By Oliver Taylor on 2021-01-06 08:20:00

New Japan Pro Wrestling

New Japan Pro Wrestling held its New Year Dash!! show in Tokyo Dome City Hall today.

The full results were:

• Yuji Nagata def. Gabriel Kidd
• DOUKI and Minoru Suzuki def. Tiger Mask and Yuya Uemura
• Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb and Will Ospreay def. Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima and Yota Tsuji
• El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa def. El Desperado, Taichi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Zack Sabre Jr.
• Hirooki Goto, Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii, Toru Yano and YOSHI-HASHI def. Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens, EVIL, Jay White and Yujiro Takahashi
• BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, SANADA, Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito def. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi, Master Wato, Rocky Romero and SHO

Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb and Will Ospreay continued to assault Hiroyoshi Tenzan, Satoshi Kojima and Yota Tsuji after the match. Tenzan was taken out on a stretcher.

El Phantasmo pinned Yoshinobu Kanemaru in the fourth match to set up a future IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships match. El Desperado and Kanemaru made their second successful defense of the titles against Master Wato and Rysuke Taguchi yesterday.

Tomohiro Ishii pinned Jay White and White was immediately helped backstage. Many fans were expecting a major angle to take place after White announced he planned to quit the company after today’s show following his loss to Kota Ibushi yesterday.

SHO will be Hiromu Takahashi’s first challenger for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. Takahashi said he wanted to face SHO to avenge his Best of the Super Juniors loss.

Shingo Takagi issued a challenge to Hiroshi Tanahashi. If the match takes place, it would be the first time Tanahashi has challenged for the NEVER Openweight Championship. If the IWGP Heavyweight Championship and IWGP Intercontinental Championship are unified, the NEVER Openweight Championship would naturally become the second most important heavyweight title.

BUSHI challenged Master Wato to a singles match.
