NJPW STRONG REPORT

We are in Los Angeles, California and your announcers are Shigeki Kiyono, Hirooki Goto, and Katsuyori Shibata (in Japanese) or Kevin Kelly and Alex Koslov (in English).

Match Number One: Jordan Clearwater versus Fred Rosser

They lock up and Rosser backs Clearwater into the corner and then takes Clearwater down with a side head lock. Rosser with a wrist lock and Clearwater with a reversal. Rosser with a side head lock take down. Rosser with a knee drop and a front face lock into a side head lock. Clearwater with a snap mare. Rosser catches Clearwater on a leap frog and hits a power slam followed by a seated splash for a near fall.

Rosser with another seated splash followed by kicks. Rosser with punches and a slam and seated splash for a near fall. Rosser with a kick and he sends Clearwater to the apron and Rosser follows. Clearwater with punches and a neck breaker on the apron. Clearwater kicks Rosser and punches him. Rosser with a kick and punches but Clearwater with a back elbow and he tries to slam Rosser but Fred escapes and hits a series of clotheslines but Jordan stays on his feet.

Clearwater with a knee but Rosser with a double knee gutbuster and sliding boot to the temple for the three count.

Winner: Fred Rosser

After the match, Rosser says what he loves about New Japan is that he can say very little or a lot. He isn’t given a script two hours before showtime and told to memorize it. He says he is not potential, New Japan is looking for talent. Don’t count him out. He is excited for the opportunities to come his way. The best is yet to come.

Match Number Two: Danny Limelight versus Chase Owens

They lock up and Owens with a clean break. Limelight with a wrist lock and Owens with a take down but Limelight holds on to the wrist lock. Owens with a snap mare but Limelight holds on to the wrist lock. Owens sends Limelight to the mat and misses an elbow drop. Limelight with a side head lock and he holds on when Owens tries to send him off the ropes. Limelight with a drop kick and running forearm into the corner. Owens sends Limelight to the apron.

Limelight goes up top and hits a head scissors. Limelight with a flatliner and Owens goes to the floor. Limelight with a Fosbury Flop onto Owens. Owens uses the referee as a shield and then he misses a shoulder from the apron but does not miss a knee. Owens pulls Limelight to the floor and sends Limelight into the apron. They return to the ring and Owens kicks Limelight and hits a back breaker for a near fall.

Limelight with punches but Owens with a forearm to the back. Owens with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Owens with a waist lock and knee to the back. Owens with kicks and he stomps on the hand before choking Limelight in the ropes. Owens with a hard Irish whip. Limelight with chops. Owens runs into a boot and then Limelight with a springboard Meteora. Limelight with a half and half suplex followed by kicks to the chest. Limelight with a back heel kick and moonsault for a near fall.

Limelight misses a clothesline in the corner and Owens with a back breaker. Owens with a short arm clothesline for a near fall. Owens sets for the package piledriver but Limelight blocks it. Owens and Limelight exchange forearms. Limelight with a kick to the shin and a round kick for a near fall. Limelight goes to the apron and misses a double jump move when Owens moves. Limelight with a round kick and Owens with a knee and hehits the package piledriver for the three count.

Winner: Chase Owens

After the match, Owens says he is back in the win column. He was number 3 in 2019 in pinfall victories. Only behind Shingo and Naito. People can make their jokes. When I decide to come back to Japan, they are on notice.

We go to cleaning and sanitizing break.

Match Number Three: JR Kratos and Rust Taylor versus Jeff Cobb and Rocky Romero

Taylor and Romero start things off. They lock up and Taylor with a clean break. They lock up and Romero with a clean break. They lock up again and Taylor with a wrist lock and he takes Romero to the mat. Romero with a drop toe hold but Taylor returns to the arm. Romero gets to the ropes and Taylor releases the hold. Taylor with a wrist lock and take down. Taylor sends Romero to the mat with an arm wringer. Taylor with a wrist lock but Romero escapes a suplex attempt and connects with forearms and European uppercuts.

Romero with knees and rana. Romero with a punch and Cobb tags in. Cobb with a slam and Cobb slams Romero onto Taylor. Romero tries to slam Cobb but he cannot get him up. They see Taylor crawling towards his corner so they stop him momentarily but Kratos is tagged in.

They lock up and go to a stalemate. They lock up again with the same result. Cobb with a drop kick and Kratos with a shoulder tackle. Kratos punches Cobb and Irish whips him and misses a clothesline. Cobb with punches and chops. Cobb tries to float over on an Irish whip and Kratos catches him. Kratos with punches and kicks. Taylor with a back drop driver to Romero on the apron. Kratos sends Cobb into the middle rope and he gets a near fall.

Taylor tags in and he kicks Cobb and chops him. Cobb blocks an Irish whip and Irish whips Taylor but Taylor gets an inside cradle for a near fall. Taylor with elbows to the ribs and Romero kicks Taylor. Kratos tags in and he hits Cobb with a forearm. Cobb with forearms but Kratos with a punch and kicks. Kratos sends Cobb into the turnbuckles. Kratos with an Irish whip and clothesline in the corner. Kratos with a splash into the corner followed by a clothesline. Kratos with a suplex for a near fall. Taylor tags in and he applies a wrist lock and punches Cobb before returning to the wrist lock. Romero hits Taylor in the back. Taylor with European uppercuts and forearms. Cobb with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex and Romero tags in. Romero with forearms and kicks to Taylor followed by an Irish whip and infinity clotheslines. Taylor sends Romero into the turnbuckles and hits a European uppercut. Taylor with an arm breaker. Romero with a forearm but he mises a jumping knee. Both men with clotheslines at the same time and both men go down.

Kratos tags in and he knocks Cobb off the apron. Kratos with a suplex for a near fall. Cobb kicks Kratos and Taylor with a kick to Cobb. Cobb with a rolling side slam. Romero with knees to Kratos and Kratos blocks Sliced Bread and hits a Michinoku Driver followed by a wheelbarrow suplex for the three count.

Winners: JR Kratos and Rust Taylor

After the match, Taylor and Kratos attack Cobb and Romero.

Cobb says JR Kratos, I know that name. I once knew a guy named Kratos who I traveled down the road with. Now you come to New Japan. This isn’t the garage any more. This is New Japan. It is not the first time someone has come into my yard to claim what isn’t theirs yet. I remember you as a God of War. I hope you are ready for war.
