Scotland's ICW issued the following:
LIONHEART LEAGUE FINAL SET FOR ICW FIGHT CLUB
GLASGOW, Scot., 5 February, 2021 - The final match in the inaugural Lionheart League tournament will take place at ICW Fight Club on Saturday, 6 February at 12 pm ET/5 pm GMT streaming around the world on WWE Network.
“I’m used to grinding. I’m used to grafting. I’ll beat anybody that walks out the curtain.” said former ICW World Heavyweight Champion Stevie Boy, who faces former ICW Tag Team Champion and current NXT UK Superstar Sha Samuels in Saturday’s final. “All I need is one last chance. I can’t let anybody stop me from getting to where I need to be.”
Including the finalists, the Lionheart League featured sixteen wrestlers competing in blocks of four. Matches were contested under traditional rules with a 20-minute time limit. Wrestlers gained two points for a victory, one for a draw, and no points for a loss. The winner and runner-up of each block advanced to the quarter-final which then entered the knockout stages until the upcoming final. Saturday’s final between Stevie Boy and Sha Samuels will be the only match in the entire tournament to be contested under ICW rules: anything goes. The winner will receive the Lionheart League trophy and secure a guaranteed World Heavyweight Championship match.
“I’ve got a lot more years behind me than I do in front of me doing this.” said Sha Samuels. “When I leave professional wrestling, I want them to say, ‘he was the best’. This probably is my last opportunity to be a World Heavyweight Champion.”
Watch ICW Fight Club every Saturday at 12 pm ET/5 pm GMT on WWE Network.
