WWE NXT UK REPORT: LOOKING BACK AT TWO MATCHES FROM 2020 AND 2021 NEW YEARS WISHES FOR 2021

We begin with the graphic In Memory of Jon Huber.

Your host is Andy Shepherd and he is joined by Rudolph and Frosty.

Andy tells us that we will see some of the best talent from NXT UK on tonight’s show.

Match Number One: Mark Coffey and Wolfgang (with Joe Coffey) versus Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan in a Non Title Match (from February 13, 2020 episode)

Mark and Burch start things off. They lock up and Mark backs Burch into the corner. Mark with a clean break. They lock up and Burch with a side head lock. Wolfgang tags in and punches Burch before applying a side head lock and take down. Wolfgang with a cravate. Mark tags in and he punches Burch and applies an arm bar. Burch with a reversal and Lorcan tags in.

Lorcan with a chop and Lorcan with a reverse atomic drop followed by a chop. Burch tags in and they hit a double atomic drop and then they make a wish on Mark. Burch with European uppercuts. Mark goes to the floor on an Irish whip and Wolfgang comes in and distracts Mark. Mark with forearms to the back and Wolfgang tags in. Wolfgang with a snap mare followed by a half nelson and chin bar. Wolfgang with an Irish whip and Burch goes through the legs to tag in Lorcan. Lorcan with running European uppercuts to Mark and Wolfgang but Wolfgang with a hip to stop Lorcan. Wolfgang knocks Burch off the apron.

Mark tags back in and he connects with a knee to the back. Lorcan with punches and Mark with a back body drop. Wolfgang tags in and hits a back senton for a near fall. Wolfgang with a half nelson and chin bar. Wolfgang with a full nelson on Lorcan. Lorcan with an arm drag to escape but Wolfgang keeps Lorcan from making the tag. Mark tags in. Mark with punches and forearms to Lorcan. Mark with a knee and he uses the ropes to add pressure to the arm. Mark kicks Lorcan and follows with a forearm. Wolfgang tags in and he kicks Lorcan.

Wolfgang tells Lorcan to hit him and Lorcan with a chop. Wolfgang with a forearm. Lorcan with another chop and Wolfgang with a forearm. Wolfgang with forearms and Lorcan with chops. Wolfgang with an accordion slam but he misses a moonsault when Lorcan moves. Burch and Mark tag in and Burch drop kicks Wolfgang to the floor. Burch with punches and a European uppercut followed by elbows and another European uppercut. Burch with a kick in the corner followed by a German suplex. Burch with a head butt and Lorcan tags in. Wolfgang breaks up the double team move and Burch with a head butt to Wolfgang. Lorcan with chops to Mark followed by a Blockbuster. Burch tags in.

Mark with a kick to Burch and Lorcan is sent to the floor. Burch goes to the turnbuckles and Mark pulls him off. Wolfgang tags in and then Mark tags back in. Wolfgang catapults Burch onto Mark but Burch escapes and applies a crossface. Lorcan with a single leg crab on Wolfgang. Wolfgang kicks Lorcan into Burch to force Danny to release the hold.

Wolfgang spears Lorcan and they go to the floor. Mark with a full nelson slam and Wolfgang tags in. Mark with an enzuigiri and Wolfgang with a power slam for the three count.

Winners: Mark Coffey and Wolfgang

We are back with Ashton Smith and he says Oliver hasn’t called but he wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Amale wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Gallus wishes everyone a Happy New Year while Mark and Wolfgang hold their title belts and Joe carries his title dog. Isla Dawn wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Wild Boar wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Noam Dar says he is already celebrating 2021 and he has a lot of goals to achieve.

Sam Gradwell has a review of 2020. He says he is a wonderful man and he is the only man who can breathe on the moon. He says he keeps a detailed diary up in his memory. He says January was very cold. February was a bit warmer. March, things got broken, but he became an expert in celestial navigation. Every day I went to the river and swipped no less than 12 Japanese catfish. NXT UK emerged with the Heritage Cup Tournament. We had a main event for the ages between Ilja Dragunov and WALTER. We had the return of Sam Gradwell, defying the odds. Sam wishes everyone a happy new year.

We take a look at Pretty Deadly, Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley. Lewis says that since Sam is the dj tonight, he decided to make some drinks. Sam samples the first one and he spits it out. Lewis gives Sam a second one and Sam says it is good but missing a few ingredients. It is a bit stale. Lewis says he is calling that one The Gallus. Sam refuses to drink the third one.
Lewis says he has a special one just for Sam. Sam approves of the color and aroma. He says it is a winner. Sam says the name is the Pretty Deadly. Lewis says it is a drink to truly quench your thirst. The year 2020 was a teaser, but in 2021, you will get a mouthful.

Sam says whether you are out celebrating or alone, have a Happy New Year.

Jinny wishes everyone a Happy New Year. She says not to make any New Year’s Resolutions because you will fail. Ilja Dragunov wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Kenny Williams wishes everyone a Happy New Year and hopes it is your luckiest one. Primate wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Dani Luna wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Joseph Conners asks what are your New Year’s Resolutions going to be? A new year, a new me. Chris Sharpe wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Jack Starz wishes everyone a Happy New Year. Nina Samuels wishes everyone a Happy New Year and she tells you to take your seats because this will be the year of the Nina Samuels Show.

