IWTV THE MASKED WRESTLER EPISODE FOUR REPORT

IWTV “The Masked Wrestler: Episode 4”11/4/20

Last week, Wyldkat (identity as yet unknown) defeated Marmalade (revealed as Lady Frost) in the 3rd episode of this tournament of mystery - 

Tonight, two more mysterious competitors enter the ring in the final match of the 1st round of this single elimination tournament to determine the next challenger for WARHORSE’s IWTV Championship. Kris Statlander, Billy Dixon and Mr. Brickster are your ringside...judges? Do they get points for guessing correctly? I’m STILL COMPLETELY unsure how this part works. Is there scoring? Did Billy Dixon win a prize for last week’s correct guess? Denver Colorado and Dylan Hales are your match commentators. Larry Legend is your announcer. 

So who is fighting this week? Blueskie wants a shot to prove their are one of the best underrated workers from their area. They might be from Ohio...or Philly and maybe trained by a former NXT champion. Stokely Hathaway Jr says they’ve been a wrestler for a decade and no one knows who they are. Do they normally work under a mask? They like animals, they are Stokely Hathaway and they are a pretty good professional wrestler....OH OK. Everyone is always so confident that the mystery of their identity will throw their opponent off. Someone’s gotta lose though.

Match: Blueskie (blue mask) vs Stokely Hathaway Jr (yellow mask)

Feel out process to kick this off, goes into a rapid Lutha style sequence. Lil Stoke sent to the outside and Blueskie with a tope to the outside. Blueskie trying for a springboard back in but Lil Stoke with a head kick. Knee from Stoke and rolls Blueskie back in for a two count. Blueskie tries a pele kick but Stoke catches it, hits a meteora for two. Blueskie gets the knees up to block a senton. Pump kick, head kick, springboard clothelines and Blueskie gets a two count. Stoke trying to get something going on the top, Blueskie with a running rana off the top and frog splash for a close two. Stoke with an up and over and rolls through into a crucifix pin for the three count.

WInner: Stokely Hathaway Jr

For me, this was probably the most fun match of the show so far. Felt like an old Chikara contest. I really liked this one as a match, in addition to trying to guess the worker. But WHO do the judges think Blueskie is? Brickster thinks it’s Michael from the Lost Boys. Of course that’s incorrect. Billy Dixon says....Lio Rush. That is also incorrect. What does the alien think? Statlander thinks back to her AIW roots and guesses....Tre’ Lamar. DING DING DING!

Tre’ says wrestling in the mask was difficult for him but they are professionals and his opponent won. He does think his opponent was Stokely Hathaway. I think he’s wrong. Next week kicks off the semi finals! Until then!
