THE MAIN FIGHT OF 2020

By Kendall Jenkins on 2020-12-28 08:53:00

Despite the pandemic and the growth of https://casinochanbonus.com/ and other online casinos, WWE is still one of the main entertainment options. And near the end of the year, the question becomes, what was the best revenge in 2020?

Even though there were so many enmities, Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton, Bayley and Sasha Banks, Roman Reigns and Jay Uso, one storyline stood out from the rest.

It was the return of Edge's feud against Randy Orton. Despite all the feuds this year, this one certainly left its mark a little deeper and was the best of many others.

The reason the Edge vs. Orton fight is so good is simple. The rivalry has evolved into a decade-long friendship in WWE.

The feud combines depth and a brilliant display of wrestling on both sides. Orton and Edge reminded fans what wrestling was like in the old days.

First, the feud was so intense because Edge returned after a 10-year hiatus. His return after retiring after a neck injury drew applause from the audience.

The feud began at Royal Rumble 2020 when Orton tried to eliminate his partner Edge. The two, despite being close friends in the ring, ended up feuding badly.

At WrestleMania, Edge defeated Orton in a Last Man Standing match, which included a backstage brawl in which the two superstars went to the limit. They faced each other again at Backlash in a match that WWE proclaimed to be the greatest wrestling match in history.

In both matches, not just the fight itself, the pure emotion displayed by both fighters was something remarkable. The art of storytelling by living veterans of the business came to fruition when Edge took on Randy Orton.

Emotion in wrestling is rare in the world these days. As overly complicated techniques take over the modern wrestler's attention, they forget the key point of the business: emotion.

In fact, the Orton vs. Edge fight was such a great example of wrestling that WWE trainers replayed the match for performance center recruits. The bout was celebrated by WWE legends and Hall of Fame members.

The feud could have gone much further had Edge not been broken by a triceps injury sustained during the fight. It lasted for a short time, but they managed to make a big impact.

Bailey vs. Sasha Banks also kept SmackDown afloat thanks to the huge audience they attracted. Yet, Edge vs. Orton really had the edge in the critical aspects.

If Edge does return, we can expect him to bring to life the best feud of 2021.
