUSHI and Hiromu Takahashi.  Hiromu came to the ring with cardboard title belt.  He mocked ELP by doing his mannerisms as he entered the ring.   Bullet Club attacks immediately.     ELP and Ishimori start back raking SANADA, scratching his skin with their nails.   Hiromu throws to SANADA the new El Phantasmo shirt that he got last night.   SANADA puts it on so Bullet Club cannot scratch him.   Funny.     Ishimori and BUSHI pick up the pace of the match.   Great stuff from both teams.   ELP hits Sudden Death to the gut of Hiromu and another to the gut of BUSHI.     Takahashi pins BUSHI after hitting Pimp Juice.     BUSHI and Hiromu were rolling around in pain.   Bullet Club taunts LIJ as they leave the ring.

Chase Owens, Jay White and Gedo vs. Toru Yano, SHO and Tomohiro Ishii.  Owens continues to attack Yano with the leather strap he has brought to the ring.   Lots of shenanigans between these two.  Ishii pins Gedo after a brainbuster.  Jay White and Tomohiro Ishii have good chemistry in the ring.   Their match at Castle Attack should be awesome.  Ishii chokes out Gedo in the ring while White screams at him to stop.   The young lions try to get Ishii off of Gedo until Ishii lets go and stares down Jay White.

Kota Ibushi and Yuji Nagata vs. Tetsuya Naito and Shingo Takagi.  Takagi pins Nagata with Last of the Dragon.  Really good match.   Nagata and Takagi was a great fight.     Ibushi was holding his knee and the young lions put ice on it.   Naito kicked the young lion away and attacked his knee with elbows.  Ibushi needed help back to the locker room.  Ibushi’s knee will be a target for Naito as they to Osaka and their IWGP Intercontinental Heavyweight Title match.

Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI and Kazuchika Okada vs. Tama Tonga, Tanga Loa and EVIL with Dick Togo and Jado.  CHAOS attacks before the introductions.  Another good match.  Tanga Loa pins YOSHI-HASHI after hitting Apeshit.  It was awesome to hear both Japanese announcers say “Apesh**” simultaneously.  Tanga Loa takes the mic and tells the fans don’t bother buying the tickets for the 2/28 to see the IWGP Tag Team title match because on 2/27 he is facing YOSHI-HASHI in a singles match.   And on 2/27, he will bury YOSHI-HASHI.   Tama Tonga called Goto a “stepping stone” and he will use Goto to get to the next level.
