1/24 NEW JAPAN RESULTS FROM TOKYO, JAPAN

From Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan:

1 - Yoshinobu Kanemaru, El Desperado, DOUKI and Minoru Suzuki vs. Yuya Uemura, Tiger Mask, Togi Makabe and Yuji Nagata

Uemura quickly got in the face of Suzuki and got a punch in the gut.  All hell breaks loose.  Wild match. 

El Desperado pins Uemura with Pinche Loco.

2 - The Great O-Khan and Will Ospreay vs. Satoshi Kojima and Hiroyoshi Tenzan

O-Khan and Ospreay rushed to the ring ready to fight, no entrance garb or theatrics. Priestley is not with them.

At this point, El Phantasmo joins Kevin Kelly on commentary saying “What’s up you fat marks?”   

The United Empire attacks as Kojima and Tenzan make their way to the ring.   They fight all around ringside.   Ospreay blasts Tenzan with a chair.   The United Empire start throwing chairs in the ring like Terry Funk in ECW.  One chair landed on Tenzan’s head.  Ospreay throws the referee into the guardrails.   The United Empire is disqualified.   

O-Khan was about give Tenzan a tombstone on the chairs.  Kojima escaped the grip of Ospreay to make the save.  Kojima hit O-Khan in gut with a chair then broke it over his back.   Ospreay came in with his own chair but Kojima cleaned him out with a lariat. 

Young lions came out to calm the situation.   With chairs flying, order needed to be restored for safety of the crowd.

Even ELP shouted at O-Khan to go back to the locker and calm down.

This feud is hot right now looks like is not slowing down.

3 - Yujiro Takahashi, EVIL and Dick Togo vs. Kazuchika Okada, Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI

EVIL pins YOSHI-HASHI with Everything is Evil.

4 - SHO and Tomoaki Honma vs. Hiromu Takahashi and Tetsuya Naito

LIJ attacks before the bell and the match spills to the floor.

ELP said “Honma sounds like a garbage disposal”.  Funny.

Naito pins Honma with a Jackknife roll up.

LIJ play to the crowd and those at ringside before they leave.

5 - Kota Ibushi, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Master Wato vs. SANADA, Shingo Takagi and BUSHI

LIJ took the match to their opponents as it spilled to the floor.   

ELP commented on Master Wato’s hair that he has a “Karen haircut”.

Tanahashi forces BUSHI to tap to the Texas Cloverleaf.

All the wrestlers have words with their upcoming opponents.   

Tanahashi, Wato and Ibushi send the crowd hone with an air guitar performance.

ELP tried to hit Wato with a water bottle as he left ringside.

Tanahashi gave an emotional speech in backstage interview area.  It is hard to imagine that Tanahashi’s time at the top is coming to an end.

Check out this event to listen to El Phantasmo on English commentary.  He was hilarious and complemented Kevin Kelly quite well.    He was not Bobby Heenan, but no one can be.   ELP played the arrogant heel but he provided a different perspective for New Japan that American fans would appreciate if they grew up listening to Heenan or Jerry Lawler.

They mentioned that Gino Gambino as well as Robbie Eagles were stuck in Australia due to COVID protocols.   El Phantasmo on commentary is a great addition and he stated that he will be in the country for the entire New Beginning Tour.
