New Japan Pro Wrestling

New Japan Pro Wrestling will begin its Road to Power Struggle tour in Korakuen Hall tomorrow.

The full card is:

• Yota Tsuji vs. Yuya Uemura
• Gabriel Kidd and Kazuchika Okada vs. Great-O-Khan and Will Ospsreay
• BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi and Shingo Takagi vs. El Desperado, Minoru Suzuki and Yoshinobu Kanemaru
• Gedo, Jay White and KENTA vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi and Tomoaki Honma
• Dick Togo and EVIL vs. SANADA and Tetsuya Naito
• NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships: Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI vs. DOUKI, Taichi and Zack Sabre Jr.

The main event will be Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI’s second defense of the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Championships.

English colour commentator Chris Charlton has also speculated about SANADA’s future.

Charlton said in a series of tweets: “SANADA post G1 is a heck of a thing to keep track of. Naito likened EVIL’s betrayal to his own position in 2015, but I think SANADA might be a more apt comparison. How much of the super cool cold skull is him and how much is who he thinks he should be?

“Naito would have spent almost all of his energy on Ibushi’s bad hamstring at the G1 final, but SANADA didn’t. Instead he created his own opening, and clearly had Ibushi under control, knocking him for a loop with his strikes.

“But a Skull end ref stoppage wouldn’t be the way Cold Skull wins a G1. So spirit of Muto 95, he goes up instead after Ibushi seems to be out cold, and eats it on the moonsault. Ibushi questioning whether SANADA is still really in the right place was telling post match.

“Now the discourse over SANADA seems to be whether he can really be *the* guy instead of a very popular support player. Stardust Genius Naito had the exact same conversations around him between 2012 and 2014.”

SANADA will team with Tetsuya Naito against Dick Togo and EVIL at tomorrow’s show.

New Japan and All Japan Pro Wrestling will hold another Giant Baba memorial show on February 4 next year in Korakuen Hall.

The show will be produced by All Japan referee Kyohei Wada and All Japan ring announcer Fumihito Kihara.

The most recent memorial show was in Ry?goku Kokugikan in November 2019. It was headlined by Daisuke Sekimoto and Kento Miyahara versus Hiroshi Tanahashi and Yoshitatsu.
