Action’s been a consistently good though the pandemic times and I’m watching the first half of their December double header, featuring a title match between Arik Royal and 2-year Action champion A.C. Mack. Dylan Hales and Johnny Mosley are on commentary.

Winner: Rob Killjoy
Good start! This started slow but worked up into a flurry of high spots. We get a promo for A. C. Mack promising a victory tonight and another year of his title reign.
Match 2: “The Suplex Assassin” Alex Kane vs “The Baby Dragon” Erron Wade
Wade throwing a bunch of kicks right at the bell and staggers Kane. Wade reverses a suplex and dropkicks Kane to the outside, hitting a follow up dive to the front row. Kane dodges a spinning kick and starts tossing Erron Wade around the ring space. Wade powders manages to post Kane when he chases him down. Wade with more kicks and drags Kane down into a front choke. Spinning kick to the head and Wade gets a two count. He tries another but Kane catches it, cracks a forearm across the face. X-plex and a cradle suplex and Wade is out.
Winner: Alex Kane
Wade did his damndest to chop the big man down but Alex Kane ate it all and destroyed his those suplexes. Kevin Ku & Dominic Garrini are out to confront Alex Kane before Ku’s upcoming match. Garrini was supposed to fight Lutha X but Lutha is out tonight. He challenges Alex Kane for a match on the second half of the double header. Kane accepts and that’s a match for “Friday Night Fights 3”
Match 3: “Braindead” Kevin Ryan vs Kevin Ku
Ryan swarms Ku at the bell. Step up rana and a dive but Ku cuts him off and ties of the legs. Ryan trying to slap his way out but Ku starts dropping bombs in the hold till Ryan gets the ropes. Trading loud chops and Ryan crumbles. More chops and Ku reverses one into a dragon screw. Ow (that looked great though). Ku ties up the legs again and stalks Ryan with kicks and chops after the rope break. Ryan tries to hop into a guillotine but Ku reverse it and hits a PK for two. Ku back up with a doctor bomb and wraps up the legs again for the submission.
Winner: Kevin Ku
Kevinmania ran wild tonight. Confirmed banger. Kevin absolutely beat the crap out of Kevin Ryan but I’ve enjoyed every effort this guy has made against the toughest folks that Action could throw at him.
Match 4: “The Mercenary” Graham Bell vs Bailey Blake
Bell gets caught running in at the bell and Blake Blake throwing knees and a senton that send his opponent to the outside. Bell drags Blake to the wall but gets posted into a support beam. Blake faceplants him for two. Bell with a one-armed slam, PK and a heart grenade(suplex-style lungblower)....Blake is up and hits an unprettier! Kick out! Bell with a spear and the heart grenade for the pin!
Winner: Graham Bell
The announcer hits the ring to deliver a piece of mail to Graham Bell. Inside is.....well, we don’t know but Bell is definitely excited by the contents. This match ruled. Bailey Blake carried his momentum from nearly defeating AC Mack at Action Futures to a highly competitive contest with the mercenary. Yeah, this was super good. Add this to your watch list. We get a Graham Bell promo. His business card is the trail of bodies he leaves behind....and someone has noticed. Looks like the mercenary has a client.
Match 5: Damyan Tangra vs Cabana Man Dan
Damyan Tangra had a good showing against Alex Kane last month while CMD was on the receiving end of an uncomfortable beating from Suge D. Both guys showing respect in a flurry of back and forth technical trades. CMB feeling like he has something to prove as he works the arm and wrist of Tangra. Pace picks up as CMD hits some arm drags and cradles for two. Fast pin attempts and traps back and forth. CMD with a side Russian leg sweep and a mule kick for two. Tangra catches the surf’s up and crushes CMD’s chest over the knee. Butterfly suplex from Tangra for two. Dan fights out of a fireman’s carry and hits springboard ddt for two. CMD with the Surf’s Up (sliced bread) and Tangra is down for three
Winner: Cabana Man Dan
The bangers keep coming. These two were out to kill....but like, respectfully. Dan had to not get put to sleep (like last month) and it was great to see him get this hard-fought win.
