Ace Austin became the 2021 Impact Wrestling Super X Cup Tournament winner during tonight's Genesis 2021 PPV on Impact+, defeating Blake Christian in an entertaining tournament final.
Austin defeated Suicide and Cousin Jake in the opening round and semi-final brackets of the tournament.
Christian defeated KC Navarro and Crazy Steve in his path to the finals.
The tournament revived the Super X Cup for the first time since 2017.
Originally held in 2003, the first Super X Cup was won by Chris Sabin, who defeated Juventud Guerrera in the finals. Samoa Joe won the tournament in 2005. Dezmond Xavier won the 2017 tournament, which was held under the Global Force Wrestling banner.
Tonight's win is the latest accolade for Ace Austin of late after being named the 2020 X-Division Wrestler of the Year.
Impact also held Team X Cup Tournaments in 2004, 2006 and 2008.
