?12/23/20 Results for New Japan Road to Tokyo Dome from Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan

Master Wato, Ryusuke Taguchi and Tiger Mask vs. Gabriel Kidd, Yuya Uemura and Yota Tsuji.  Wato pins Uemura with an RPP.  Solid opener.   The Jr. Tag team challengers get the rub for teaming with Tiger Mask.

Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi and SANADA vs. Taiji Ishimori, Dick Togo and EVIL.  Hiromu comes to the ring with an El Phantasmo mask and imitating his opponent at Wrestle Kingdom.   Very funny.  Takagi pins Togo after a Pumping Bomber.   EVIL hits Takagi and Hiromu with a chair.   SANADA grabs a chair and they start dueling.   They destroy the chairs and they battle into the crowd.    The officials run to stop them from going into the crowd.

KOPW 2020 Match (Body Slam Challenge): Toru Yano vs. Bad Luck Fale.  Chase Owens accompanied Fale to ringside.    Yano came out wearing a backpack.   Fale attacked him at the bell.  Fale again stomped on the KOPW trophy.   Fale tried to slam Yano but could not.    Fale beat down Yano and got the bag off him.   He opened the bag which had a plastic bag of sand.   Funny stuff.   Fale tried to drop the bag of sand on Yano, but he rolled out of the ring.  Owens attacked Yano outside the ring.  Owens gets thrown into the guardrails.   Fale gets sprayed in the eyes by Yano’s hand sanitizer.   The match goes back into the ring and Fale continues to beat down Yano.   Yano unties all four turnbuckle pads.   Fale tries to slam Yano but Yano grabs the referee’s shirt.   The referee takes a bump.  Fale tells the referee to get up.  Yano grabs the bag of sand and throws it.   It misses Fale and hits the referee in the chest.  Fale body slams Yano.  Fale celebrates.     But the referee is on his back with a bag of sand on his chest.   Fale gets angry at the referee and Yano hits him with a low blow.   Owens enters the ring to attack Yano.  Yano throws the bag of sand into Owens.    Fale tried for another slam but Yano hits another low blow.    Yano slams Fale.    Yano wins!  They present Yano with another bigger KOPW trophy.   Lots of silliness here, but yet still fun.

Toa Henare and Satoshi Kojima vs. KENTA and Jay White, with Gedo.  Kojima was a replacement for Juice Robinson.  White pins Henare with a Bladerunner.   Solid for what it was.

Tomoaki Honma, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada vs. Great O-Khan, Jeff Cobb and Will Ospreay, with Bea Priestley.  Cobb pins Honma after a Tour of the Islands.   Great match!    The Empire tried to attack Tanahashi’s leg but Okada stopped them.   They laid out Ospreay laid out Okada with a rolling elbow.   Tanahashi got a chair and beat down O-Khan.  The Empire escaped to the locker room.

SHO and Kota Ibushi vs. BUSHI and Tetsuya Naito.  SHO pins BUSHI with a Shock Arrow.  Another great match!   Ibushi and Naito have a face off after the match.    Jay White comes out to ringside.   White tells them that they are not fighting each other for the two titles.  They are both fighting to face Jay White.   He says one of them will be fulfilling his “Destino” and he will become “God”.   He said it does not matter who it is, you both will have to breathe with the Switchblade, because it will be his New Era.  Ibushi addresses Naito respectfully and Naito responds in kind.     Ibushi seemed different in that he did not lose his temper or let the words of Jay White or Tetsuya Naito get to him.

The next New Japan event will be Wrestle Kingdom on January 4 and 5.
