NJPW STRONG REPORT: A NEXUS REUNION, KENTA DEFENDS THE BRIEFCASE, AND MORE

Match Number One: Danny Limelight versus Rocky Romero

Romero attacks Limelight before the bell. Romero with punches and Limelight punches back. Romero sends Limelight into the turnbuckles but he runs into a boot. Romero with forearms and kicks followed by a spinning kick in the corner. Romero with a clothesline but Limelight moves and he drops Romero’s arm on the top rope. They go to the floor and Limelight stomps on the arm and sends it into the ring post.

Limelight slams the arm into the edge of the apron followed by a knee drop while the arm is in the ropes. Limelight with a knee drop to the arm and he gets a near fall. Limelight stomps on the arm and kicks Romero in the arm. Limelight with an arm bar and forearms to the arm. Romero with forearms but Limelight with a judo throw into a head lock.

Romero gets a near fall with a rollup. Limelight with a kick to the arm. Limelight with a forearm. Limelight wraps the arm in the ropes and the referee warns him. Romero with a chop and forearm but Limelight with a drop kick. Limelight with his own version of Infinity clotheslines but Romero with a clothesline of his own. Romero with forearms and chops. Romero with a back heel kick and he puts Limelight in the ropes and hits a springboard drop kick to Limelight for a near fall.

Limelight with kicks to the arm but Romero blocks the kick and connects with a forearm. Limelight sends Romero into the turnbuckles and hits a half nelson suplex. Limelight has a round kick blocked but Limelight catches Romero on a leap frog attempt and hits a suplex. Limelight with an arm submission but Romero gets to the ropes.

Limelight kicks Romero and Romero falls to the mat. Limelight with a round kick to the head for a near fall. Limelight comes off the ropes and is met with a drop kick from Romero. Romero with a running shiranui for a near fall. Limelight with a rollup for a near fall. Limelight with a round kick and Romero with a knee. Romero with a falcon arrow into a cross arm breaker and Limelight taps out.

Winner: Rocky Romero

Match Number Two: Jeff Cobb versus Rust Taylor

They lock up and Taylor backs Cobb into the ropes and Taylor with a clean break. They lock up and Taylor with a wrist lock into a top wrist lock and take down. Cobb goes for the legs and they both return to their feet. Taylor with a waist lock. They lock up and Cobb with a waist lock and take down. Cobb with a front face lock and Taylor gets to the ropes.

Taylor with a wrist lock and Cobb with a slam and he tries for a standing moonsault but he is caught in a triangle. Taylor with a kick to the chest and he wraps the arm in the ropes. Taylor with kicks to the shoulder. Cobb with a kick and forearm. Taylor with forearms and chops followed by a snap mare for a near fall. Taylor with an arm bar.

Taylor continues to work on the arm and punches Cobb. Taylor mocks Cobb and he kicks Cobb in the ribs. Taylor with a European uppercut to the arm. Taylor with kicks and Cobb blocks a kick and Cobb with chops and forearms. Cob with a series of forearms in the corner. Cobb with another forearm and an accordion European uppercut. Taylor with a boot to Cobb but Cobb with a spinning side slam for a near fall. Cobb with a waist lock and Taylor blocks a German suplex. Taylor with kicks and he tries for a cross arm breaker.

Cobb escapes but Taylor with a single leg take down into an ankle lock. Cobb kicks Taylro away. Cobb with a forearm and Taylor with an uppercut. Cobb with forearms an chops but Taylor with a boot to the arm followed by strikes and uppercuts. Cobb with a German suplex and Tour of the Islands for the three count.

Winner: Jeff Cobb

We go to the cleaning and disinfection break.

Match Number Three: JR Kratos and Tom Lawlor versus PJ Black and Fred Rosser

Rosser and Kratos start things off/ Rosser with a shot to the back of the head followed by kicks. Kratos sends Rosser to the floor. Kratos with a forearm and Rosser with a flying shoulder tackle. Black tags in and Kratos blocks a kick and sends Black to the mat. Lawlor tags in and he hits a suplex for a near fall. Lawlor with a reverse chin lock but Black with a waist lock and Lawlor with a standing switch.

