Trey Miguel, formerly of The Rascalz trio, officially returned to Impact Wrestling in the main event of tonight's Impact on AXS as the mystery partner for Tommy Dreamer, Willie Mack and Impact Wrestling Champion Rich Swann.
Miguel, 26 and the other Rascalz bid farewell to Impact in November 2020. Since then, his former partners have signed with WWE NXT and are currently competing in the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Classic as MSK.
When asked why Miguel wasn't signed with his partners during a WWE NXT media call, WWE's Paul Levesque commented:
“I don’t want to talk about why people are or are not here. Obviously, there’s a lot that goes into all of that, but for me, the people that do come here, it’s seeing the heart and the passion. That really comes down to a lot of it. It’s a passion business. You have to be all in. You have to be invested in this, every bit of you, and sometimes I see people that have been in a long time. And it shows that they’ve been in a long time. I don’t know, sometimes that passion isn’t there. I see people that are new to it, and sometimes I see, ‘oh, they like this, but it’s not everything to them.’ There are times there are people that I see coming into the door now where I just go, man, there passion and their heart, they live, breathe and eat this. When they’re at the PC, every time I see them, there’s a huge smile on their face. It’s the greatest day of their life being in the doors, and training, and getting in the ring with people and learning. Those are the people we want here. That’s not to say anything about the names I mentioned, other than that the people that are here is beacause of that heart and that passion. Like you said, their future’s bright. There’s a lot more coming in behind them. Whether that be people that have been in this business for a while or whether that be people that have been dreaming about this their whole lives, now’s the time for them to walk through the doors to try to live their dream. I want to give the opportunity to all of them, and that’s what this is about. So you’re going to see people who you’ve never heard of and you’ve never seen walk through these ropes, and you’re gonna see people that you have heard of and you’re excited to see what they can do next in their careers. We’re gonna make them all stars hopefully.”
Miguel responded via Twitter to the comments on 12/7, writing:
I feel like it is worth mentioning AGAIN that a month and a half ago my Nephew was born prematurely and is in isolated care until what would have been his actual due date. Meeting a healthy baby boy is more important to me than anything else. I’m sure you all can respect that. ????????

Miguel had not wrestled since the Rascalz's farewell bout last November until tonight's Impact episode. Prior to his exit, he was regularly pushed into main events and was a consistent challenger for the Impact Wrestling Championship.
Last October during a conversation with PWInsider.com I asked Miguel about Impact giving him the push and responsibility of the main event picture. He commented:
"It means a lot because personally, I don't give into any hype ever. Social media seems to feed a lot of people's egos, it seems to be what boosts a lot of people's confidence, where they gain it through and I just...sometimes I don't really take a big enough look at the reach and the influence that I actually have sometimes and it's really cool to see stuff like that when you look at it like, "Wow, people are actually getting behind us" and when you see it backed up by the company you work for too it's like, "Wow, they see the hard work that I'm putting in and that I'm here to better the product too" and that they trust you and they invest - it means a whole lot, especially since I still live in Toledo, Ohio, the hometown I was born and raised in. I go day to day just being Trey. I'm not Trey from the Rascalz or on Impact or anything like that to anyone that's in my circle. So that keeps me really humble and grounded...I believe it does and it's really cool when you think about it, like "Wow there are episodes built around me and they're putting me in main event pictures and I'm gunning for big things and showing good face doing it." It's crazy."
