MASADA is the only prior winner in this year’s tournament. Other prior winners include Matt Tremont, Masashi Takeda and Nick Gage.
In the first two iterations of the tournament in 2015 and 2017, it was a eight-man single-elimination tournament with three rounds (first round, semifinals and final).
In 2018, the tournament shifted to five first round matches and a five-way tournament final. However, Jimmy Lloyd was medically unable to compete after his first round match and the final was changed to a four-way.
In last year’s tournament, there were four three-way first round matches and a four-way final.
Due to travel restrictions stemming from the current COVID-19 global pandemic, international stars such as Daisuke Masaoka, Isami Kodaka and Yuko Miyamoto are unable to compete in the tournament like in years past.
The show will take place on November 7 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. It will air live on FITE TV at 1pm EST.
