10/7 NEW JAPAN G1 CLIMAX 30 A BLOCK RESULTS

Opening Match:  

1.  Yota Tsuji vs. Gabriel Kidd

Tsuji wins with a Boston Crab submission.  Jyushin Thunder Liger is doing commentary at ringside.  Kidd leaves the ring and bows to Liger.  Liger tells him "good match!"

A Block Tournament Matches:

2.  Tomohiro Ishii vs. Yujiro Takahashi

Takahashi attacks Ishii as he enters the ring. Fight goes to the floor.  Takahashi with a reverse DDT.  Back in the ring, Takahashi with a mafia kick to Ishii in the corner and a follow up powerslam.  Two count.  Ishii still has his shirt on.  Ishii with two headbutts and Takahashi drops him with an elbow. Ishii is clutching his neck.  Takahashi with a dropkick.  Two count.  Takahashi with another kick to the head and tries for a Fisherman Buster.  Ishii reverses into a suplex.   Takahashi rakes the eyes.  Ishii comes back with a headbutt.  Ishii goes for a move but Takahashi bites his fingers.  Takahashi stuns Ishii with a Hot Shot on the top rope.  Takahashi lays in elbows.  Ishii is absorbing them all.   Ishii plants Takahashi with a back suplex.  Takahashi drops Ishii with a Fisherman Buster.  Ishii immediately writhes in pain holding his arm and neck.  Referee checks on him.  Ishii tells him he is fine. Takahashi charges at Ishii in the corner.  Takahashi eats a boot.  Ishii hits a German Suplex.  Takahashi lands hard in the turnbuckle.  Superplex by Ishii.  Two count.  Takahashi throws a lariat.  Ishii counters with one of his own.  Spinebuster by Takahashi, with a lariat to follow.   Takahashi with an Olympic Slam for a two count.  Takahashi with Miami Shine for a two count.  Ishii hits another German suplex on Takahashi.  Both men are slow to get up.   Ishii hits a jumping high kick and a lariat for a two count.  Both men try to suplex each other.  Takahashi wins that battle.  Ishii with a lariat and goes for a brainbuster.  Takahashi reverses into a small package.  Two count.  Takahashi goes for Pimp Juice.  Ishii blocks it and hits a headbutt and a sliding lariat.  Two count.  Ishii hits a brainbuster and gets the pinfall win.

Good match!  

3.  Kazuchika Okada vs. Jeff Cobb

Cobb used his power to take control of the match early.   He threw Okada with Belly-to-Belly Suplex and dropped him with lariats.  Okada would use his speed to strike and move.  Cobb caught Okada in a gutwrench.  He twisted him from his right to his left and back to his right, never dropping him.  He lifted Okada into a powerbomb position.  Okada threw punches.  Cobb tossed Okada in the air, caught him in a cradle position and spun him with a twisting back suplex.  Wow!  Cobb with a standing moonsault.   Two count.  Okada hit a dropkick.  He hit a tombstone on Cobb and applied the Money Clip.  Cobb powered out.  Okada missed a Rainmaker and Cobb hit his own dropkick.  Cobb made the Rainmaker pose, and attempted a Tour of the Islands.  Okada wiggled out and missed a lariat.  Cobb hits a German Suplex.   Small package by Okada for a two count.   Boot by Okada.  Super Kick by Cobb.  Okada hits a lariat with no effect.  Cobb throws a lariat which is blocked.  Okada backdrops Cobb, kneels down and grabbing Cobb's ankles.   Okada pins Cobb.  

Another good match!   Okada ties for the lead in A Block with 8 points.  

4.  Will Ospreay vs. Minoru Suzuki

They start off throwing elbows.  Suzuki rolls to the floor.  Ospreay hits a plancha over the top rope.  Ospreay springboards off the guardrails for an elbow but Suzuki catches him in an arm submission.  Referee comes to the floor to break it up.  Suzuki grabs a chair.  Referee takes it away.  Suzuki attacks Ospreay's right arm on the guardrail.  He wraps Ospreay's arm around the ringpost and stretches him.  Back in the ring, Suzuki hits Ospreay with a punt kick and attacks his injured arm.   Ospreay throws a strike but Suzuki throws chops and elbows.  Suzuki locks Ospreay in an Octopus Lock, but Ospreay gets to the ropes.  Ospreay comes off the ropes with flipping kick.  Ospreay hits a reverse atomic drop, and a standing shooting star press for a two count.  Ospreay comes off the ropes again, but Suzuki catches him with another arm submission.   Ospreay gets to the ropes.  Suzuki hits a running mafia kick, snapmare, and a running punt kick.  Ospreay blocks the kick with his injured arm and winces in pain.  Suzuki continues his attack on his arm.   Ospreay fights back but his strikes seem ineffective.  Suzuki drills him with wicked elbows to his face.  Ospreay hits Pip Pip Cheerio.  Ospreay misses a 450 Splash.  They trade kicks.  Ospreay throws left elbows to Suzuki's head.  Suzuki counters with elbows to Ospreay's head.  Ospreay blocks Suzuki's punt kick.  Ospreay hits an elbow that staggers Suzuki.  Suzuki applies a sleeper.  Ospreay counters with a suplex.   Ospreay misses a Hidden Blade.  Suzuki locks in a sleeper.  Suzuki goes for a Gotch Piledriver, but Ospreay hits him with a jumping high kick.  Ospreay hits Stormbreaker.  Ospreay pins Suzuki and earns 2 more points.

