MATCH OF THE YEAR REVEALED & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

Impact Wrestling on AXS opened with a graphic honoring the passing of Jon "Brodie Lee" Huber.

Josh Mathews and Scott D'Amore welcomed everyone to the second part of their Best of 2020.  They congratulated Deonna Purrazzo for her Wrestler of the Year win.  They plugged the Hard to Kill PPV main event.  They did a hard sell for the Kenny Omega & Good Brothers vs. Motor City Machine Guns & Rich Swann main event.

The Moment of the Year was Slammiversary 2021.

They plugged the 1/9 Genesis Impact+ event.

They showed Willie Mack vs. Ace Austin from Rebellion 2020.

Kiera Hogan and Tasha Steelz did a promo backstage where they said in 2021 they want the Knockouts Tag Team Championship.'

Josh and Scott talked the Knockouts Tournament.  Next week, it will be Jazz & Jordynee Grace vs. Havok & Neveah with the winners moving on to the Hard to Kill PPV finals against Steelz & Hogan.

Backstage, Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo said she typically doesn't deal with the peasants of the Knockouts division, but Taya goes on and on about being the longest reigning Knockouts Champion of all time.  Kimber Lee said when she defeats her....Deonna said they are adding to the foundation they are laying here in Knockouts.  If she can beat the longest reigning Knockouts Champion, then Deonna will prove that she will be the longest reigning champion.  She said that when she's done unveiling her next masterpiece, it was be the end of Taya.

Scott D'Amore said the match was official for Hard to Kill.  He and Josh talked up the Knockouts division and Deonna as champion.

Impact Wrestling Champion Rich Swann said his resolution for 2021 was to bring Impact to its highest level.

They ran down the lineup for next week and then reviewed Rich Swann's year.

Jordynne Grace said her resolution was to respond to people on Twitter less.  YES.

Josh and Scott recapped the return of The Motor City Machine Guns.  They have inspired an entire generation of teams, including The Young Bucks.

They aired The North vs. The Motor City Machine Guns from Impact TV.

They pushed the Hard to Kill PPV main event and showed Impact talent tweets responding to the AEW-Impact crossover.

Johnny Swinger wished Bill Watts a happy new year.

Acey Romero found Crazzy Steve.  He said Larry D was set up and is in jail.  Everything was pitch black when John E. Bravo was shot because no one saw anything but perhaps he thought Crazzy Steve might have heard or smelled something.  Steve said his bat radar kicked in and he heard some scuttlebutt but it came from the groom's side.  He said Romero may want to talk to Swinger.  Steve walked away and Romero saw Tommy Dreamer's discarded detective's hat.  He picked it up for himself.

They reviewed Wrestle House.

Josh and Scott reviewed the X-Division scene and pushed the three-way set for the X-Division title at Hard to Kill.

They aired Manik vs. Rohit Raju from Final Resolution 2020.

Brian Myers said he doesn't make New Year's Resolutions because you should be the best you 365 days a year, not project on a holiday.  He's going to do that every day.

They recapped Ken Shamrock being inducted into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame.  They aired Shamrock's Hall of Fame induction, including The Rock's speech.

Eddie Edwards said he doesn't tend to make New Year's Resolution.  He just sets goals, so he can continue on a forward path and make himself, the company and his family better.

Josh and Scott talked about all the great matches Impact has had in 2020.

The Match of the Year was revealed...Slammiversary main event - Eric Young vs. Rich Swann vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin vs. Trey Miguel.

They aired the match.

Eddie Edwards, who won the Impact title in that match, was in front of his Christmas tree at home.  He thanked everyone for voting in the match because it's very special to him as he won his second Impact title.  He thanked everyone who worked in front of and behind the scenes for everything they do to make Impact what it is.  He said he just wants to keep making Impact better.

Josh and Scott thanked everyone for tuning in.
