Pro Wrestling NOAH

Pro Wrestling NOAH made its long-awaited return to the historic Nippon Budokan for its Destination 2021 show today.

The full results were:

• Akitoshi Saito def. Kinya Okada
• Atsushi Kotoge, Daiki Inaba and Yasutaka Yano def. Hajime Ohara, Kai Fujimura and YO-HEY
• Masaaki Mochizuki and Masato Tanaka def. Mohammed Yone and Shuhei Taniguchi
• Kazunari Murakami, Kazushi Sakuraba, Kazuyuki Fujita, Kendo Kashin, NOSAWA Rongai and Takashi Sugiura def. Haoh, Katsuhiko Nakajima, Manabu Soya, Masa Kitamiya, Nioh and Tadasuke
• GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships: HAYATA and Yoshinari Ogawa (c) def. Ikuto Hidaka and Kotaro Suzuki
• GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship: Seiki Yoshioka def. Daisuke Harada (c)
• Kaito Kiyomiya and Yoshiki Inamura def. Jun Akiyama and Naomichi Marufuji
• GHC National Championship: Kenoh (c) def. Masakatsu Funaki
• GHC Heavyweight Championship: Keiji Mutoh def. Go Shiozaki (c)

The 12-man tag team match between Kongoh and Sugiura-gun served as a small preview for Katsuhiko Nakajima and Masa Kitamiya’s GHC Tag Team Championships challenge against Kazushi Sakuraba and Takashi Sugiura at Great Voyage 2021 in Yokohama on March 7 as Kitamiya and Sugiura had quite a few interactions throughout the bout.

Additionally, further tensions were teased between Kazuyuki Fujita and Manabu Soya. It seems a singles match will take place between the two behemoths at some point in the future.

Nakajima still has unresolved issues with Kazunari Murakami, which could be a story worth keeping an eye on after Nakajima’s GHC Tag Team Championships match at Great Voyage 2021 in Yokohama.

HAYATA and Yoshinari Ogawa made their third defense of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships against Ikuto Hidaka and Kotaro Suzuki.

Seiki Yoshioka defeated Daisuke Harada to win the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career. Atsushi Kotoge challenged Yoshioka afterwards.

Kaito Kiyomiya pinned Naomichi Marufuji to win the generational tag team match. Jun Akiyama shook hands with both Kiyomiya and Yoshiki Inamura in a great moment after the match. Kiyomiya was in tears.

Kenoh made his fifth defense of the GHC National Championship against Masakatsu Funaki. Funaki shook Kenoh’s hand afterwards.

Backstage, Kendo Kashin confronted Kenoh and challenged him to a GHC National Championship match.

Keiji Mutoh defeated Go Shiozaki to win the GHC Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career in the main event.

Mutoh, 58, is now the third ever person to hold the GHC Heavyweight Championship, IWGP Heavyweight Championship and Triple Crown Heavyweight Championship if he were to defeat Shiozaki. The only other two are Kensuke Sasaki and Yoshihiro Takayama.

The match ended with a flash pinfall which can be seen on the tweet attached below.

Kiyomiya came to the ring after the match. No words were spoken between Kiyomiya and Mutoh but Kiyomiya did formally challenge for the GHC Heavyweight Championship backstage.

Lastly, NOAH unveiled its new logo today.

The first night of Castle Attack on February 27 in Osaka-j? Hall will be headlined by two marquee singles matches: Jay White versus Tomohiro Ishii and EVIL versus Kazuchika Okada.

White was pinned by Ishii at New Year Dash!! on January 6. White took a brief hiatus from New Japan afterwards as speculation mounted over his future but he returned on a Road to the New Beginning tour show on February 1 to attack Ishii.

The second night of Castle Attack on February 28 in Osaka-j? Hall will see four title matches. Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa will attempt their second defense of the IWGP Tag Team Championships against Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI, Hiroshi Tanahashi will attempt his first defense of the NEVER Openweight Championship against Great-O-Khan, Takahashi will attempt his second defense of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against El Phantasmo and Kota Ibushi will attempt his third defense of the IWGP Intercontinental Championship against Tetsuya Naito.

YOSHI-HASHI pinned Loa on the second night of The New Beginning in Hiroshima yesterday, prompting him and Goto to make a challenge for the IWGP Tag Team Championships.

Tanahashi feuded with Great-O-Khan throughout the end of 2020 and the foes had a singles match on the first night of Wrestle Kingdom 15 on January 4, where Tanahashi was victorious. Tanahashi defeated Shingo Takagi to win the NEVER Openweight Championship at The New Beginning in Nagoya on January 30 but was attacked by Great-O-Khan during his celebration, setting the stage for this match.

Takahashi made his first defense of the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against SHO on the first night of The New Beginning in Hiroshima on February 10 and was challenged by El Phantasmo afterwards.

Ibushi made his second defense of the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and IWGP Intercontinental Championship against SANADA on the second night of The New Beginning in Hiroshima yesterday and was challenged by Naito afterwards. Naito specifically challenged for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship because he does not want Ibushi to unify the titles.
