PRO WRESTLING NOAH HIGHER GROUND TOUR KICKS OFF, DRAGON GATE OPEN THE NEW YEAR TOUR AND MORE FROM JAPAN

Pro Wrestling NOAH held the first show of its Higher Ground 2021 tour in Korakuen Hall today.

The full results were:

• Mohammed Yone and Shuhei Taniguchi def. Kinya Okada and Yoshiki Inamura
• Ikuto Hidaka, Kotaro Suzuki and NOSAWA Rongai def. Atsushi Kotoge, Daiki Inaba and Junta Miyawaki
• Haoh, Nioh and Tadasuke def. HAYATA, Yoshinari Ogawa and Yuya Susumu
• GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship: Daisuke Harada (c) def. Hajime Ohara
• Katsuhiko Nakajima, Kenoh, Manabu Soya and Masa Kitamiya def. Go Shiozaki, Kaito Kiyomiya, Naomichi Marufuji and Takashi Sugiura

Daisuke Harada made his second successful defense of the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship against Hajime Ohara. He was challenged by Seiki Yoshioka afterwards and the match will take place Destination 2021 in the Nippon Budokan on February 12.

Harada and Yoshioka will face off in six-man tag team match action at NOAH’s final Higher Ground 2021 tour show in Korakuen Hall on January 31. Harada will team with Go Shiozaki and Kaito Kiyomiya, while Yoshioka will team with Keiji Mutoh and Naomichi Marufuji.

It was also announced Marufuji will team with Jun Akiyama against Kiyomiya and Yoshiki Inamura at Destination 2021.

Dragon Gate

Dragon Gate continued its Open the New Year Gate 2021 tour in EDION Arena Osaka #2 today.

The full results were:

• La Estrella def. Kagetora
• Dragon Kid and Keisuke Okuda def. SB KENTo and Takashi Yoshida via DQ

Jason Lee defeated BxB Hulk in the main event. Lee challenged Hulk to defend the Open The Twin Gate Championships (held with KAI) against him and Kota Minoura. Hulk accepted.

Masato Yoshino has missed the start of the Open the New Year Gate 2021 tour due to lingering issues with his pre-existing neck injury. He was replaced today by Masaaki Mochizuki, who will continue to substitute for Yoshino on upcoming shows.

Dragon Gate will continue its Open the New Year Gate 2021 tour in Kuwana Yamamori Gymnasium tomorrow. The full card is:

Pro Wrestling ZERO1

Pro Wrestling ZERO1 has postponed all its shows in January due to the state of emergency in Tokyo.

ZERO1 had three shows scheduled on January 14, 17 and 23. Of note, Shinjiro Otani and Yumehito Imanari were scheduled to defend the Intercontinental Tag Team Championships against El Lindaman and T-Hawk on January 14.
