NJPW STRONG REPORT: THE FINALS ARE SET

We are in Los Angeles, California and your announcers are Shigeki Kiyono, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Katsuyori Shibata (in Japanese) or Kevin Kelly and Alex Koslov (in English).

Match Number One: Clark Connors versus Logan Riegel in a Semi-Final Match in the Lion’s Break Tournament

They lock up and Connors with a wrist lock and take down. Riegel with a side head lock and Connors escapes. Riegel with a waist lock take down into a front face lock. Connors with a wrist lock. Connors goes for a cross arm breaker. Riegel is able to escape and he works on the legs and traps the arms. Connors gets a near fall. They lock up and Connors backs Riegel into the ropes and chops Riegel. Riegel with chops and a forearm to Connors.

Connors with a POUNCE to Riegel. Connors with kicks to Riegel. Connors goes for a shoulder in the corner but Riegel gets his knee up. Connors with chops. Connors with more shoulders in the corner. Connors with a snap mare and chop to the back for a near fall. Connors with an arm bar and chin lock into a rear chin lock.

Connors gets a near fall and then he applies a reverse chin lock. Riegel with punches but Connors with a forearm to the back. Connors goes for a suplex but Riegel blocks it. Connors blocks a suplex attempt. They continue to attempt suplexes but they are blocked until Connors can hit a suplex and he gets a near fall. Connors kicks Riegel in the back.

Connors with a kick to the chest and a chop in the corner. Connors with an Irish whip and he misses a splash and Riegel with a German suplex. Riegel with a running European uppercut into the corner and he sends Connors to the floor and hits a pescado. They return to the ring and Riegel with a shoulder and he flips into the ring and hits Slingblade for a near fall.

Riegel waits for Connors to get to his feet and he tries for a hesitation DDT but Connors blocks it and sends Riegel to the mat and tries for a Boston Crab. Riegel gets to the ropes to stop Connors. Riegel kicks Connors and goes for a jumping neck breaker but Connors holds on to the ropes. Connors with a power slam for a near fall. Connors runs into an elbow but Riegel misses a moonsault and Connors with a spear. Connors with the Boston Crab and Riegel taps out.

Winner: Clark Connors (Advances to finals to face winner of Danny Limelight versus Blake Christian)

Kevin Kelly interviews Blake Christian. Kevin asks about Christian’s rib injury and its effect on his match. Christian says he has won tournaments on one leg and with one arm but he has never dealt with breathing issues like this.

Match Number Two: Danny Limelight versus Blake Christian in a Semi-Final Match in the Lion’s Break Tournament

Limelight with a take down and he works on the injured ribs with knees. Limelight with a kick to the ribs in the corner. Limelight misses a splash and Christian with a forearm and kick. Limelight hits the ropes when Christian goes for a springboard move and Christian lands on his ribs. Limelight with a kick to the ribs and a torture rack before he sends Christian to the mat.

Limelight gets a near fall. Limelight with a snap mare and kick to the back. Limelight with a forearm to the back and a knee to the ribs. Limelight with elbows to the ribs and he gets a near fall. Christian with a forearm but Limelight kicks Christian in the ribs. Limelight gets a near fall. Christian with a kick and chops. Christian with an STO. Both men are down. Limelight with kicks to the ribs and Christian with forearms. Christian with a clothesline and kicks. Christian with a drop kick for a near fall. Limelight blocks a kick and works on the knee and then hits a sit out power bomb.

Limelight gets a near fall. Limelight goes for a suplex but Christian lands on his feet and hits a twisting flatliner for a near fall. Christian goes to the apron and goes for a springboard 450 but misses when Limelight moves. Christian with an enzuigiri when Limelight sets for a springboard move. Christian goes up top and hits a 450 splash onto Limelight hanging on the top rope. Christian gets a near fall. Christian goes up top and Limelight stops him. Limelight with a superplex and a fisherman’s buster for the three count.

Winner: Danny Limelight (Advances to face Clark Connors in the Finals)

Match Number Three: TJP and Karl Fredericks versus Brody King and Flip Gordon

TJP and Gordon start things off. They lock up and TJP with a wrist lock and take down. Gordon with a reversal. TJP with a reversal and head scissors take down. Gordon with a head scissors and TJP escapes. TJP with a shoulder tackle. Gordon with a shoulder tackle and Gordon walks on his hands but TJP with a take down into a knee bar. Gordon escapes and applies a front face lock.

They lock up and Gordon with a chop. TJP sends Gordon into the turnbuckles and hits a European uppercut. TJP floats over on an Irish whip and he gets goes for a Mutoh Lock but Gordon gets to the ropes. King tags in and so does Fredericks. They lock up and King pie faces Fredericks. They lock up and King backs Fredericks into the ropes and then gives a clean break. They lock up again and King pie faces Fredericks. Fredericks with a forearm and King with a forearm of his own. They go back and forth with forearm and King with a chop and Fredericks with a cross body. King with a shoulder tackle but he misses a back senton. Fredericks with a kick to the back. King with a knee and forearm to the back.

