Kid currently holds the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship and appears set to make an interpromotional title defense in MLW. A post on MLW’s website reads: “Konnan, the co-founder of AAA, is in talks with MLW CEO Court Bauer about possibly having MLW host AAA title defenses as part of the restart.”
In his most recent MLW appearance, Kid unsuccessfully challenged Alexander Hammerstone for the MLW National Openweight Championship. He also unsuccessfully challenged Myron Reed for the MLW World Middleweight Championship earlier this year.
Despite coming up short against Reed earlier this year, MLW has suggested a potential unification of the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship and MLW World Middleweight Championship.
From the same post on MLW’s website as cited earlier, the promotion teases: “Arguably the Mexican organization’s top luchador, Laredo Kid’s goals for The Restart include unifying the MLW World Middleweight belt with his AAA World Cruiserweight title.”
An infographic posted on Twitter lists unifying both championships and defending the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship in MLW as Kid’s possible next move.

Kid defeated Sammy Guevara to win the AAA World Cruiserweight Championship last February. He has defeated against Flamita, Parka Negra and Mocho Cota Jr. in a four-way, El Hijo del Vikingo, Drago and Octogon Jr. to make four successful defenses.
Kid has bolstered his international profile over the past 18 months competing in MLW, Impact Wrestling and All Elite Wrestling. He teamed with the Lucha Brothers against Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks at AEW Fyter Fest last June.
MLW Fusion will return on Wednesday, November 18. It will air on DAZN, YouTube, fubo Sports Network, beIN SPORTS and more.
