12/11 NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING BEST OF SUPER JUNIORS & WORLD TAG LEAGUE FINALS REPORT

12/11 Results from New Japan World Tag League 2020 and Best of Super Juniors 27 from Nippon Budokan Hall, Tokyo, Japan

Toru Yano, SHO and Robbie Eagles vs. Bad Luck Fale, Chase Owens and Taiji Ishimori.  Owens pins Eagles after a Grenade Launcher.   Fine for what it was.  Yano tried to attack Fale.   Fale slammed him to the mat.    Owens and Ishimori held Yano down and Fale stomped and destroyed Yano’s taped up King of Pro Wrestling trophy.  Funny.

Kazuchika Okada, Toa Henare and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Will Ospreay, with Bea Priestley, Jeff Cobb and The Great O-Khan.  This is the first time the Empire appears together in a match.  Cobb pins Henare with a Tour of the Islands.  O-Khan attacked the leg of Tanahashi after the match.   Okada and Ospreay had a face off.   Cobb attacks Okada from behind and Ospreay lays him out with an OsCutter.   Priestley throws a chair in the ring.   The Empire destroy Tanahashi”s leg with the chair.  They pose in the ring over the fallen Tanahashi.

SANADA and Shingo Takagi vs. Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL, with Dick Togo.  During the match, Togo and EVIL layed out SANADA in the entryway.   The ring attendants checked on him, while Takagi had fight off Bullet Club alone.  SANADA was able to recover and get back to the match.  Takagi pins Takahashi with Last of the Dragon.   SANADA attacks EVIL after the match.  The young lions tried to get SANADA off of EVIL but SANADA threw them out of the ring.    Shingo tried to calm SANADA down but he chased EVIL back to the locker area.  Jeff Cobb appeared in the ring to face Shingo Takagi.   Cobb grabbed the NEVER Openweight Championship and they had a tug of war.  Cobb hit Tour of the Islands on Takagi.   Cobb held the belt in the face of Takagi and said “this is mine!”

Master Wato, with Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Kota Ibushi vs. BUSHI and Tetsuya Naito.  Ibushi pins BUSHI after a Kamagoye.   Good match.    Naito and Ibushi play mind games with each other after the match.

World Tag League 2020 Finals: Juice Robinson and David Finlay vs. Tama Tonga and Tanga Loa, with Jado.  Jado tries to trip up Juice early in the match. The referee kicks Jado out of the ringside area.   Awesome wild match!   Both teams hit their big moves but only two counts.   Jado made his way back to ringside.   FinJuice were about to go for the Doomsday Device.   KENTA appeared and smashed Juice in the face with his contract briefcase.   Guerrillas of Destiny hit a Super Powerbomb on Juice.  Tama Tonga pinned a bloodied Juice to win.

The Guerrillas of Destiny win the New Japan World Tag League 2020 Tournament.   

They will likely face Dangerous Tekkers, Zack Sabre Jr. and Taichi at Wrestle Kingdom for the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.

Bullet Club embrace in the ring and give the “Too Sweet” salute.

Best of the Super Junior 27 Finals:  Hiromu Takahashi vs. El Desperado.  Announcers stated that this is the first time the Finals of a Super Junior Tournament is in the main event position at the Budokan.   Desperado targeted the leg of Takahashi, setting him up for Numero Dos.   Takahashi tooks some crazy bumps.   Desperado locked in Numero Dos but Takahashi turned it into a Destroyer.   Wow!   Takahashi attempted to rip off Desperado’s mask which drew a gasp from the crowd.  He ripped the top of the mask off.   Both wrestlers were talking smack.   Desperado stares eye to eye with Takahashi and rips the rest of his mask off.   Big gasp from the crowd.   Both men throw punches.   It is a fight!   Wow, this match is awesome!   Desperado kicked out of a Time Bomb.   Takahashi hits Time Bomb II.   Takahashi pins El Desperado.   

Hiromu Takahashi wins the Best of Super Junior 27!

Both men were beat up.   The young lions came in to cover the face of El Desperado.   

This match was amazing.   Go out of your way to watch this.

Takahashi took the mic and gave respect to El Desperado and said they would meet again.   Takahashi was emotional as he addressed the crowd.   He challenged Taiji Ishimori.    But before that, he wants the winner of the Super J Cup before he challenges for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title.   Takahashi tells the fans and everyone watch to join him for more and more fun, as the blue confetti falls from the ceiling.

In the press conference area, Hiromu Takahashi honors El Desperado and tells him that he hopes to fight him forever.  He repeats the challenge to the winner of the Super J Cup.
