PREVIOUSLY ON NEW STUDIO WARS:

This is episode three of Northeast Wrestling's STUDIO WARS - A new weekly wrestling program that can be found on the Highspots Wrestling Network. Paul Crockett, Jon Roy & Matt Taven are your commentary team.

Match 1: Love, Doug vs Thrillride

Last week, Doug slapped Thrillride in the face at the commentary table after his win over Moshpit. Thrillride is "tanned like a burnt hot dog", says an excited Jon Roy. Doug blows Thrillride a kiss as an apology for last week. Thrillride puts it in his pocket. Doug throws a handful of flower petals into Thrillride's face, which....really does nothing and he eats a clothesline at the bell. Doug gets chopped and whipped around the ring. Thillride goes to work on the lower extremities of Love, Doug with a trip to the post, a couple of atomic drops and a headbutt. Doug catches Thrillride on the top rope and hits a cross body from the top. Whiff on a big splash and Thrillride with lariats and a neckbreaker. Big powerslam leads to a sitout spinebuster and that's it for Loverboy.

Winner: Thrillride

Love, Doug definitely bit off more than he should have, as Thrillride just took him to the woodshed. Just enough goofing here to raise Thrillride's ire and the rest was a big ol' squash.

We get a memorium video, highlighting appearances by Dusty Rhodes and Roddy Piper at previous NEW events.

We get another highlight music video, this one focused on "NEW 2015 in Review".

Match 2: "The Natural" Channing Thomas vs "The American Sumo" Mike Gamble

Both these guys are coming off of losses on episode 1. Thomas fell to Waves & Curls' Traevon Jordan. Gamble was in that killer main event with Wrecking Ball Legursky. A fearful Thomas is trying to slip away from the grasp of the VERY aggressive American Sumo. He gets a slap in on the big man before getting the taste smacked out of his mouth, a german-style urange and big splash for two. Two avalanche splashes hit but Thomas dodges the third and Gamble posts himself. The Natural working over the arm and shoulder and hitting a series of european uppercuts. Thomas gets too confident in the corner and posts himself as well. Gamble whipping Thomas from corner to corner. Big headbutt, running corner hit attack, belly to beelly suplex from the Sumo. Gamble takes too long taunting a Banzai drop, Thomas rolls out, goes for a crossbdy but Gamble catches him. Big Samoan Drop. 1, 2, 3.

Winner: Mike Gamble

Solid contest. I love the aggression the American Sumo has displayed in his two outings on Studio Wars. Channing Thomas tried to play keepaway and but he got caught.

Match 3: MDM vs Elia "The Great" Markopoulos

MDM is bringing a crutch with him for his match against Elia. MDM attacks before the bell, much to the confusion of the commentary table who comment this isn't the Matt Magnum they remember. He's much more ruthless. MDM with strikes and stomps out the gate but Elia hits a powerslam. MDM sent to the outside but he dodges Elia's dive. Snap suplex from MDM for two. Short arm clothesline and dropping knees, northern lights suplex with a bridge for a near fall. Elia fires back with a dropkick and a back elbow for two. Markopoulos tries for a TKO but MDM reverses into a back breaker and pin attempt. MDM up top for a flying headbutt, Elia rolls out of thee way and hits a spear for the pin!

Winner: Elia Markopoulos

There was plenty to like here in the match itself. Markopoulos getting the win after a mostly one-side beating at the hands of an aggressive and ruthless MDM? All good stuff. But I still don't understand why he brought that crutch to the ring and more importantly, why it didn't play a role in the contest at all.

We have a backstage interview with NEW Live champion Christian Casanova. He says no one in NEW is on his level. Big Bacon Brad Hollister immediately shows up to dispute this. "I don't see YOU with a title" says the champ. "Watch how it's done, kid" says Bacon as he heads to the ring.

Match 4: Big Bacon Brad Hollister vs Swilly O'Brien

Like last time, Hollister's opponent did not get an on-camera entrance. He dead. Hollister charges. Lariat. German. German. German. Powerbomb. Pin.

Winner: Brad Hollister

Big Bacon was focused on destruction here. He wants a shot at Casanova badly. The only reason this match took 60 seconds was poor Swilly couldn't get to his feet to eat that powerbomb and needed to be slapped awake. "Top Talent???" yells Hollister in hopes Casnova is paying attention. More to come there, for sure.

Match 5: Gio Galvano vs Wrecking Ball Legursky

Galvano is making his NEW debut and, while he did get an on-camera entrance, I worry for his chances here. Legursky slams him to the mat right off the tie up. Galvano back up and throws a couple of leg kicks to throw the big man off. Doesn't last, Wrecking Ball with a gorilla press. Gio slips a second one and goes back to the leg. Galvano creates distance and that was a mistake. Big shoulder block from Wrecking Ball and he goes to work with chops and drops. Gio dodges a sitout senton and hits a STIFF penalty kick. More stomps and kicks and he finally takes Legursky down. Springboard legdrop but only a one count. A kick to the face wakes up the Wrecking Ball, avalanche splash and a pair of tosses. Legursky with a huge lariat but Gio kicks out! Wrecking Ball to the second rope, misses a splash. Gio with a headbutt and pele kick! Running forearms! Bulldog off the top! Two count! Gio misses a boot, Wrecking Ball with a one-arm slam and it's over!

Winner: Wrecking Ball Legursky

THIS WAS GOOD SH*T. I don't think anyone expected what we saw from Gio Galvano tonight. He may have been way overpowered against the Wrecking Ball but he clearly brought a PLAN to the fight and it almost worked out for him. I expect to see more of Galvano in the weeks to come but damn, Wrecking Ball was in another show stealer. :)

Main Event: The Graysons (Tommy & JP Grayson w/ Jared Silberkleit) vs RJ Rude & Traevon Jordan (w/ Jaylen Brandyn)

Our main event has been building for the last couple of weeks. The newly heelish Graysons (Gee thanks, Jared. You're the best.) attacked NEW tag champ Rude last week and Jordan offered to be his partner this week, as long as Wave & Curls gets the next shot at the NEW tag belts. The Graysons attack as their opponents slide into the ring but a pair of boots shut that down quick. Jordan uses Rude as a battering ram and slams him into Tommy. They wanna wrap this up but Jared Silberkleit hits the apron to let JP break up the finish. Rude gets hits with a tandem sideslam elbow drop for two. RJ reverses a double suplex into neckbreaker on both Graysons. Jordan with the hot tag and taking apart both guys. Jordan with a leg lariat into JP, causing a ddt to tommy. nice combo! RJ with a blind tag and we have a dissention in the team. While RJ and Jordan talk it out, JP rolls up RJ with a handful of tights and steals the win.

Winners: The Graysons

Solid tag match that was going well until the Graysons stole it out of the blue. Seemed really quick for a main event but again, this is more for story than action (especially after that last match). Jordan and RJ still arguing in the ring as Silberkleit brags his boys to the back. Jaylen tries to calm the argument down but gets shoved to the mat. RJ Rude heads to the back as Jordan gets eveen more heated at the tag champ. Do Waves & Curls get their championship match? Did the Graysons jump to the head of the line?

And that's it! About a solid hour of action this week. Galvano/Legursky was the clear match of the show but everything was fun to watch. Can't wait to see Big Bacon get his shot at Casanova.

Next week's lineup: Richard Holliday vs Thrillride, Christopher Battle, Gio Galvano in a triple threat, Mandy Leon vs Deonna Purrazo (Throwback match) and a 6-man tag team main event. Until then!