Gordon tags in and King is going to hit Fredericks but he moves Gordon into the way. Gordon is knocked down by King. Fredericks with a front face lock and TJP tags in and they hit a double suplex. TJP with a belly-to-back suplex and Fredericks with an elbow drop for a near fall. TJP with a slam and he misses a slingshot senton. Gordon gets TJP on his shoulders but TJP escapes. Gordon drops TJP on the apron while King knocks Fredericks off the apron.

Gordon gets a near fall. King with a kick in the corner followed by a chop. King kicks TJP in the corner. King with a slam and splash for a near fall. Gordon tags in and he kicks TJP. Gordon with a snap mare and kick to the chest. Gordon gets a near fall. Gordon with a chop and King tags in. King with a snap mare and a seated abdominal stretch. King with forearms to the chest. King with a surfboard. TJP with a mule kick. TJP floats over but King catches TJP. TJP with a DDT and both men are down.

Fredericks and Gordon tag in and they exchange forearms and chops. Gordon with a punch and he misses a clothesline. Fredericks with a back breaker and splash in the corner. Fredericks with forearms in the corner. Fredericks with a drop kick into the corner for a near fall. Gordon with a round kick and he goes for a springboard move but Fredericks counters with a spinebuster. Fredericks with a single leg crab.

King breaks up the hold and Fredericks kicks King. TJP tags in and hits a cross body onto Gordon and hits a satellite head scissors. TJP with a belly-to-back suplex to Gordon. TJP goes for a frog splash but Gordon gets his knees up and Gordon gets a near fall. Fredericks with forearms to King but King with an elbow. Gordon with a TKO to TJP for the three count.

Winners: Brody King and Flip Gordon

Match Number Four: David Finlay, Jeff Cobb, Rocky Romero, and Misterioso versus Jay White, KENTA, Chase Owens, and Hikuleo

Cobb wants to start with KENTA but KENTA does not feel like starting things off. Hikuleo decides to start and Romero wants to start but then he realizes the Hikuleo is starting. Rocky wants to tag someone in but they refuse. Romero with a chop and Hikuleo does not move. Hikuleo chops Romero to the mat. White tags in and he kicks and chops Romero. White mocks Romero and tags Owens in. Owens with kicks.

Owens with a punch to the head and he tags KENTA in. KENTA chops Romero. KENTA goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Romero lands on his feet. Romero with a forearm and Cobb tags in and he hits a shoulder tackle. White hits Cobb from behind and punches Cobb. Cobb with a forearm to White and an overhead belly-to-belly suplex to Owens. Cobb gets KENTA up for a delayed vertical suplex but KENTA with a rake of the eyes. Hikuleo kicks Cobb and then he knocks Misterioso and Romero off the apron. KENTA with punches and kicks to Cobb.

White tags in and kicks Cobb in the hamstring. White with a knee bar into a single leg crab. Cobb eventually gets to the ropes after KENTA pulls them away from him. Owens tags in and kicks Cobb. Owens with a spinning toe hold. Cobb gets to the ropes and the referee has Owens release the hold. KENTA tags in and kicks Cobb.

KENTA with a knee drop to the leg. KENTA kicks Cobb in the hamstring and Hikuleo tags in. Cobb with punches and Hikuleo with a slam and splash for a near fall. Cobb with elbows and White tags in and he clips Cobb before he can make the tag. Cobb with a suplex. Finlay tags in and he connects with forearms and European uppercuts. Finlay with a corkscrew back elbow and a running European uppercut into the corner and a corkscrew back elbow from the turnbuckles for a near fall.

Finlay goes for an exploder but White with an elbow and belly-to-back suplex. Finlay with an elbow to White followed by a clotheslines from Misterioso and Romero with a hip into the corner. Finlay with a uranage back breaker for a near fall.

KENTA kicks Cobb in the knee on the floor. White grabs Finlay by the hair but Finlay with a kick. White with a DDT. Owens and Misterioso tag in and Owens with forearms. Misterioso with a power slam and he hits a double jump quebrada for a near fall. Misterioso gets Owens on his shoulders and KENTA with a kick. Misterioso with a handspring double elbow. Misterioso with a rollup for a near fall. Misterioso with a clothesline into the corner and then he misses the double knee strike in the corner. White with a running elbow into the corner and hits a twisting suplex. Owens with a Shining Wizard for a near fall. Finlay with a flying boot to stop a package piledriver. Cobb with an elbow to White but White with a DT. Romero with a head scissors to White. Owens hits Misterioso in the leg on a springboard move. Owens with a forearm. Misterioso with a lungblower and Hikuleo with a clothesline to Misterioso. Hikuleo with a flapjack and Owens gets the three count.

Winners: Jay White, KENTA, Chase Owens, and Hikuleo

After the match, Cobb, Romero, and Finlay are in the back and Cobb asks if he can still go after KENTA and Owens.
