By Kendall Jenkins on 2021-01-25 11:52:00

There are many great shows in WWE, and every fan will all have their favourite. For some, it’s all about WrestleMania, and you can understand why. That’s the pinnacle of the game, and it regularly delivers drama.

However, another standout event in the schedule is Royal Rumble, with the latest instalment almost with us.

Some of the biggest names in the industry will take to the ring, and here we outline why you need to be ready to watch when it comes around.

Can Daniel Bryan Taste Success?

The latest Royal Rumble odds show that Daniel Bryan is the favourite to last the distance, and there’s no doubt that all eyes will be on the American Dragon.

Firstly, he has had a remarkable story in WWE, which has seen him come back from serious injury to still establish himself as a huge name. He’s won almost everything on offer, including becoming World Heavyweight Champion.

But the one event that has eluded Bryan so far is the Royal Rumble. He’s competed, and actually holds the record for the longest time spent in the ring. Yet, his 76-minute battle in 2018 didn’t bring a victory, and that’s something that he will hope to rectify this time around.

Whether he can, we don’t know, although it’s surely going to be entertaining to watch Bryan make his mark once again on the big stage.

There Will Be Surprises in Store

A great aspect of the Royal Rumble is the element of surprise. Even with the event fast approaching, we still don’t know the full 30 athletes that will take to the ring, and we won’t know on the day. Of the confirmed participants so far, the likes of Bryan, Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Otis, and Jey Uso will guarantee a great watch. Nevertheless, there’s no denying that the anticipation of waiting to see who will enter the ring is a key factor for making the Rumble an intriguing, exciting spectacle. More entrants should also be confirmed leading up to the day, which will just add to the hype.

It’s a Historic Event

Another reason you need to watch the Royal Rumble is the history and tradition that comes with the event. It’s a show that was one of the first events in the industry, and it’s created so many memories that wrestlers love to emulate.

From Stone Cold securing a record three wins, to Shawn Michaels in '95 and Chris Benoit in '04, managing to win the Rumble after entering as the number one. It’s an event that has constantly delivered dramatic moments, and it’s the event that gives you a ticket to a title shot at WrestleMania, which will be at the forefront of all of those who enter the event. Ultimately, there are many great WWE shows to watch, but the Royal Rumble will always hold a special place for many fans. It’s a unique, entertaining event and it should deliver more headlines when it comes around again on January 31st.
