THE RUMBLE NO ONE REMEMBERS, ZELINA, WHY FANS WERE OK WITH BLOODY WRESTLERS IN THE CROWD IN ECW, GCW AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2021-01-31 10:00:00

I am going through old Rumble audios and you are talking about a Rumble that Owen Hart won.  Why hasn't WWE ever shown the footage of this?

I don't believe they ever filmed the match.  It was not unusual for shows not to be taped during that time period.  It took place in January 1994 at Madison Square Garden with Owen Hart winning by tossing over Fatu in the end.  It was actually a great bout and the only non-televised Rumble in the United States that I can remember.   I seem to remember that there was a Camcorder/fan shot version that floated around with tape traders back in the day but I don't know where that can be found legally.

Here are details from our friends at www.TheHistoryofWWE.com:

Owen Hart won a 30-man Royal Rumble match at 1:10:06 by last eliminating Fatu; order of entry: Diesel (00:00), Mo (00:00), Bushwhacker Butch (2:25), the 1-2-3 Kid (4:20), Scott Steiner (6:47), Iron Mike Sharpe (8:26), Samu (10:42), Bob Backlund (12:25), Jeff Jarrett (14:35), Virgil (16:35), Bam Bam Bigelow (17:58), Randy Savage (20:45), Adam Bomb (23:03), Sgt. There's been nothing out of Thea Trinidad/Zelina Vega lately.  Did she end up going back to WWE?

No she has a non-compete until sometime in February.  I don't believe we will hear from her until that.

I saw you have been covering the GCW Fight Forever show and that the money goes to independent wrestlers affected by COVID but how is that money exactly being used?

GCW put the show on at their own cost and used sponsors to absorb additional costs.  The wrestlers donated their time and every talent who was involved in the show will receive a split of the money earned.  That is my understanding of how they are handling it.

I am watching old ECW and I was wondering what sort of releases fans signed before they went to the shows since I am watching guys bleeding all over the audience as they brawl?

Releases?  It was the 1990s, sir.  There were no releases.  There was basically an unspoken agreement that anyone who attended those shows that they knew they were getting into especially one the promotion's TV outlets and reputation grew.

Is WWE involved with Young Rock?

They are not an active production partner in the show but certainly will be providing footage from their library.