In two weeks, A-Kid will face WALTER for the NXT UK Championship.

Jinny will face Piper Niven next week in a Number One Contender Match.

Tyler Bate says they were in the original NXT UK tournament. Jordan says he is one of the few in NXT UK who does not look at Blackpool with fond memories. Tyler says he did not get knocked out of the tournament while Jordan says he lost in the semifinals. Tyler says he went on to become the first NXT UK Champion.

Jordan says he had to fight and scratch to get what fell into Tyler Bate’s lap.

Tyler says Jordan has been concerned with all of this bitterness. Jordan says Tyler doesn’t know who he is stepping into the ring with. Tyler says he is faster and stronger than Jordan. Jordan says he will rip that moustache off Tyler’s face.

 

Match Number Two:  Tyler Bate versus Jordan Devlin (from NXT UK Takeover Blackpool 2)

Tyler makes sure that Jordan hears the crowd cheering for him before they lock up.  They lock up and Devlin pushes Bate on a break and connects with a head butt.  They lock up and Devlin with a wrist lock.  Bate with a wrist lock take down but Devlin maintains the wrist lock.  Bate with a monkey flip but Devlin holds on to the wrist lock.  Bate with a reversal and take down.  Devlin goes for Devil Inside but Bate counters with a take down.  Devlin with a jackknife cover.  Devlin with a kick to the midsection and a side head lock.  Bate with a monkey flip into the ropes.  Bate with a back body drop.  Bate presses Devlin over his head and slams Devlin to the mat.

Bate with a drop kick that sends Devlin over the top rope to the floor.  Devlin with a uranage and then an Asai moonsault for a near fall.  Devlin with punches to Bate.  Devlin with a knee to the midsection and Devlin gets a near fall.  Devlin with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall.  Devlin with an elbow to the nose and then he chokes Tyler in the ropes.  Deviln with a butterfly suplex and then he mocks Tyler by posing like him.  Devlin kicks Bate.  Devlin kicks Bate in the head and tries for Devil Inside but Bate blocks it and Bate sends Devlin over the top rope to the floor.

Bate with a plancha. Bate sends Devlin back in and Bate goes to the turnbuckles.  Bate goes for a cross body but Devlin gets the knees up with a jumping gutbuster for a near fall.  Devlin with a forearm to the lower back.  Devlin stands on Bate's throat.  Devlin sets for a surfboard and Devlin adds a chin lock to add more pressure to the back.  Devlin releases the hold.  Bate with a rollup for a near fall.  Bate and Devlin both go for cross body presses at the same time and both men go down.

Bate goes to the turnbuckles and hits a European uppercut.  Devlin is caught in the corner by Bate and Bate with an exploder.  Bate sets for a shooting star press and Devlin gets his knees up so Bate stops.  Bate with a kick and then he hits a shooting star press for a near fall.  Bate misses a splash into the corner.  Devlin goes for a slingshot move and Bate catches Devln on his shoulders.  Bate with an airplane spin and he goes into Mach 2 after refueling and dhe sends Devlin hard to the mat.  Bate has trouble gaining his balance but he gets Devlin up for a brainbuster and gets a near fall.  

Devlin blocks a Tyler Driver 97 and hits a flip rana for a near fall.  Bate gets a near fall with a rollupo.  Devlin blocks a victory roll attempt and Devlin with a German suplex for a near fall.  Devlin is sent to the apron by Bate but Devlin with a slingshot cutter and Bate goes to the apron.  Devlin with a slingshot cutter onto the apron.  The referee makes his count and Devlin kicks Bate in the chest and returns to the ring.  Bate pops into the ring right before the referee can get to ten.  

Devlin with kicks and Bate blocks Devlin and connects with a forearm.  They go back and forth.  Devlin with a jab to Bate and then they go back and forth with punches.  Bate goes for Bop but Devlin with a punch and Bate comes off the ropes with a rolling kick.  Devlin with a head butt to stop Bate from hitting Tyler Driver 97.  Bate with a back body drop and then Devlin with a Spanish Fly.  Bate with punches and both men are down.  Devlin pulls Bate into position and Jordan goes to the turnbuckles.  Bate crotches Devlin and puts Devlin on the turnbuckles.  Devlin grabs Bate by the throat and Devlin hits a Spanish Fly followed by Devil Inside for a near fall.  

Devlin with Kawada kicks and boots to the head.  Devlin with a jab to Bate and then he sets for a Tyler Driver 97 but Bate escapes.  Bate is sent to the apron and he gives Devlin a head butt and both men are down.  Bate with a double jump tornado DDT and Tyler Driver 97 for a near fall.  Bate goes to the turnbuckles and goes for a corkscrew splash and hits it for the three count.

Winner:  Tyler Bate

We see Triple H, William Regal, and Johnny Saint giving Tyler Bate a standing ovation for his performance.
