WWE has revived the old World Championship Wrestling Halloween Havoc PPV concept for the NXT brand, presenting Halloween Havoc as a special edition of NXT TV on Wednesday 10/28, hosted by NXT star Shotzi Blackheart.
Created in 1989, Halloween Havoc was a traditional Halloween-themed PPV event that featured WCW talents in special gimmick matches specific for the Halloween season, personalities in costumes, a PPV cold open that saw Tony Schiavone welcome trick or treaters before turning into a monster seeking to eat them, the "Spin the Wheel, Make the Deal" challenge that saw an allegedly random stipulation bout chosen, and even a "Chamber of Horrors" bout that saw Abdullah the Butcher go to the Electric Chair and other assorted hijinks.
There were 12 editions of the event with the final WCW Havoc PPV taking place in October 2000. WWE filed a trademark on the former WCW property in September 2018.
