BRODY KING VS. DALTON CASTLE & MORE: RING OF HONOR TV REPORT

Quinn McKay welcomes us to this weeks show and congratulates our new ROH Pure Champion Jonathan Gresham.  We see the closing moments of his victory over Tracey Williams from last week's episode.  The champion gives us some post match thoughts highlighting his responsibility to Ring of Honor.  He puts ROH World Champion Rush on notice that the Pure Championship is on par if not greater than the ROH World Title.  Williams and Lethal stand behind Gresham as he speaks.  

Quinn informs us that Pure matches will be a regular staple of ROH.  We get pre match comments from Dak Draper and Brian Johnson.

Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman have the call of tonight's action.

Pure Rules match: Brian Johnson vs. Dak Draper

Code of Honor adhered to.  Closed fist punch immediately by Johnson for his warning.  Johnson with shoulderblocks into the corner.  2 count by Johnson after a second rope forearm.  Take down by Draper, Johnson uses the trunks to send Johnson to the outside and hits a tope suicida.  Johnson rolls him back in the ring and hits a clothesline off top. 2 count following another clothesline.  Draper with a go behind, Johnson uses his first rope break.  Draper with a punch and he gets his warning.  High cross body, both men sail over the top rope, they both make it back in.  Draper with a powerslam for 2 after missing some elbow attempts.  Three shoulderblocks by Draper for 2 as we go to commercial.  

Johnson escapes a shoulder breaker but can't grab a double underhook.  Gut wrench Doctor Bomb for 2 by Draper.  Another pin attempt by Draper and Johnson grabs the rope for his second break.  Draper misses a running boot.  Johnson with an Ace Crusher for 2.  Shoudler block and a 3/4 nelson for 2.  The two exchange rollups a pin attempts.  Draper bridges out, Johnson nails a clothesline and a splash.  His pin attempt is broken when the ref catches Johnson using the ropes for leverage.  That counts as Johnson's third rope break.

Ten minutes have elapsed.

Johnson with a spinning neckbreaker, Draper uses his first rope break.  Johnson goes for a closed fist punch but stops himself.  Draper uses the distraction to nail the Magnum KO for the pin.

WINNER: Dak Draper

We get pre match comments from Brody King and Dalton Castle.  King tells us about his career as a hardcore metal singer.  He talks about no longer being in the ranks of a faction at all.  No reference to Marty Scurll is made.  Castle reminds us that there's a lot more to him than how he looks and acts.  He reminds us that he's a former world champion.  Speed will be the key to beating King tonight.  

Dalton Castle vs. Brody King

Code of honor adhered to.  We lockup, Castle goes for a single leg but King effectively blocks it.  Another lockup and King with a kick to the midsection.  Castle managers to get a takedown and drives the knee into Kings back.  Bodyscissors by Castle into a running knee strike.  Front facelock by Castle, King drives him into the corner.  Boot to the face by Castle.  Castle re applies the facelock but King throws him up and over.  Castle answers with running knees, King counters with a cross body.  Chops by King into forearms in the corner.  Castle gets rammed into the corner, he fires back but King drives him down with forearms.  Bodyslam and a senton my King for 2 as we go to commercial.

Cover by King for 2 as we return.  Castle ducks aclothesline and hits a Deadlift German.  King counters with a piledriver for 2.  King with palmstrikes.  They trade forearms, Castle goes down.  Castle tries a sleeper but gets thrown from the ring.  Castle with a desperation hurancanrana but King sends him into the post and over the rail.  Back in the ring, King mounts the ropes but Castle takes his leg out.  Another running knee by Castle into a forward sling blade.  Elbows by Castle.  Brody with a side slam for 2.  Snap german and a lariat into a power bomb by King for the pin.

WINNER: Brody King
