INJURY CHANGES BIG ZERO1 TITLE BOUT, CHRIS BROOKES TO DEFEND DDT UNIVERSAL TITLE, G1 CLIMAX, BIG JAPAN DEATH EDGE IN OSAKA & MORE FROM JAPAN

Pro Wrestling ZERO1 has announced Yasu Kubota will challenge Hayato Tamura for the World Heavyweight Championship on November 3.

Tamura revealed he initially wanted to face Takafumi at the show after he was shockingly defeated by Takafumi on the first night of the Fire Festival.

However, Takafumi is out of action with a shoulder injury and has been forced to forfeit his remaining Fire Festival matches.

Instead, Tamura nominated Kubota as his next challenger.

Kubota recently made headlines after he confronted a man taking photos under a lady’s skirt at a train station. Yahoo published an article about the incident, which can be read here.

The match on November 3 will be Tamura’s second defense of the World Heavyweight Championship.

The Fire Festival tournament will continue in Kumamoto tomorrow. The full card is:

• Chris Vice vs. Hide Kubota
• Aja Kong and Jaguar Yokota vs. Kyoko Inoue and Haruka Umesaki
• El Lindaman and SUGI vs. Masato Tanaka and Shoki Kitamura
• Shinjiro Otani and Takumi Baba vs. Towa Iwasaki and Tsugutaka Sato
• A block: Yoshikazu Yokoyama vs. Yuji Hino
• A block: Hartley Jackson vs. Quiet Storm

New Japan Pro Wrestling

New Japan Pro Wrestling’s G1 Climax tournament will continue with its thirteenth show tomorrow in Edion Arena Osaka.

Only a limited number of wresters will compete on each G1 Climax show for precautionary reasons. As such, A block competitors will not compete on the undercard of shows featuring B block tournament matches and vice versa.

Tomorrow’s show is exclusively A block wrestlers. Each tournament show will start with a singles match between two young lions (Gabriel Kidd, Yota Tsuji or Yuya Uemura) followed by five tournament matches.

The full card is:

• A block: Jeff Cobb vs. Tomohiro Ishii
• A block: Jay White vs. Yujiro Takahashi

DDT Pro-Wrestling

DDT Pro-Wrestling will air its ninth DDT TV SHOW! episode tomorrow.

• Kazusada Higuchi vs. Yukio Naya
• Akito and Shunma Katsumata vs. Jiro “Ikemen” Kuroshio and Konosuke Takeshita
• HARASHIMA, Kazuki Hirata and Yuki Ueno vs. Hideki Okatani, Jun Akiyama and Makoto Oishi

The main event will be Brookes’ third defense of the DDT Universal Championship.
