IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2020-10-06 22:00:00

Impact Wrestling opened with a look at everything that went down at Victory Road over the weekend.

Brian Myers vs. Tommy Dreamer

It was all Dreamer early on.  He nailed the Cactus clothesline over the top to the floor and slammed Myers' head into the ring steps.  Dreamer unloaded with right hands on the floor.  Myers fired back and tried to whip him into the ring apron outside but Dreamer stopped short and drilled him with an elbow.

Dreamer nailed a lariat on the floor but missed a punch and ended up hitting the ring post.  Dreamer was suplexed on the entrance ramp, nearly getting counted out.  Dreamer rolled back in at the last moment and was besieged upon by Myers, who worked him over with punches on the mat.

Myers nailed a back suplex for a two count.  Myers locked in a rear chinlock but Dreamer fired back.  He went to rebound off the ropes but was tripped by Myers.  Myers nailed a big clothesline in the corner and was pulled out by his legs from the corner, slammed down.  Dreamer looked to be in legitimate pain from the bump.

Myers cinched in an armbar but was caught by Dreamer with a sunset flip.  Myers stomped away at Dreamer, then drilled him with a series of elbowdrops. Dreamer fired back with a series of right hands and an elbow.  Dreamer nailed the RKO and covered Myers for a two count.  Myers kicked Dreamer and slammed him, scoring another two count.

Myers ascended to the top but missed an elbowdrop.  Dreamer caught him with a DDT for a two count.  Dreamer tried to come off the ropes with an elbow but missed.  Myers nailed the Implant DDT but Dreamer kicked up at the last second, driving Myers nuts.

Myers went to the floor and pulled a kendo stick out from under the ring.  Dreamer ducked a shot and used a Russian Legsweep with it.  How was that not a DQ?  Dreamer to nail him but Myers begged off.  Dreamer stopped but Myers grabbed the stick and attacked Dreamer with it, caning the hell out of him.

Your winner by DQ, Brian Myers!

Myers kept caning him until security and Scott D'Amore came to the ring to stop him.

Madison Rayne and Josh Mathews reacted to what they just saw and ran down the top matches for the 10/24 Bound for Glory PPV.

They discussed the issues between Moose and EC3.  We went to a video of a paranoid Moose worried and looking all around for something.

John E. Bravo told everyone the wedding was costing him a fortune and he needed them to put up some money to help him.  They all freaked over that until Fallah Bah said that as best man, it would be his job to find the money and said he knew where to get it.  The Deaners got into it with Crazzy Steve and Johnny Swinger.  Bravo said they can settle it in the ring but the wedding is in less than a month, so who's paying for the chocolate fondue fountain?

X-Division Champion Rohit Raju came to the ring and took the mic, ready for the Defeat Rohit Challenge.  He bragged that the Champion was here with another opportunity.  He said it is official that he is the more caring wrestler on the roster.  He went from the last resort to the first round draft pick.  Everyone wants to take the title and that's why he's giving everyone a chance.

Out came Willie Mack, who faced Raju at Victory Road.  Raju said he had a chance at Victory Road and that opportunity is now lost.  Raju demanded a challenger who has yet to answer the call.  Out came Jordynne Grace as Mack seemed flabergasted.  This made Willie look pretty bad.

X-Division Champion Rohit Raju vs. Jordynne Grace

Raju stalled early on, saying he was the champion so they were going to do things on his time.  Mack offered to hold onto the X-Division title and they got into a tug of war.  Grace rolled up Raju and nailed the Backlund Bridge, scoring the pin.

Your winner, Jordynne Grace!

Raju argued about something with the referee.  He went to the floor and informed the referee that this was a non-title bout.

Raju took the mic.  He told Grace she had a hard-fought win, but she didn't get the title.  He mockingly congratulated her but declared himself still the reigning and defending X-Division Champion.

Raju returned to the back, where Scott D'Amore said he's made the most of his opportunity as X-Division Champion.  Scott said he's giving out opportunities left and right.  So, he's going to keep giving them out.  At Bound for Glory, he'll defend the title in a Scramble match against Willie Mack, Trey Miguel, Jordynne Grace, TJP and Chris Bey.  Raju wasn't a happy camper.

