HOW ROH HANDLED THE PANDEMIC: RING OF HONOR TV REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2021-01-05 20:34:00

We begin this week's episode with still photos looking back at ROH Final Battle.  Quinn McKay greets us and lets us know that tonight is a special episode. ROH is looking back at the onset of the global pandemic.  ROH entertained its fans throughout the spring and summer with personality profiles.

Matt Taven recalls the "Lost" weekend in Las Vegas.  He reminds us how much international talent is in ROH that was stuck in their homes prior to the March PPV (the next day actually would have been the Pure Title Tournament.  He remembers the panic of not knowing if they'd be allowed home.  His ROH family kept him grounded.

We then hear from Flip Gordon, who found out in mid air that the show had been cancelled.  Flip volunteered to wrestle at Sam's Club (the building had already been set up) against Bandido.

We see the "lost" match from Vegas where Gordon defeated Bandido.

Session Moth Martina, Brawler Milonas, Cheeseburger and Beer City Bruiser talk about their nightmare flights to Vegas to make it to the doomed PPV.  We see more highlights from the empty arena matches.  I forgot how entertaining Session Moth and the Bouncers are together.

We see some of the entertaining initiatives ROH took for their fans, specifically talking about the ROH Trivia nights on Zoom and Quinn McKay's Week by Week show.

In another empty arena match from March, we see highlights of Mark Haskins' victory over Jay Lethal.

We end the show with well wishes from ROH stars.