Match 6: Bobby Flaco vs Adrian Alanis (w/ Liam Gray)
It’s big fight feel between a few former members of AR Fox’s Skulk faction. Fast and furious right at the start. Flaco with a roll through pin attempt. Alanis dropkicks Flaco out of the air for two. Lawn dart and a lariat to the back of head sends Flaco to the floor. Alanis with a senton for two. He misses a second one and Flaco dives his face to the mat. Gray gets booted for being too close to the apron, which Alanis uses to catch Flaco with a backdrop to the hardest part of the ring. Alanis with corner clotheslines and a flying back elbow for two. Flaco gets slingshot into the bottom rope. Flaco lands some chops but Alanis is too powerful. Flaco with a sunset flip facebuster and fires up with a facebuster and cutter for a hot and close two. Sling blade by Alanis acorsss the knee and a tiger driver for two! Blue thunder bomb and another near fall. Crowd trying to will Flaco back up. Flaco with a DDT for two. Poisonrana! Alanis is down for the count.
Winner: Bobby Flaco
Well, that was great. Bobby Flaco is always entertaining and worked his ass off here in a hard fought win. Adrian Alanis, welcome back! Alanis looked awesome here. Certified banger. Promo of Arik Royal on the Bald Monkeys Podcast. Arik Royal says he is just as smart as AC Mack and willing to take the same shortcuts Mack is to get that belt.
Main Event: AC Mack(c) vs “ACEGAWD” Arik Royal (for the Action Championship
Mack on the mic with his belt held high by the demoted announcer, as he does. He says that belt isn’t leaving his possession until he says it can. Mack comes in aggressive at the bell, he HAS TO against the big man. Mack targeting the knees while Royal warns the ref to watch what Mack is REALLY going for. Royal with a brief advantage with a drop toe hold and headlock but Mack reverses into a chicken wing and tries to take the arm as his own. Acegawd clubs his way out of danger and hits a seated senton from the second rope. A pair of running low shoulder blocks send the champ to the concrete, barely missing the stairs. Royal breaks up the count while Mack crawls back into the ring to take the two count. Body scissors from Royal and he’s gouging at Mack’s eyes from behind. Scissors rolls into a pin attempt. Rear naked choke and Mack bites his way out of the hold. Royal with a flying back kick drops the champ again. Mack tags a shot to the head and kicks the knees. Mack caught running into an abdominal stretch. Mack reverses into a back slide for two. Black hole backbreaker from Arik royal for a VERY close two. Mack takes advantage of Royal needing a breather and lands a series of shots to the face and midsection. Shotgun dropkick sends the acegawd out. Top suicida leaves Mack jawing insults to the Royal’s face. Scrambling around the post and both guys taste the steel. Mack with a flying knee off the apron crumbles Royal to the concrete. Mack pulling Royal into another Mack-10 but Bell is back on the apron. Mack throws a forearm at Bell and gets the ref instead. Ref calls for the bell and awards the match to the Acegawd.
Winner: Arik Royal (by DQ)
Of course, this means Mack is still the champ. Royal on the mic. He respects how AC Mack has kept his belt for two years but he calls bull on how this “victory” went down. Royal isn’t asking for another shot...he is DEMANDING it. Mack says he’s got his shot after Action’s secret show in January....and it will be no DQ. Graham Bell ambushes from behind while Arik Royal leaves him high and dry. The locker room empties to send him packing. Was Royal the client that hired the mercenary? We’ll see, I guess. Great match that ended before its time. The follow up should ALSO be a banger...and likely more definitive a finish.
And that’s it for “Bangers Only”. Like I said, this is the first half of the Action December doubleheader so I’ll cover “Friday Night Fights 3” now that it arrived on IWTV. As for this one, well you saw what I said. Lot of increasingly good matches as the night went on. I like how Action stacks the card through the night. FNF3 should be as good, if not better. Until then!