Backstage, Fallah Bah challenged Hernandez to another arm wrestling match.  Bah "accidentally" knocked into him soaking Hernandez with a drink.  Hernandez wasn't happy and walked off to get himself cleaned up.

The Rascalz vs. XXXL

This is a rematch from a hell of a tag bout at Victory Road.

XXXL attacked The Rascalz as they hit the ring, tossing out Wentz and double-teaming Dez.  They grabbed his arms and legs, yanked, then flipped him up to slam him down as they went to commercial...

When they returned, Dez was worked over for a long time as Acey Romero and Larry D tagged in and out.  D locked in a side chinlock.  Dez tried to fight away but was kicked him down to the mat for a two count.  D ripped at Dez's neck.  Dez tried to fight back and nail several kicks and finally fought free, tagging Wentz.

Wentz fired away with a series of rapid-fire strikes and a running dropkick in the corner.  He took D down and leapt off D's back to nail Acey in the corner before locking in a sleeper.  D fought his way out.  The Rascalz battled back and Wentz nailed an assisted moonsault press for the pin.

Your winners, The Rascalz!

Backstage, Fallah Ban sneaked into a bathroom where Hernandez was showering, trying to find his giant wad of cash.  Successful, he slipped out of the room.

Jimmy Jacobs was with "Dr. Forman" (Ross Forman) asking him how Rich Swann would be at Bound for Glory.  He said Rich would be ready in 18 days.  Forman called over Swann to talk to Jacobs when Impact Champion Eric Young, dressed as a doctor, attacked Swann and began beating the surgically repaired ankle.  He left Swann screaming on the floor.

Gia Miller interviewed Impact Tag Team Champions The Motor City Machine Guns.  They talked about facing Madman Fulton and Ace Austin tonight.  Gallows and Anderson showed up, bragging about being undefeated.  Alex Shelley told them to shut up, because they are the champions and the best in the world.  Gallows and Anderson said they are going to make sure the titles are safe until they can win them at Bound for Glory, so consider them the Guns' guardian angels tonight.

Taya & Rosemary vs. Tasha Steelz & Kiera Hogan.

Kiera and Taya started with Taya grabbing him for a big spinebuster, wailing away with chops in the corner.  Taya whipped her into the corner and nailed a running elbow, then a hip attack.  Taya followed up with a Meteora.  She grabbed Kiera in a front facelock and brought her into the corner, where she and Rosemary worked her over.

Rosemary hit an Exploder on Hogan, sending her into her own corner, where she tagged Steelz in.  Rosemary nailed a big splash in the corner, then nailed another exploder, this time for a two count.   Steelz and Hogan took over, working over Rosemary.  Hogan choked Rosemary in the corner with her boot.  Rosemary charged but was hit with a drop toehold into the buckles.  Steelz tagged in and cleaned house with some great looking offense, showing some strong swagger in the process.  Steelz grabbed a standing side headlock and tagged in Hogan.

Hogan and Steelz continued to batter Rosemary, who popped up as Steelz charged.  Steelz freaked and retreated to the floor, where a waiting Hogan wiped out Rosemary with a clothesline.  Steelz showed they were just playing mind games.

Impact showed Havok and Neveah watching on a monitor in the back.

Taya and Hogan each tagged in.  Taya clotheslined Steelz, then attacked Hogan with a series of strikes.  Taya nailed a spinning Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count, then cinched in a curb stomp.  Taya locked in a submission but Steelz attacked.  They double-teamed Taya but she reversed a whip and sent them into each other.  She nailed a nasty looking back suplex on Steelz.  Hogan nailed several kicks but Rosemary tagged in and nailed a big exploder.    Taya was hit with a Codebreaker but Rosemary attacked Steelz and nailed a big slam for the pin.

Your winner, Rosemary and Taya!

Neveah and Havok watched from the back.

The Deaners vs. Johnny Swinger & Crazzy Steve.

Jake and Swinger started out.  Swinger was pinballed back and forth between Jake and Cody who punched him.

Swinger grabbed a front facelock on Deaner and worked him over in the corner.  He called for something but Steve openly tried to give him foreign objects for comedic effect.

