MLW NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2021-02-15 12:38:00

Online now for PWInsiderElite.com subscribers is a great 60 minute conversation with Team Filthy's Kevin Ku discussing his career, teaming with Dominic Garrini, going from punk rock to pro wrestling, similarities and differences in the lifestyle, the Southern independent scene, Nashville, theme parks, the Filthy Island episode of Fusion and tons more.

Scheduled for Wednesday's edition of MLW Fusion's Filthy Island edition on FuboTV, YouTube and The Roku Channel:

*Dominic Garrini vs. "14-time Pacific Chamoion" Mauna Loa.

*Mil Muertes vs. Savio Vega in an Aztec Jungle Fight

*Low Ki vs. King Mo in a No Holds Barred Fight.

*Rocky Romero vs. Gringo Loco.

*Dan Lambert appearing.

Tom Lawlor will return to MMA and fight in the Professional Fighters League’s April tournament.  The belief is that that since he's balanced MMA and MLW bookings in the past, there won't be any conflict as he prepares for his fights.  MLW plans to come up with ways to utilize him without distracting from his fight camp and without impacting MLW plans. It's possible PFL footage could be incorporated onto MLW TV.

The beginning of some Azteca Underground viral marketing is set to roll out later this week with fans who follow down the rabbit hole being rewarded as the storyline continues to unfold.  Thus far, the owner (Dario Cueto?) has purchased Promociones Dorado from Salina de la Renta and she now works for the mysterious benefactor, which I guess makes her Vader to the new Emperor.

There is expected to be some details on where future classic episodes of MLW Underground will be aired released later this week.

If travel restrictions become looser, the hope is for Lio Rush to go to Mexico to defend the AAA Cruiserweight and MLW Middleweight titles.  MLW was thrillled with the coverage the title change received in Mexico.

There is talk of more appearances from former NBA referee Tim Donaghy in MLW as a corrupt official playing off his NBA infamy:

Myron Reed revealed his repackaged look on this past week’s episode of Fusion.
