BIG JAPAN x DDT PRO TAG TEAM TOURNAMENT RESULTS, WHITE TALKS WRESTLE KINGDOM, TAMURA EXITS JTO AND MORE FROM JAPAN

Big Japan Pro Wrestling

Big Japan Pro Wrestling held a one-night tag team tournament co-promoted with DDT Pro-Wrestling in Korakuen Hall today.

The full results were:

• First round: HARASHIMA and Yuji Okabayashi def. Yuya Aoki and Yukio Naya
• First round: Akira Hyodo and Makoto Oishi vs. Konosuke Takeshita and Takuya Nomura – Time Limit Draw (10 minutes)
• First round: Konosuke Takeshita and Takuya Nomura def. Akira Hyodo and Makoto Oishi
• First round: Yasufumi Nakanoue and Yuki Ueno def. Danshoku Dieno and Drew Parker
• First round: Daisuke Sekimoto and Tetsuya Endo def. Chris Brookes and Hideyoshi Kamitani
• Deathmatch: Ryuji Ito def. Shunma Katsumata
• Semifinal: HARASHIMA and Yuji Okabayashi vs. Konosuke Takeshita and Takuya Nomura – Time Limit Draw (15 minutes)
• Semifinal: HARASHIMA and Yuji Okabayashi def. Konosuke Takeshita and Takuya Nomura
• Semifinal: Yasufumi Nakanoue and Yuki Ueno def. Daisuke Sekimoto and Tetsuya Endo
• Daichi Hashimoto, Kazuki Hashimoto, Kazusada Higuchi and Yukio Sakaguchi def. Hideki Okatani, Keigo Nakamura, Takuho Kato and Yuki Ishikawa
• Final: HARASHIMA and Yuji Okabayashi def. Yasufumi Nakanoue and Yuki Ueno

HARASHIMA and Yuji Okabayashi won the tournament after Okabayashi defeated Yasufumi Nakanoue. Okabayashi will defend the BJW World Strong Heavyweight Championship against Nakanoue on January 2.

Kosuke Sato missed the eight-man tag team match due to injury. He was replaced by Yuki Ishikawa.

Pro Wrestling ZERO1

Pro Wrestling ZERO1 will hold a show in Korakuen Hall tomorrow.

The full card is:

• Kazuki Hashimoto vs. Satsuki Nagao
• Shoki Kitamura and Takumi Baba vs. Soma Watanabe and Takanori Ito
• Chris Vice and Yoshikazu Yokoyama vs. Hartley Jackson and Yuko Miyamoto
• Asuka and Takuya Sugawara vs. Hide Kubota and Yasu Kubota
• Aja Kong, Shinjiro Otani and Yumehito Imanari vs. CIMA, El Lindaman and T-Hawk
• World Heavyweight Championship: Hayato Tamura (c) vs. Masato Tanaka

Hayato Tamura will attempt his third defense of the World Heavyweight Championship against Masato Tanaka. The pair wrestled to a 30-minute time limit draw during the Fire Festival tournament in October.

CIMA appeared at ZERO1’s show on Christmas Day and said he wants to face the winner of the match. With ZERO1’s twentieth anniversary show in Ry?goku Kokugikan on March 14 rapidly approaching, it will be interesting to see if CIMA challenges for the title before then.

New Japan Pro Wrestling

New Japan Pro Wrestling has uploaded an interview with Jay White ahead of his IWGP Heavyweight Championship and IWGP Intercontinental Championship match against either Tetsuya Naito or Kota Ibushi on January 5.

Topics discussed include EVIL’s standing in Bullet Club, his reaction to Naito winning Tokyo Sports’ MVP Award, his plans for 2021 and much more.

JUST TAP OUT Professional Wrestling

JUST TAP OUT Professional Wrestling announced Hayato Tamura will leave the company after its January 15 show in Korakuen Hall today.

In his last match, Tamura will team with Ryuya Takekura against TAKA Michinoku and Yuji Hino.

Tamura, 25, is one of the fastest rising stars in Japanese wrestling. He debuted in September 2019.

Pro Wrestling NOAH

Kaz Hayashi announced his departure from Sugiura-gun on Twitter today in order to focus on his GLEAT responsibilities.

Hayashi’s stint in Pro Wrestling NOAH was relatively short, having only debuted as a member of Sugiura-gun in June. He notably challenged Kotaro Suzuki for the GHC Junior Heavyweight Championship on June 21.

GLEAT

GLEAT has uploaded Soma Watanabe and Takanori Ito in a UWF Rules match on its YouTube channel.

The next upload will be Watanabe versus #STRONGHEARTS member Issei Onitsuka in a singles match.

DDT Pro-Wrestling

DDT Pro-Wrestling has uploaded Chris Brookes, HARASHIMA, Keigo Nakamura and Shinya Aoki versus Mad Paulie, Soma Takao, Tetsuya Endo and Yuji Hino from its December 27 show in Korakuen Hall onto its YouTube channel.

The match was Hino’s re-debut in DDT as a member of DAMNATION.