Black with a side head lock and Lawlor with a corkscrew elbow. Lawlor with a slam and elbow drop for a near fall. Lawlor with forearms followed by a snap mare and kick to the back. Lawlor gets a near fall. Lawlor with a chop and a leg pick when Black goes for a leap frog. Lawlor with an ankle lock but Black kicks him away. Kratos tags in and hits a shoulder tackle. Kratos with a forearm and Lawlor trips Black. Kratos with a deadlift suplex for a near fall.

Kratos with a punch and clothesline in the corner followed by a hard Irish whip. Lawlor tags in and he kicks Black in the back of the leg and then kicks Black in the throat. Rosser is drawn in and that allows Kratos and Lawlor to double team Black. Lawlor with a German suplex but Black lands on his feet. Black with a jumping spin kick and Rosser tags in and he punches Lawlor and head butts him. Rosser sends Lawlor to the floor and Kratos clotheslines Black on the floor. Rosser sends Kratos into the ring post. Lawlor with a wait lock and Rosser with a standing switch. Rosser with a rolling elbow but Lawlor with an exploder.

Black and Kratos tag in and Black wit kicks to Kratos followed by a forearm. Rosser and Black with rolling elbows and a high low combination. Rosser and Lawlor fight to the apron and Rosser stops Lawlor and Black drops Lawlor on the apron. Rosser with a gutbuster and Black with a springboard 450 splash for the three count.

Winners: PJ Black and Fred Rosser

Match Number Four: KENTA versus Brody King in an IWGP North American Title Briefcase Match

The bell rings and KENTA backs into the ropes. They lock up and King sends KENTA to the mat. They lock up and King backs KENTA into the ropes and gives a clean break. KENTA goes to the floor and then looks under the ring for something but cannot find it. KENTA returns to the ring and KENTA kicks King in the leg. KENTA with more kicks to the leg. KENTA with kicks to the chest but King blocks it and he slams KENTA and follows with a back senton for a near fall.

King with forearms and chops. King with a snap mare and he works on the neck. King runs his elbow across the face and then follows with crossfaces and gets a near fall. King with a chop and KENTA falls into the ropes. King with a forearm.
KENTA goes to the floor but King follows and KENTA returns to the ring but he goes back to the floor when King gets back in the ropes. King grabs KENTA and KENTA drops King on the top rope. KENTA with a drop kick. KENTA chokes King in the ropes and kicks King in the thigh. KENTA with kicks to the head.

King tries to kick KENTA away but KENTA with a knee bar and King gets to the ropes. KENTA kicks King in the leg and hamstring. KENTA with a dragon screw leg whip. KENTA kicks King in the leg. KENTA with kicks to the back. KENTA with forearms but King fires back. KENTA slaps King and follows with back fists. King with an Irish whip and clothesline into the corner. King with a clothesline for a near fall.

King gets KENTA on his shoulders but KENTA with a rake of the eyes and a series of kick. KENTA goes to the apron with a tornado move that drops King on the top rope and then he applies a figure four leg lock but King gets to the ropes and forces a break. KENTA with kicks and he stomps on the head. King tries to suplex KENTA to the floor and he gets him to the apron. King and KENTA exchange forearms until KENTA rakes the eyes.

KENTA with a hanging DDT and he gets a near fall. KENTA tries to get King up but King with elbows and forearms. KENTA with punches but King with a side slam for a near fall. King with a piledriver for a near fall. King goes for a power bomb but KENTA rakes the eyes and sends King into the referee so the referee goes down. KENTA goes for the briefcase and takes it and brings it into the ring. King blocks the briefcase but KENTA with a kick and a few shots with the briefcase. KENTA with a kick to the chest and then he gets King up for the Go 2 Sleeper for the three count.

Winner: KENTA (retains briefcase)

After the match, KENTA takes the mic and he wants to know where Jon Moxley is. I don’t want to waste time any more. I am ready to fight, any time . . . anywhere. I am coming for you.
