The WWE has always had its heroes and villains, and today that’s no different. Around the world fans love to see some of the most hated stars get their asses whooped and the only way we’d even bet on them is if it was to lose!
With a hopefully much fuller calendar for the WWE in 2021 and some incredible events fans can be in the arena to enjoy, here are the stars we’ll be booing, and we certainly won’t be betting on to come good by the end of the year…
Is King Corbin the most hated man in wrestling? We’d perhaps say so, and don’t the WWE know it?!
He’s one of those where the more you hate him the more he appears. It happens across all forms of entertainment. In reality TV shows, the more a celebrity is hated the higher the chance they’ll be kept in, while in casinos you’ll find tons of annoying casino players and game enthusiasts who just love to rub you up the wrong way. But the more you get annoyed, the more they appear.
And that’s King Corbin.
When it comes to gambling he’s currently 33/1 to win Royal Rumble in just a few weeks time, but we’d prefer it if he was 1000/1!
He’s booed constantly, and has been since he arrived in the WWE as Baron Corbin. He went from Baron to Constable, before winning King of the Ring and adding King to his name. Royal Corbin next? We really hope not and we certainly won’t be betting on it if Vince McMahon doesn’t want uproar.
2020 was a bad year for the fighter, losing a significant portion of his bouts. Which has only increased the boos and decreased our chance of backing him or changing our thoughts on him anytime soon.
Triple H recently compared Walter to Brock Lesnar, but no way is he as hated as the five time WWE champion. It’s impossible.
Lesnar has pogoed between UFC and WWE and he’s not particularly a favourite either. Given his age, he’s perhaps not likely to pick up another title, but some are still tipping him to take the title from Roman Reigns in 2021.
Lesnar won’t be a popular choice, with the almost super villain only ever coming out for PPV events, which is starting to grate on those who want to see the big guns in the likes of Raw and Smackdown.
You can’t argue with his record though. Five WWE Championships, three Universal Championships, and the longest reigning too, as well as many more titles and even a spell trying his hand as an NFL player.
It was reported that he is no longer under contract with the WWE as of August 2020, and hasn’t fought since losing his WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania 36. All is relatively quiet at the moment, but there are still rumours of a return in the Royal Rumble, and is priced at 8/1 to win the thing!
It is believed he’s unwilling to perform currently due to the pandemic however, which could see him out of the ring completely until at least the second half of the year.
Just three WWE wrestlers lost more than Seth Rollins in 2020, so it’s no wonder he’s not the most popular fighter out there currently. King Corbin was one of those.
2020 has been a very different year for Rollins. In 2019 he won more bouts than any other fighter at 115. Last year that figure was just 21, with 32 to losses to his name.
He called himself the Monday Night Messiah, but Messiah he is not. He’s not even a naughty boy. Rollins has since moved to Smackdown and last competed in Survivor Series, where he allowed Sheamus to eliminate him. He hasn’t appeared since, with the wrestler taking time out to look after his new born child. Which makes him slightly more likeable, outside of the ring.
His return has since been delayed with him initially meant to have been returning on New Year’s Day. That didn’t happen and it’s all gone a little bit quiet.
His record in 2020 makes him certainly not worth a bet on this year and at 14/1 he won’t be our pick for Royal Rumble this time around. It could be another year of whoopings for Rollins, and we’d welcome that with open arms. Monday Night Messiah? More like Friday Night Failure.