Swinger took down Deaner in a chinlock and asked him what he was doing, that he was blowing the whole deal.  Swinger tried to get something out of his fanny pack but the referee saw it.  He then grabbed the monkey but Steve wouldn't allow him to use it.

Cody kicked and pinned Swinger after a DDT.

Your winners, The Deaners!

All shenanigans.

They showed highlights of Deonna Purrazzo vs. Susie from Victory Road.  They announced Susie has suffered a broken arm.

Gia Miller interviewed Kylie Rae.  She was very upset about Susie being hurt.  Kimber Lee showed up and mocked her, so Rae attacked her and beat her down with punches before realizing what she was doing and being very much beside herself walking off.

Heath sits down with Scott D'Amore.  Scott said Rhino was right and Scott was wrong.  He said Heath is the right mix and right fit for Impact.  They go back and forth putting each other over.  Scott said the hard part is putting things back down on paper.  Heath said he's got him beat and handed him a proposal.  Scott looked at it and said that negotiations are a give and take.  He rolled up his sleeves so they could get into it.  Scott said they are giving him a chance to be a star but not with what he's presenting.  Scott offered him a lesser deal, saying he's good but not an Olympic medalist good.  D'Amore blew off Heath.  This went on too long.

Rhino met with Heath backstage and cut a promo on him, saying when he was on Raw with McIntyre, he was offered a contract but Rhino told him the grass was greener on the other side.  Now, he has no contract and he has a family depending on him.  He blew off Rhino, telling him,. "Thanks Terry" and stormed off.

Somewhere, EC3 told Moose he's found the funeral of the century but he's got to detach himself from the TNA title.  He dropped it off a bridge.  He looked in the camera and said, "FREE MOOSE."

Backstage, a glum Ken Shamrock said Eddie Edwards didn't deserve what they did to him. Callihan excitedly talked up their social media numbers but Shamrock didn't care what they meant.  Callihan explained he heading back to the old Ken Shamrock and asked him who was next.  Shamrock grabbed him but a security guard was walking by, so Callihan sent Shamrock after him.  Ken beat down the pool, hapless guard.

Impact Tag Team Champions The Motor City Machine Guns vs. Ace Austin & Mad Man Fulton.

Chris Sabin and Austin started off, going back and forth, feeling out the other.  Sabin works over his arm until Austin drills him with a right hand a big dropkick.  Sabin responds with a dropkick of his own.  He worked over Austin's arm.  Sabin uses a forward roll.  The Guns double-team him as Shelley tags in.  The Guns continue to focus on Austin's arm.

The Guns control the ring with double-team moves, drilling Austin with stereo kicks.

Fulton finally garnered the tag and laid waste to Shelley, sending him hard into the buckles several times.  Shelley tried to fight his way out but was caught by Fulton.  Austin tagged in and came off the ropes with a legdrop while Fulton held Shelley aloft.

Austin used the trading card to slice Shelley's hand.  Fulton continued to maul Shelley. He and Austin tagged in and out.  Shelley broke free from Austin but Fulton grabbed him by the hair.  Shelley finally made the hot tag to Sabin, who cleaned house.  Sabin nailed a missile dropkick and a neckbreaker but Fulton broke up the pinfall.  Austin fired back with a kick to the back of the head and went for a tag but Sabin interjected, trying to cut him off.  Austin nailed a boot to the face.

Shelley and Fulton tagged in.  Fulton charged and Shelley dropped down, pulling the ropes.  Fulton went to the floor.  Austin cut Shelley with a boot to the face.  Fulton went for a move but was grabbed in a sleeper by Shelley.  Sabin cleaned house with a series of kicks and then slammed Fulton for a two count.  Austin tried to break it up but nailed his own partner.

The Guns nailed the Dream Sequence.   They went for a double suplex but Fulton reversed it.

The North came to the ring but the referee stopped them from entering and pulled a chair away from them.  Gallows and Anderson ran down and started brawling with The North.  Shelley and Sabin double superkicked Fulton.  Sabin nailed a splash off the top and scored the pin.

Your winners, The Motor City Machine Guns!
