NJPW ANNOUNCES ROAD TO TOKYO DOME EVENT LINEUPS, ALL JAPAN'S NEW YEAR WARS AND MORE FROM JAPAN

New Japan Pro Wrestling has announced multiple new matches for its two-night Wrestle Kingdom 15 event on January 4 and 5.

Starting with January 4, El Phantasmo will face Hiromu Takahashi with the winner advancing to challenge Taiji Ishimori for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship the next night, Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa will challenge Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP Tag Team Championships and Great-O-Khan will face Hiroshi Tanahashi.

As for January 5, Ishimori will make his aforementioned title defense, Jeff Cobb will challenge Shingo Takagi for the NEVER Openweight Championship and EVIL will face SANADA.

January 2 will be Ikuto Hidaka’s first match in All Japan since unsuccessfully challenging Koji Iwamoto for the World Junior Heavyweight Championship in September. It will be Fuminori Abe’s first since the second night of the Champion Carnival (also in September) and Takuya Nomura’s first since the first Atsushi Aoki memorial show in August 2019.

Dragon Gate

Dragon Gate English commentator Jae has confirmed Yusuke Okada will not be the new member of Shun Skywalker’s stable. The mystery man will debut against Susumu Yokosuka at Dragon Gate’s show in Korakuen Hall tomorrow.

The show will be Akito, Kazuki Hirata and Shota’s first defense of the KO-D 6-Man Tag Team Championships.

The winner of the D-Oh Grand Prix tournament, either Jun Akiyama or Konosuke Takeshita, will challenge Tetsuya Endo for the KO-D openweight Championship at Kawasaki Strong 2021 on February 14.
