RING OF HONOR TV REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2021-02-14 13:51:00

The Foundation addresses Fred Yehi and Wheeler Yuta.  They Foundation is going to lead by example and shake up the routine.  The Foundation will mix with and against Yehi and Yuta. Lethal and Tracy Williams agree to start the match.

Quinn McKay welcomes us to tonight's show and we see footage of The Foundation watching last week's main event in disgust.  Quinn tells us that ROH has listened to their fans via # ChooseYourHonor and has brought back Tony Deppen for tonight's show.  Tony Deppen and LSG give us some pre-match comments.

Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman have the call of the action.

LSG vs. Tony Deppen

Code of Honor adhered to.  We get an immediate test of strength and LSG with nice Go Behind. Deppen traps the arm but LSG slides into a headlock position.  DEppen throws him off, shoudlertackle by LSG. Deppen misses a dropkick and LSG with a crucifix for 1. They exchange rollups.  LSG misses a kick.  They go throught the ropes and miss clothelines.  We get a forearm exchange on the outside until LSG gets the better and throws Deppen back in. Standing switch by LSG, he scores a 2 count with a rolling reverse.  The kickout sends LSG to the apron.  LSG smashes his head into the buckle and hits a springboard dropkick.  He follows LSG out but LSG sweeps the leg and hits a neckbreaker on the outside and sends Deppen into the rail.  Deppen barely beats the 20 count.  LSG immediately puts the boots to him as we go to commercial.

We're back and LSG misses an elbow and Deppen fires away with body shots.  Knee to the jaw by LSG.  LSG with a hangman neckbreaker, Deppen slips out and takes LSG down with a wrist throw.  Deppen with open hand strikes.  Enziguiri by Deppen, he hits a cross body off the top and goes to work on the legs, followed by a dropkick.  Deppen with a forearm and a double knee strike for 2.  Ian informs us that this match counts towards the ROH TV title rankings.  They exchange chops and open hand slaps.  Rocket Bye Baby by LSG for 2.  Deppen to the outside and a baseball slide dropkick by LSG.  Deppen blocks an apron suplex and backdrops LSG into the ring.  Flash brainbuster by Deppen followed by a running knee for 2.  Deppen misses a double stomp.  LSG with a pump kick.  Deppen with a smnall package for 2.  Deppen with a backslide for 2.  LSG with a Hangman Power Bomb for the pin.  Ian renames the move Event Horizon.

WINNER: LSG

Post match Code of Honor adhered to.

Quinn McKay moderates a family therapy session with the Briscoes.  Mark wants Jay to recommit to the team and forget his obsession with EC3.  They agree to get back on the right track.

We get a video package for the upcoming ROH World Title match between Rush and Shane Taylor.  That takes place in 2 weeks time.

Jonathan Gresham Tracy Williams & Fred Yehi vs. Jay Lethal, Rhett Titus and Wheeler Yuta.

Full disclosure, I'll never able to keep up so it's bullet point time:

  • Williams and Lethal with back and forth chain wrestling, Williams scores a takedown but Lethal kicks out.
  • Lockup and Lethal with a hammerlock, Williams reverses and locks in a half crab, with Lethal rolling out and scoring a 1 count
  • Titus tags in and scores a takedown with an amateur roll.  Williams rolls out but Titus locks in a headscissors.
  • Yehi tags in, he locks up with Titus and we are treated to back and forth chain wrestling, Titus has to go for the ropes.  Reminder that this is not a Pure match so these ropes breaks aren't numbered.
  • Yuta tags in and he takes Yehi down with a wristlock, Yehi reverses into a side headlock.
  • This has a real "spirit of competition" feel to it
  • Gresham tahs in and he takes Yuta to school with takedowns until Yuta forearms his way out
  • Now it's Yuta with wristlock reversals into a headlock. The Pure champion elbows his way out.
  • Yuta with an armbar forcing Gresham to make the ropes.  Lethal tags in.
  • Gresham and Lethal exchange pratically every type of scientific move known to man.  I could seriously watch these 2 all day.
  • Gresham with a side headlock. Lethal with a hip toss into a dropkick.
  • Titus tags in and scores a 2 count with a splash
  • Yuta tags back in and scores an immediate 2 off a snap made.  Yuta slows things down with an arm trap and tags Titus back in
  • Titus with an armdrag in on Gresham.  Gresham retailiates with forearms and scores a 2 with a rollup.
  • Lethal tags in as does Yehi.  Yuts also tags in.  Yehi with a Koji Clutch on Yuta, he makes the ropes as we go to commercial
  • Lethal with facebuster on Williams, followed by an elbowdrop off the ropes for 2.  Both men are down
  • Gresham and Titus tag in and exchange forearms. Titus with a belly to belly for 2.
  • Stunner by Gresham.  Followed by a back elbow for 2.
  • Yehi and Yuta tag in. Yehi with an elbow as Titus scores a kneelift.  2 count by Yuta.
  • Yuta with a DDT for 2, broken up by Williams.
  • Yehi with a suplex.  Titus tags in but Yehi with a Koji Clutch, broken up by Lethal
  • Lethal Injection by Lethal to Gresham
  • Titus with a dropkick to Yehi
  • Titus with a dropkick on Yehi for the pin.

WINNERS: Rhett Titus, Wheeler Yuta and Jay Lethal

Crazy fast paced match.