Great match!   Ospreay was awesome.   Suzuki looked like a monster.  

5.  Taichi vs. Jay White, with Gedo

Both men were trying to outsmart each other at the start.  They brawl on the outside, tossing each other into the guardrails.  Back in the ring, White hits a neckbreaker and gets a two count.  White targets the back of Taichi with knees to the back.   Taichi rakes White's eyes and hits a jumping high kick to the head.  Taichi misses another high kick and White chop blocks his exposed leg.  White with a DDT.   White follows up with running European Uppercut and a Bladebuster.   Two count.    Taichi hits an Axe Bomber to the back of White's head who stumbles into the ropes.  White ducks a spinning kick, but Taichi connects with another Axe Bomber.  White grounds him with leg whip.  Taichi missing another high kick.  White hits a dead lift German Suplex.  Taichi goes for another Axe Bomber which White ducks and turns into a uranage.  Taichi reverses a Bladerunner into a back suplex.  They start brawling with kicks and elbows.   Tachi knocks White with another jumping high kick.   Taichi points to Gedo and screams insults at him.   Taichi grabs White and rolls him into the Gedo Clutch.  Gedo runs into the ring to distract Red Shoes.  White pushes Taichi into Red Shoes, knocking him down.  Gedo tries to kick Taichi but Taichi kicks him in the privates and he rolls out of the ring.  White tries to low blow Taichi.  Taichi blocks it and kicks White in privates.  Taichi rolls him into another Gedo Clutch.   Two count.   Taichi nails White with a Last Ride but only a two count.  Taichi rocks White with an elbow and goes for a super kick.  White hits a Bladerunner.   Jay White pins Taichi.

Another awesome match.   White continues to taunt Taichi after the match with his own microphone.  Taichi grabs a chair and attempts to go after him.  The young lions break it up before anything happens.

6.  Kota Ibushi vs. Shingo Takagi

This match starts fast, both men attempting to hit a big move.  Takagi takes a walk outside the ring.   Ibushi stomps on him as he enters the ring.  Ibushi heads to the top rope.  Takagi catches him off the top, and hits a stun gun on the top rope.  A lariat sends Ibushi to the floor.  Takagi beats on Ibushi on the floor and drops him with a DDT.   Back in the ring, Takagi stomps on Ibushi.  He flattens Ibushi with an elbow and a big suplex.   Takagi locks on a chinlock.  Ibushi breaks it in the ropes.  Ibushi "hulks" up and starts throwing elbows with Takagi.  Ibushi throws a kick and Takagi turns it into a leg whip.    Ibushi flips Takagi with a Frankensteiner.  Ibushi hits a kick combination which sends Takagi to the floor.    Ibushi hits Takagi with a Plancha.  Back in the ring, they start throwing elbows and kicks.  Takagi is blocking Ibushi's kicks with his arms.  Takagi drops Ibushi with a lariat.   Takagi hits a Noshigami for a two count. Ibushi ducks a sliding lariat.  They both hit each other with lariats.  Ibushi gets a snap back suplex on his neck.  

Ibushi throws Takagi with a half nelson suplex.  They start brawling, exchanging kicks, chops and elbows.  Takagi throws a bunch of elbows.  Takagi goes for a release German suplex.  Ibushi lands on his feet and kicks Takagi right in the left ear.   OUCH!   Ibushi with a Golden Star Power Bomb for a two count.  Takagi with a Death Valley Driver.  Ibushi hits a jumping knee.  Takagi counters with headbutts.  Ibushi with chops to the chest.  Takagi with Made in Japan.   Two count.  Takagi with three Pumping Bombers.  Ibushi kicks out at two.  Takagi attempts Last of the Dragon, but Ibushi fights his way out of the hold.  Takagi hits two wicked lariats.  Ibushi ducks a lariat and hits one of his own.  He hits a running knee for a two count.  Ibushi pulls down his knee pad.  He goes for Kamagoye.  Takagi blocks it, lifts up Ibushi and hits Last of the Dragon.   Shingo Takagi pins Kota Ibushi for 2 points!

Wow!  Awesome match!  Ibushi could have been alone with 10 points in A Block.  Shingo's win keeps it a 4-way tie at the top of A Block with 8 points.  Both wrestlers exchange words of respect in the ring.
